  • love this vid

  • I noticed that all of the video's had a way better mix than the CD had.

I own both CD's and they sound much thinner than the videos do.

  • Is that someone coughing at 1:56?

  • Hahahah....I never knew it was "decapitated all my dolls." I always heard "big head potato on my dogs" or something.

  • This video exemplifies so perfectly why I can't stand kids... :)

  • the girl on bass is mega hot

  • Geppetto in the flesh right here mother fuckers here to troll you all to hell.

Puppet bastards, lend me your strings.

  • God Tanya is HOT!!!

  • That bassist is so hot XD

  • Tanya ..the sexiest voice in rock.and Gail is just yummy.love this band always have

  • grt

  • this is a great video...then, now and always.

  • The bassist is a great player.

  • the bassist is fine!

  • Takes me back to a better time in music.

  • omg i want to eat that drummer.

  • Why is everyone hating on the bass player?

Who cares if she's cut and she knows it. How does it take away from Tanya Donelly? And do you know how rare it was for 'alternative chicks' to be into the gym and getting cut back in the day? Good for her.

This is why Riot Grrl started - to shut up all the comments about female musicians' bodies and how "hot" they were.

    APPRECIATE THE MUSIC

  • @EbayCanSuckIt - I agree. She looks good and seems like a NUT. In a good way. She was in metal bands before this - and was not going to change her persona because she was in a mellower band. It just shows she has flexibility. AND she looks good :)

  • @EbayCanSuckIt A chick that works out is hot as hell XD

  • @EbayCanSuckIt Yeah guys , or Courtney Love gonna come smack ya one =P

  • @EbayCanSuckIt Nothing wrong with appreciating music and beauty.

  • Someone needs to tell Gail Greenwood that we all get it, she's buff. Now tell her to get out of the way so we can see Tanya, who's a hundred times more appealing.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN

No, apparently you don't get it.

  • @Robert111 Ha ha, I wish mate... My stunning geeky student looks where the best form of contracpetion I knew back then, lol !

  • Is that a guy in drag playing bass?

  • Takes me back to Glasgow University student union 1993 or thereabouts. Big Gail storming about the stage with a Rickenbacker bass. Me falling over in the crowd and getting rescued by a dozen pairs of hands. Some young Irish girl was talking to us in the bar upstairs before the gig, urging us to come down and see her band play support. We did, she was called Dolores and they were The Cranberries.... Smashing night, so long ago !

  • @whisky110 Sounds really cool, dude. You probably did the "young Irish girl" I done reckon.

  • i love tanya she's so hotter than the bass player

  • So much sexual frustration for this entire band and the song and the video just UNF. x_X

  • I'm totally diggin' the bass player! No need to go find a buddy to help you move the furniture around for her!

  • Thumbs up if the bassist is the girl you'd want on your side in a bar brawl

  • note to self: Do not let children with pliers and wire-cutters into the studio while playing...

  • Totally groovy....as for as good as polly jean....think they would fall over each other saying the other is better- meanwhile kristin would sit in the bacjground and just KNOW but in a nice way....

  • Tanya Donnelly is as good a god as Polly Jean Harvey.

  • 191 people think this song is groovy.

  • my favorite belly song!! d:)

  • GIRL POWEER!!! TAWANDA!!!!

  • GAIL GREENWOOD RULES!! She is THEE NICEST human being I have ever met. Kind, kind, kind.

  • Saw this band back....whenever. Brilliant then and still on my ipod now!!!!!

  • They should've done split-screen on this so we could look at her abs the entire video.

  • So amazingly sexy - I miss the 90's!

  • She kinda looks like lady gaga when she's dressed down lol

  • i had this on a tape that i recorded from short wave radio..

i remember listenign this on my walkman while walking to the highschool bus ....

this music helped a lot back then.

  • Who let those damn kids on the set?

  • I don't know about "losing your soul" but that lassie looks like she lost her shirt

  • wow, real talent.

  • yeah she is pretty cute

  • * * * * *

    : )

  • I looked forever for this video. I saw it once in (I think) '94 on MTV and really like the song. Thanks whoever up loaded this!

  • cool video...I'm surprised the two dudes in this band never got much recognition. I know this band is all about Tanya, but as great as she sings, it was the overall rock component of this band that made me a fan.

  • Freddy Abong was the original bassist and he is much better and a muchbetter fot for the band.. Greenwood sucked.

  • No one knew who they were, but I loved and still love them!! I am a true Belly fan!!

  • I loved Belly. I wish they were still going, but I also love Tanya on her own. And she's happy and that's what most important. Gotta do what makes you happy.

  • Yeah Tanya is awesome. If you ever get the opportunity to meet Tanya, she is so awesome and cool.

  • @magicka2000 when I first heard Belly in 95', I instantly liked them, they were so special and I share the same feelings.......Her voice is too beautiful, I should have seen them live', I know they toured the UK......damn.

  • I wonder to which point Warner Bros owns any right over this song (and album) since it was released by 4AD. WB's job is only to market the 4AD catalogue in USA, nowt else.

  • Sammich shirt on the V. Assault guy always made me happy.

  • What is the name of the female band-member that is not the vocalist? She is wearing a bra and is playing a bass or guitar, and has long, blonde hair. She is cute. What's her story?

  • Anything Tanya Donnelly is solid, check out her first band, Throwing Muses

  • Wow dont knock bass player. You are insane!

  • i second ricleroc- super-connected is actually my favorite song (ever). the video is a little too mtv, but a great song. and a great album

  • I imagine that Madder Rose influenced this band quite heavily. That said, the bass player is certainly sexier that the bass player from MR...Just my male-ish opinion, of course, LOL!

  • @LTF6161 I disagree. King was a great album - Red, Silverfish, Super-connected, King, Seal My Fate (possibly one of the greatest songs ever written), Judas My Heart etc. The problem was that it got panned by a few critics early on which deterred others from checking it out for themselves.

  • Tanya and Belly's problem is that their first album was over-loaded w/ great material and their second album had very very little left. Suzanne Vega did the same thing ie shot her wad on many years of pent up material on one album and then had nothing decent left for a follow up. Gail didn't help matters but she wasn't the problem (only a distraction)

  • My father showed me belly when i was about ten. that was 4 years ago. I havnt listened to them in a while... it brings back so may good memories :D

  • I miss Boston rock. One of the best timeframes of music.

  • I still don't know why they thought they (whoever) needed a radio edit of this song.

  • Bay City Rollers Wtf??/?

  • @dww459 bay city rollers??? please dont talk out of your arse!!!

  • this song is still in heavy rotation on my ipod

  • Brilliant track, heavily influenced by the bay city rollers methinks.

  • I always did like Tanya's stomp dance (or whatever the hell it was called).

  • who else thinks tanya looks better than the hydroxycut bass player?

  • @N8trone

By leaps and bounds, my friend.

  • @N8trone

    Indeed. Tanya is quite lovely.

  • @N8trone They are both georgeous women, in my humble opinion. Plus, this band is extraordinarily talented...

  • @N8trone Well, duh. That bass player (Gail Greenwood I think?) was a bad replacement, she never fit in, always "rocking out" like she's in some kind of metal band.

  • @tml4873 Actually she used to play for L7... I never understood that weird weird choice, as you say she was always "rocking out" , her style was more for a band like Vixen, Babes in toyland or Hole

  • @N8trone Oh, hail yes. I mean, Ms. Buff Bassist is not at all bad looking and I am sure she is nice, but Tanya is adorable.

  • Righteous fuckin song ...

  • word

  • ahhh makes me proud to be a Bostonian her Juliana Hatfield and Letters to Cleo all from Boston and I LOVE THEM ALL

  • They were out of Newport, RI at that time...

  • @gamby123 yes the band was from newport but the singer is from boston

  • Awesome, just awesome.

  • A great band and also really nice people. I remember meeting Tanya and Gail backstage at the Cat's Cradle in NC. My ex ended up becoming good friends with Gail. This video takes me back, and there's something about Tanya that just makes you want to smile...

  • @DanR67

    So true.....I've met Tanya in person....and she's a sweetheart.

  • @DanR67 I saw them at the Cat's Cradle too!! I miss the days of going to Chapel Hill to see great shows!!

  • @CubsfanGSO ok. the only reason im commenting here is because that is the second time someone said 'cats cradle'.....just really cool. i live in carrboro and work directly across the street from the cradle. your right....chapel hill/carrboro is a great town to see bands. best.
