He maximized his strength on his athleticism because its his weapon, look at kobe, he imitated MJ, but still he can't get pass through what MJ has done during the peak of his career. From '90 to '98, Jordan teams never lost 3 in a row. A span of over 600 games! Calculate the probability of that happening.. Oh yeah, and he still led the league in scoring and PER. I'm assuming you're referring to the playoffs when you say "Jordan never beat Bird", maybe that's because they never met after '87. Bird already knew in 86' it was only a matter of time before the league was MJ's, stating...criticism of MJ not having a team mentality was unwarranted, because "..he didn't have a team." MJ was already considered the best by some coaches and peers yrs b4 he won a chip.
