I wonder if adding a Spire at some point in the game and using strictly unupgraded Mutas to harass could have helped.

Infestors were essential to his army for Fungals and MCs. But trading a few Infestors for a handful of Mutas could have put greater pressure on MMA's upper bases. Yes, he eventually successfully controlled a position using an Infestor drop, but mutas would have been more efficient I feel.

love how MMA only unloads half a dropship on high ground at 16:22 - he knew the infestors would be going there and only used a few marines to see if he could snipe a couple infestors and that pulled a lot of zerglings into tank fire. so efficient.

It's the small things like that where you don't really notice it unless you're playing close attention that make these pro players so amazing. Such a high level of not even starcraft but gaming. It makes you wonder just how many little things like this these sort of players do over a course of a 25 minute game.

@hmhamarquisse The point of a caster is not always to point every tiny detail in a match. If I wanted that, Id call DJWheat or some other play by play caster. HD is an entertainment caster, that's why they put them in groups of two in large events like ipl or mlg.

This game was probably what prompted the fungal nerf.

Would have been better, rather than reduce fungal damage, to make subsequent fungals do half damage so that chain fungal isn't such a problem.

Also, why didn't MMA start dropping nukes left and right? He could've absolutely won this if he would've actually been a smart player and started dropping nukes nonstop forever. He has to keep the zerg on defensive, and he has to drop mining, and you do that with ghosts and nukes, not with doing the same thing that hasn't worked before. And man, this game really showed the BS of zerg because MMA was on FIVE bases with one GOLD against THREE bases, and still had less units. Bullshit.

I hope you realize with this game just how much it illustrates how much bullshit Zerglings with full upgrades are. Especially with drops. The zerg, with creep, are built and designed to be able to easily fight a dropship of terran units, but the terran design puts them at a huge disadvantage to pulling units back to protecting their base. It's BS how much damage 300m worth of lings can do, and with one little upgrade Zerg suddenly had 15 dropships. MMA should've won that game.

ZvT is such a fun matchup to play and watch! (well, any matchup that doesn't involve Protoss tends to be fun).

What I don't understand is why he mixes ultras with infestors, I think at this stage banelings are better. Banelings are maybe less gas effective but at least the M&M either die or get out of the way FAST, letting ultras do the damage to the tanks, and ultras tend to survive much mixed with banelings.

@ObiOneGinobili the main issue with ultras against MMM is that they can be kited pretty easily with stim. If you add infestors to the mix and fungal the ball to hold it in place, ultras can be much more devastating (especially with fungal's DPS).

@ObiOneGinobili Naw I don't think that's cost effective. bainlings cost so much to morph the amount he would need to take out most of those armies mma had. Also when you make bains you are mostly relying on the terrans ability to control his army against them and that's not a really a good gamble to make. The whole strat for stephono was to fungal the m&m and while they can't move rape them with the ultras.

If the terran controls his army perfectly it's still bad for him, you have a bunch of ultras killing your tanks, banelings just don't die because ultras are priority targets and ultras don't die because the marauders are forced to run.

Obviously Stephano is better than I can ever hope to be and he has his reasons but just saying ultra/baneling makes more sense than you think.

@goingfortheone1 i have not heard a caster that has NOT made those little mistakes, in a 25 minute game NOT making those mistakes would mean it is scripted and that takes all the fun out of it. the unscripted raw commentary is what makes these videos entertaining and fun to watch. if you can cast a game like this and not screw up at all with out a script then i give u serious props.
