Only a 14 year old would actually believe that this comment would really offend people. We all know that you are some bored kid sitting in front of his computer amusing himself by thinking he is getting everyone super pissed by his comments. The truth is that we all know you are just a kid crying out for attention. I blame your parents for not giving you enough attention. But at least I gave you some attention by replying to your comment...consider it an internet hug.
@PhilCommander2 You certainly are well-acquainted with bad parenting skills! I'm sensing a lot of psychological projection here. Perhaps you are reaching out, with tear-streaked cheeks, desperate for the love and affection you will never, ever know? As for your hug, no thanks. The drool your helmet doesn't catch would be akin to bathing in a swamp full of rotting crocodile corpses. Then again, we all know you cunts can't stand hugs because you're all mental fuckups. You deserve your sorrow.
@LycanthropicAsshole Look at your comment-Back to mine-Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, yours isnt mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down-back up-where are you? Youre scrolling through comments finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine-what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.
Anythings possible when you think before you comment.
To people searching on 'theory of mind' and autism: although it's looks pretty like people suffering from autism lacks an understanding of other people's minds, this could be a false direction of understanding their specific disorder. It seems they have problems understanding different actions have a mutual goa (take it as a sequence as a wholes) This could also explain why they don't understand facial expressions as a follow up of 'feelings' or 'ideas'.
So theory of mind is knowing that other people have different levels of knowledge or mindsets than yourself? Mother of god it must be crazy not having theory of mind. I'm fairly sure theres different levels of lacking in theory of mind though because a problem I have is I automatically assume because I'm the way I am other people are probably that way too. This has gotten me into massive amounts of trouble.
Absolutely brilliant dude! I've worked with Autistic kids for eleven years and to have theory of mind broken down and exemplified so well was great to see :-)
It's wonderful to see how a Dad put so much thought on this kind of subject, and implement it so beautifully! Jake had great eye contact with you and you can see him totally into the game!
I just wanted to let you know that the sheer fact that you have taken the time to gain an understanding in Theory of Mind and using that knowledge in order to help your son is amazing. It's truly heartwarming to watch a parent take such pride in helping their child to develop to the best of their ability.
So glad you posted this. Was a link for child development psych. I read the section in the text didn't grasp it.... now I do. Your boy is sooo cute. Thank you.
When I was younger...I was tested for this too. I think since I've always had speech problems they thought I was 'disabled' or had some problem...but I remember doing well with this...
i remember this also and i truly beleive when i was given this test at that moment i "got it" right as it was explained to me, i devoloped it at that moment. you too??
i wonder how many others "got it" when they took the test
attempt some hard adult questions. If you have a glove on your right hand and take it of turning it inside out as you take it off will it fit on your left hand? that's an adult IQ test question..simple but you'd be surprised how many miss it.
it becomes a sock right? lol, just kidding. Jakes not ready for that yet coz he doesnt know what inside out means just yet...he does with a shirt, but he hasnt been able to generlise that concept yet. thanks for your comments!
Also, Just let me thank so many makers of videos I have watched on youtube. I believe a change and is possible for me. BTW I'm 28 undiagnosed. unmarried, and with job and independence.! Yay me!
He was playing like this probably after a week or two of doing this. he had great skills at the time i first started this game, so i wanted to take advantage of those skills to teach him this concept. After we started this game he really did get the idea that other people like different things. thanks for your comment!
VERY good idea! My son isn't quite ready for this yet, but I know he will be responsive to this when the time is right. Fun. Jake really likes those funny voices!
You are just fab! Seeing how you work with Jake is priceless. You can read 100 books but not learn as much as you learn from seeing things in action. My son is not at that level at all but you video gives me lots of ideas on how to teach this.
I love this video! Seeing Jake do this well would be very reassuring for many parents. You do a wonderful job with him, and it's great that you share your knowledge and experience with so many others :)
I love your videos. So much fun and so encouraging. My son has recently been diagnosed with autism (not mild is what the Ped. said)at the age of 25 months. I will be trying all that you do and have done with your son. Hope to have the same results.
I agree wtih Nuna, Jake's lucky to have you for his daddy Phil. Thanks so much for sharing this great exercise for creative play and developing theory of mind. Great video! :D
what a great excercise for learning and play fun all kids. Jakes lucky to have you for his dad, you have a big heart and jack will go a long way with you by his side. Take care and have a great a day.
fabulous--Ashton would love that exercise--he is just now at a phase where he claims ownership of things that he wants--he doesn't like to upset anyone so he used to give away the toy he had if someone else wanted--now he says "that's Ashtons' toy"--and when it is something he doesn't want he will say for example "that's Sam's (his brother) medicine"--that just started this week.
its really just looking at what someones particular exercise is trying to teach and thinking if there are other ways that may be more fun for jake. Its all about using your kids strengths to teach them, and making variations on other peoples exercises with those strengths in mind. thanks for the comment!

Asking a question in school:
I know what I want, but you don't know the question,
So I don't know the question,
So I have to help us get through question to the answer.
Looking at a menu:
I know what I might like, but the menu can't help me!
So I can't help myself.
It's like there is this missing bit of information that connects me to the menu, and at the same time allows me to 'not be the menu'.
I think it's this same thing which gives me problems finding things I have lost.
