  • Thank you for sharing your story. Our grandson is going through this right now, he's 8 days old and weighs less than 4 lbs. It's comforting to watch success stories like yours. Your daughter is beautiful! I especially like her "froggy legs" at 2:22 :)

  • God Bless her.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • My son was born with gastroschisis oct.19 last year 6 weeks early weighing 3 lb 3oz . we held him on the 12th day and he finally came home on dec. 11. He just turned 1 and other than easily getting constipated he is fine! :) He is so strong and healthy and absolutely smart! Every1 expecting a gastro baby or even if u have already had 1 u should "like" Avery's Angels; NPO funding Gastroschisis Research and Support on facebook. Meghan and all of the veterans have helped us so much thru our journey

  • Thanks for the video , puts all my worries and doubts to an end . I know my baby will be ok once its born :)

  • What blessed parents you both are. It's been 15 days since my son was born (also with gastroschisis), but I haven't held him yet. Still waiting for that day.

  • She is 5 mos. pregnant and the doctor told her the baby has gastroschisis. I went to bed with a very sad thought of how it is going to be with them. I viewed this this morning and got encouraged by your story yet on this lady's part...i really do not know... she is very poor. All I can do for now is pray. I hope I can be of help.

  • Hi! I come from the Philippines. I viewed this to gain knowledge about this particular disorder. I happen to know of such a thing when yesterday my house helper's sister in law, visited us. I pitied her because of the fact that she is quiet and a well-mannered young lady, 22 years old. She went to Manila to get a job but after some months she got pregnant but never received an offer to get married. She came home to Cebu last week and my house help prod her to go to a doctor.

  • I am a 16 year old girl, who was also born with gastroschisis. I was born a month early and weighed 3 lbs. But I am a happy teenager, i have a scar where my belly button would be but that just makes me different. Your daughter is beautiful! :)

  • i am a 33 yr old survivor and have no fear i am fine and so will all of your babies. There may be bumps in the road but just know that medicine has come a long way in the last 30 yrs.

  • My daughter was born on July 17th 2010. Also had Gastroschisis. She wasnt released from nicu until September 21st due to catching an infection after the closure surgery. She'll be a year old in about a week or so. She's crawling and talking and getting into everything. The hardest time would have to have been while she was in the hospital. I wasnt able to hold her until she was 10 days old. It was rough.

  • I had gastroschisis when I was a baby! Does your baby have a scar? I do:/! -I have a scar on my stomach and a belly button on the side.. But then again- I'm lucky to be alive :'D - Congrats on the baby-3
