Hm. I like the idea, but the whole thing seems to take far too many steps to be convenient in the field. It would be interesting to see the cost difference, and speed difference, between that, and the self-lifting stretchers (PowerMed / PowerFlexx / etc...) -- oh, and a pair of medics without either system as well.
@ambientfrustration The whole idea isn't speed, it's the safety of the crew. Ambulances services in the UK are primarily non-lifting services now, unless the circumstances are life of death. The stretcher itself weighs in excess of 50kg as again, it's a non-lift stretcher, and the height is adjusted by a hydraulic foot pump
