  • This video is very useful but a bit confusing because there's so many companies and different things to choose from. This past summer we rescued an adult female bearded dragon and we kind of just threw together a tank and some lights. At the moment I am using an Exo Terra Flourecent Compact bulb Repti-Glo 2.0 26 Wtts. And then as a heat source I'm using the 75Wtt Heat-glo. how would you rate these bulbs and how is Exo Terra in your opinion??

  • is that good if i only have a megaray sb 100 watt uvb lamp and a heat projector for my iguana. do i need any other lights

  • i just bought powersun uv mercury vapor lamp. is that a good source of light

  • @xXJDiaz914Xx their not really very good they last only 3 months or so and the over all light they put out is very poor to the reptiles eyes to us it looks ok the best lighting you should use is what i use on mine the megaray combo lighting its a huge improvment over all reptile lighting, check out the reptile habitat videos & the small habitat lighting video for more & also dont take my word on the powersun read the independant testing done at the website uvguide,co,uk & uvb_meter_owners group

  • @MrBinty1440, now i have power-sun UV mercury vapor lamp 100watts, and repti glo 2.0 uv florecent lamp 13watts, and for night i use Night Light Red Reptile Bulb 100watts is that good enough for iguana lighting. if not please tell me what else i need to get.

  • @xXJDiaz914Xx try and 100 watt megaray and a 60 watt heat projector for daytime and night time heat, their the best.

  • can you please tell me all the lights the iguana needs

  • @xXJDiaz914Xx they need a uvb bulb like the megaray, they need 1 or 2 5000K fluorescent tube lights and a halogen flood light for a 2nd basking spot or they can't see in full color indoors and so they can decide to lay under the uvb light or the halogen light to bask

  • what happens to a green iguana if i have one light for it

  • @xXJDiaz914Xx they cant see in full color and if u dont have a great uvb light they will get MBD and die

  • @MrBinty1440 can i just buy powersun uv thats just one bulb

  • @xXJDiaz914Xx u can but they are very poor in quality and the point to this video is that we need more then 1 bulb cause 1 bulb can't replace the sun they need afew types of lights added together to be able to see in color indoors and 2 basking spots with and without uvb so they are not forced to lay under a uvb bulb when they have had enuff uvb for the day, oh and the powersun color spectrum is crappy & the bulb only lasts 3 months no matter what the box says, buy a uvb meter & see for yourself

  • could you recomend some lights that you use?

  • i use all megaray lights from reptileuv, com i use the 100 watt megaray their 5000 k fluorescents and halogens and i use their meters to set them up right

  • Thx.

  • well never mind that last comment but what light supplies uvb and is cheap that megaray has or any other light

  • none all the others are made in china and can be dangerous cause they are made so cheap $6 each then they mark up the price 300% to sell them in pet stores for $20 & lasts 90 days if they dont blind your reptile but the megaray costs $35 to make and sells for $47 for the lowest price one and if your gentle with it it can last up to 18 months & has a 10 month warranty to replace it if it goes out

  • if i get a megaray light i was going to get a compact flourescent light which ones better for an iguana a 26 watt or 40 watt

  • i have 1 iguana in a 5x3x3 cage

  • is it 5 feet wide from side to side? if so its ok as a starter cage but soon as the ig is 3 foot you should make a bigger cage they need alot of room

  • hey MRbinty my lights i got 2 one of them is 5.0uvb 13Wand the other one is100W basking lamp

  • hi, ohh be very careful the 5.0 compact fluorescent uvb light from zoomed, exoterra, zilla & others are all the same bulb & was one of the first to start blinding reptiles over a year ago! the only way to know if its ok is to buy a solarmeter 6.5 uvi meter to test it for like $200 or just throw it away & go order a megaray 100 watt uvb from reptileuv, com its the only safe lights out there for reptiles, your 100w basking light is ok to use though u should get fluorescent fixture & 2-5000 K tubes

  • great video as always

  • Thanks i try to be lol

  • u so usefull!
