I agree the characters looked stupid. I knew already what the cause of the problem but they knew it later. IMO the characters weren't given justice. Also John Woo destroyed that film, the birds were pointless and overused. Get a new style John Woo it's getting old.

not enough innate greatness i mean i could have used more of; and not enough complexity and a number of other things in Ex Machina. Appleseed held more realism and detail, and it really seems more fun.

It might just be me but it seems like Appleseed is a little underated. It's like people don't see it at the top with GITS and AKIRA.
