Yeah it's true that Christ died for us for the forgiveness of our sin. But it doesn't mean that you are now free to sin because Jesus simply took the punishment in your behalf. The more you sin the more you prove that Christ was nothing for you. You didn't value His death at all. So therefore you are not yet forgiven, your guilt still remains in you.

Hebrews 8:10 describes numerous aspects of the old covenant. In Jeremiah 31:31-34, Jeremiah prophesied that in the future, God would make a new covenant, a better one, with his people through Jesus sacrifice.
At no point does Jeremiah say "with the sacrifice of Jesus I will make this covenant." At no point did jesus say the house of Israel now means the whole world. Or I am making a covenant with you apostles here it is. Also, verse one of Jeremiah 34 talks of building up Isreal for those who survive the sword of the messiah. Where was this sword? When was Isreal restored again and by who? Read the whole bible not just the parts you like. Jeremiah lays out a very different messiah.

Guys, study up on what Comfort is proposing: he states that salvation is a free "gift" and in the next breath states that salvation is only possible through repentance, which is nonsense. All the is required is to trust that Jesus is God and died for our sins. THAT IS IT! If Adam and Eve had no temptation to disobey God it would not really have proved anything. God told them what to do, gave them clear instructions. They only had to obey one commandment.. not to eat of the forbidden fruit.. thats it. Before being given crowns of life and becoming spirit beings they needed to develop righteous character. Righteous character involves remaining faithful and doing the right thing even while under temptation. He needed to know He could trust them.
Adam and Eve did not yet have eternal life before eating the forbidden fruit, but they had hope of eternal life. They had a good relationship with God and access to the TREE OF LIFE. Had they chosen to resist the temptation of Satan (He is referred to as a serpent or a dragon *means the same* in many passages) and obeyed God instead, they could have eaten from the fruit of LIFE and lived forever. They would have surely LIVED not surely DIED. God gave them a choice between, life and death.

According to the story God did not say they'd be cast out of the garden; it says on that day they would surely die. No, god, (at least as understood by classical theology), did not create us. Should we be proud of something we could not have changed in any way? I think not. The O.T. is the inspired word of God. God was then working with the nation of Israel. The elect the were still saved though Christ even though He had not came yet. God called them, gave them His spirit and their sins were atoned though sacrifices which were symbolic of Christ. It was the Word who spoke with them and eventually came to earth as Jesus.
So does that mean that laws like eating shellfish is an abomination or homosexuality is an abomination carry less weight than 'whatsoever you do unto the least of my brethren you do unto me' or does are they equal? The purpose of the adam and eve story is to setup the idea that women and animals are to blame for the fall of man. This makes it easier to put them in a place that is inferior to man. The babble, afterall, was written by men as a means to control women and animals.
Adam and Eve were given the opportunity to have eternal life, but first God tested them to make sure they would choose His way of Love instead of Satan's way of Lust. He wanted to make sure they would obey Him, even under temptation. Adam and Eve chose to listen to and believe Satan instead of their creator. God told them if they ate from the tree of Knowledge they would DIE and they did DIE, maybe not that day but the process began then and they are now dust. The serpents way of selfish ascension leads to ruin, Gods way of Love leads to LIFE ETERNAL.
The story never mentions Satan; that's a christian thang that was added years later to try and make the story adapt to the christian religion. Nor does the story say anything about a *process*. Obviously you didn't go back and read the story; are you afraid to?

In Genesis 4:10 God told Cain that his brothers blood cried out to Him "And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." We of course know from our experience that blood has no vocal chords or consciousness so it could not have cried out. Did God lie? No. God is all knowing .. the blood did not literally cry out with an audible voice God was speaking poetically. God knew Cain had killed his brother and it metaphorically called to God for justice

He gave Adam and Eve the chance to do the right thing but foreknew they would do the wrong thing. They could have obeyed God but chose to disobey, this made them evil.. God had already planned to manifest in the flesh and die for fallen mankind to redeem them. He also foreknew those who He loved and would save (the elect).
The elect are those who will repent (Come to Jesus and be forgiven)receive the Holy Spirit, and turn from their sins. They will remain faithful to God and obey even when facing harsh difficult circumstances as well as persecution and temptation from the rest of the world. They will in the end be given crowns of life and be born again in a immortal spirit bodies that will live forever. That is the reason for all of human history.. the development of Gods children who will be born into His kingdom

If God created beings incapable of sinning, they would not have free will. God wants children that Love Him and are faithful out of choice not because they are programed that way. Lucifer was a perfectly created being, he was perfectly righteous until he had sinful thoughts. He became proud of his beauty and greatness. He coveted, desired to exalt himself over God and be God himself. That was the beginning of sin and discord in Gods perfect universe. Gods way is Love and selflessness.
God had already created spirit beings who were perfect from their creation but some of them chose to rebel. God gave Adam and Eve the choice of obeying or disobeying.. they chose to disobey giving mankind an evil nature. This was to give the elect a nature that desires to disobey God to overcome. The elect even though their nature pulls them towards evil and the world is constantly persecuting and tempting them to disobey remain faithful refining their character.

The original is unscriptural and is enjoyed by people of all faiths because it's just fluff without any substance. It's also full of stuff God would never say. I had posted this because of the discussions it fostered and I had over 120,000 people watch it. The owner, an Internet investor, forced everyone to take it down a few months ago and many people got in trouble, and a lot of ministry was immediately eliminated. "Bible thumping?" Sounds like 2 Tim. 4:3-4... You should read it.
God is within us and all around us.....you can choose to believe or disbelieve this he gave you that choice....I choose to believe...and I truly do. If i should be wrong when I die, i wont be aware it ..I cant lose.

The best part is that biology has observed homosexuality in many, many animals other than humans, and they're still fine! Again, explain the fact that homosexuality is a common occurence in the animal kingdom. The animals doing it are healthy, have access to the opposite gender, they're just homosexual. If your 'God' really views it as wrong, you think we should be putting down gay animals or something?
We are not animals so what they do is irrelevant. God didn't write to them, He wrote to us, and calls homosexuality sin. We are not born with those desires. There may be a curiosity (as with any other sin) but that's different. Some animals may have a curiosity, big deal. They are not under God's law and going to be judged on Judgment Day. You are.
i would like to agree and disagree with you. the Holy Bible specifically says that homosexuals are going to be judged. i do agree with you that homosexuals cant help it that they're gay. people will argue this point but, i am saying that they just do not feel for the opposite sex of their own. instead they are drawn to the same sex as themselves and THAT they cannot help. i have some gay friends and they try to go with girls but they simply cannot love them as they could a boy. think about it.

That's good, but it's not so much a graven image as what it says about bowing down before it, making it God. But, I still like the video. Repent just means change directions, but even though in the Old Testament, we hear repentance CONSTANTLY- it's not about repentance or our own good works. Read Romans 3:23, 10:9 etc... I john 5:13. I just use KJV because it's the closest we have to His original text. Some versions kick Christ out of Heaven and miss out on some verses completely.

The ten commandments is not the law. Leviticus is the law. Deuteronomy is the second telling of the law. If sin is transgression of the the law. Then all Christians sin who do not heed Leviticus. This is biblical. There is no biblical source that contradicts the Law. No where is it said in the Bible that the Law is no longer applicable. No where. Jesus said "Till heaven and earth pass, not one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" Matt 5:19

Hebrews 8:10 describes numerous aspects of the old covenant. In Jeremiah 31:31-34, Jeremiah prophesied that in the future, God would make a new covenant, a better one, with his people through Jesus sacrifice.

At no point does Jeremiah say "with the sacrifice of Jesus I will make this covenant." At no point did jesus say the house of Israel now means the whole world. Or I am making a covenant with you apostles here it is. Also, verse one of Jeremiah 34 talks of building up Isreal for those who survive the sword of the messiah. Where was this sword? When was Isreal restored again and by who? Read the whole bible not just the parts you like. Jeremiah lays out a very different messiah.

Guys, study up on what Comfort is proposing: he states that salvation is a free "gift" and in the next breath states that salvation is only possible through repentance, which is nonsense. All the is required is to trust that Jesus is God and died for our sins. THAT IS IT! The holy spirit will change your view of sin (you will still sin as all men/women are sinners) but you will not sin with a clear conscience. Don't buy into this.

If Adam and Eve had no temptation to disobey God it would not really have proved anything. God told them what to do, gave them clear instructions. They only had to obey one commandment.. not to eat of the forbidden fruit.. thats it. Before being given crowns of life and becoming spirit beings they needed to develop righteous character. Righteous character involves remaining faithful and doing the right thing even while under temptation. He needed to know He could trust them.

Adam and Eve did not yet have eternal life before eating the forbidden fruit, but they had hope of eternal life. They had a good relationship with God and access to the TREE OF LIFE. Had they chosen to resist the temptation of Satan (He is referred to as a serpent or a dragon *means the same* in many passages) and obeyed God instead, they could have eaten from the fruit of LIFE and lived forever. They would have surely LIVED not surely DIED. God gave them a choice between, life and death.

According to the story God did not say they'd be cast out of the garden; it says on that day they would surely die. They did not die on that day and to make sure they didn't also eat of the tree of life and become immortal the God(s) had a conference and decided to cast them out and also put guards around the tree of life. That's what it says ...not what you're saying. You didn't write the bible and neither did a god, gods, goddess. It's all human imagination.

Unfortunately Bible is incomplete and altered many times.The only complete source of knowledge about God is in Vedas.We have to die here because this is the nature of material world but the soul is never born and never dies.Our home is in spiritual kingdom of God.Our sin was that we wanted to experience life without God so we were sent to material world where we cannot see God directly.Ultimately we'll all return to God but first we have to learn to surrender to Him and love Him unconditionally

No, god, (at least as understood by classical theology), did not create us. Should we be proud of something we could not have changed in any way? I think not. If god existed and created us should we adore him for it? Not if he is so cruel to insure my suffering for all eternity in spite of my best efforts.
What does god deserve? He deserves what he gives and from what I can see that is very little.

You can be forgiven if you go to Him and ask, and no we should never be proud of anything, pride is a sin. Any goodness any of us have at all is from God, we can do nothing on our own. Salvation is purely by grace, Gods calling us to repentance and forgiving us though Christs sacrifice. Any who go to Him, believe and repent CAN be forgiven but TO go to Him He has to call you. You CANNOT go to Him and repent on your own without Him calling you first. Salvation is a gift God gives to His chosen.

You left out some of the commandments which were in full force for 1700 years or so, like "Render unto me your firstborns", how the deformed and menstruating women were "unclean", and "Kill every living thing that moves," expressed numerous times, which involved babies unaware of Adam and his 'sin against mankind.'

You do realise that examples you gave here are entirely out of context.
It's like picking one word in a book and saying: this book is evil because it has the word "Death" in it.
Read the book first and be able to explain why it is evil.
But I agree that the acts like sacificing firstborn to God look evil in the eyes of those who don't believe that God is in complete control. And that firstborns are likely to have better life with Him then here on Earth.

The O.T. is the inspired word of God. God was then working with the nation of Israel. The elect the were still saved though Christ even though He had not came yet. God called them, gave them His spirit and their sins were atoned though sacrifices which were symbolic of Christ. It was the Word who spoke with them and eventually came to earth as Jesus.

Old testament is there as a promise of Christ's coming.
Since Christ is already here, Old testament is christian history.
As for abominations, any sin is abomination in God's eyes. If a person who eats shellfish sees it as a sin (in his conscience) then the answer is yes, it is abomination. If a person who eats shellfish does not see it as a sin (in his conscience) then no, it's not abomination. As for weight of sins. It's really up person's conscience to tell.

If you really want to have some fun read the bible. Not the warm fuzzy parts the believers like to point to, the rest of the book.
Think about this: Omnipotent, omniscient, god creates man (and his lesser companion woman) he gives them paradise but says 'don't eat from the tree that will make you as smart as me' Now, if he is omniscient, doesn't he know what is going to happen? JUST GET RID OF THE TREE!!! No instead he lets one persons mistake insure eternal suffering. God is love indeed!

Adam and Eve were given the opportunity to have eternal life, but first God tested them to make sure they would choose His way of Love instead of Satan's way of Lust. He wanted to make sure they would obey Him, even under temptation. Adam and Eve chose to listen to and believe Satan instead of their creator. Instead of humbly following God and trusting Him they desired and coveted selfish power and pleasures, desired to go their own way, choose what is right and make themselves gods on their own

The serpent said they would NOT DIE. That was a lie for they did. They lost their chance at eternal life (tree of life) and now they are dust. The serpent said they would BE LIKE GODS. They are not Gods, they are dust..they DIED. Satan is a LIAR. God told them if they ate from the tree of Knowledge they would DIE and they did DIE, maybe not that day but the process began then and they are now dust. The serpents way of selfish ascension leads to ruin, Gods way of Love leads to LIFE ETERNAL.

Be careful of presuming to be wise. You are accusing God and making judgments about things you don't understand. God often uses figures of speech, metaphors and poetic language.. you are trying to read everything completely literally and then calling God a liar which is serious blasphemy. If your going to do that it would be probably best for you to not read the bible at all as its only going to get you in more trouble than your already in.

In Genesis 4:10 God told Cain that his brothers blood cried out to Him "And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." We of course know from our experience that blood has no vocal chords or consciousness so it could not have cried out. Did God lie? No. God is all knowing .. the blood did not literally cry out with an audible voice God was speaking poetically. God knew Cain had killed his brother and it metaphorically called to God for justice

Once they ate of the fruit death became inescapable, there was no way out. THEY WOULD SURELY DIE, and they DID die. The certain path to death happened for them almost immediately. They were cast out of the garden and cut off from the tree of life, cut off from LIFE.

Gods ways are higher than your ways.. higher than the heavens are above the earth. His plan is for the creation His children. He gave Adam and Eve the chance to do the right thing but foreknew they would do the wrong thing. They could have obeyed God but chose to disobey, this made them evil.. God had already planned to manifest in the flesh and die for fallen mankind to redeem them. He also foreknew those who He loved and would save (the elect).

The elect are those who will repent (Come to Jesus and be forgiven)receive the Holy Spirit, and turn from their sins. They will remain faithful to God and obey even when facing harsh difficult circumstances as well as persecution and temptation from the rest of the world. They will in the end be given crowns of life and be born again in a immortal spirit bodies that will live forever. That is the reason for all of human history.. the development of Gods children who will be born into His kingdom

If 'God had already created spirit beings who were perfect' why did they rebel? Is rrebellion perfect? Eve gave everyone the desire to disobey and any one who does suffers for all eternity? Your god does not sound loving at all, but rather hateful vengeful and petty.

If God created beings incapable of sinning, they would not have free will. God wants children that Love Him and are faithful out of choice not because they are programed that way. Lucifer was a perfectly created being, he was perfectly righteous until he had sinful thoughts. He became proud of his beauty and greatness. He coveted, desired to exalt himself over God and be God himself. That was the beginning of sin and discord in Gods perfect universe. Gods way is Love and selflessness.

God had already created spirit beings who were perfect from their creation but some of them chose to rebel. God gave Adam and Eve the choice of obeying or disobeying.. they chose to disobey giving mankind an evil nature. This was to give the elect a nature that desires to disobey God to overcome. The elect even though their nature pulls them towards evil and the world is constantly persecuting and tempting them to disobey remain faithful refining their character.

In the end God will have children that have passed the tests and remained loyal to Him even in the face of awful circumstances. It is His good pleasure to give them eternal life and make them part of His family. He knows He can trust them with things of real importance because they remained faithful while in their lives here on earth. God will have the best for His children, faithful servants He can trust and won't rebel. We exist to serve Gods purposes, not the other way around.

I espically like where it says keep the sabbath holy, it use to be saturday, but someone changed that, even though it was a holy day, to sunday. along with that it says anyone not respecting the sabbath shall be put to death. so to all christians, go out with bible and gun, and kill all the people working on the sabbath, and dont forget to stone to death all disobedient children. oh, but thou shall not kill. I wish an all knowing being could be consistent with his laws.

That's out of context. Laws of the old testament are done with. They were used to produce the fruit of death, now the laws of Christ are applicable which are used to produce the fruit of life.
Sabbath is not a day, it's a condition. Christ is Lord of the Sabbath. People who make Him Lord are always in the Sabbath because they share Lordship over the Sabbath with Him. Man was not made for Sabbath, Sabbath was made for man

Commandment is given to human being to achieve the unachievable standard of perfection.
The commandment by itself produces death to those who do not follow it. And that death is Gods gift to those who do not know Him (His followers are delivering the gift produced by the people who are going to be killed by God's followers [they are alone responsible for not knowing God])

The original is unscriptural and is enjoyed by people of all faiths because it's just fluff without any substance. It's also full of stuff God would never say. I had posted this because of the discussions it fostered and I had over 120,000 people watch it. The owner, an Internet investor, forced everyone to take it down a few months ago and many people got in trouble, and a lot of ministry was immediately eliminated. "Bible thumping?" Sounds like 2 Tim. 4:3-4... You should read it.

The best part is that biology has observed homosexuality in many, many animals other than humans, and they're still fine! Read "Biological Exuberance" by Bruce Bagemihl before posting anything else, lest you make yourself look even stupider. It's been a big taboo in biology but we're smart enough to discuss it nowadays so don't hide from it.

We are not animals so what they do is irrelevant. God didn't write to them, He wrote to us, and calls homosexuality sin. We are not born with those desires. There may be a curiosity (as with any other sin) but that's different. Some animals may have a curiosity, big deal. They are not under God's law and going to be judged on Judgment Day. You are.

i would like to agree and disagree with you. the Holy Bible specifically says that homosexuals are going to be judged. i do agree with you that homosexuals cant help it that they're gay. people will argue this point but, i am saying that they just do not feel for the opposite sex of their own. instead they are drawn to the same sex as themselves and THAT they cannot help. i have some gay friends and they try to go with girls but they simply cannot love them as they could a boy. think about it.

That's good, but it's not so much a graven image as what it says about bowing down before it, making it God. But, I still like the video. Repent just means change directions, but even though in the Old Testament, we hear repentance CONSTANTLY- it's not about repentance or our own good works. Read Romans 3:23, 10:9 etc... I john 5:13. I just use KJV because it's the closest we have to His original text. Some versions kick Christ out of Heaven and miss out on some verses completely.
