Thanks - delightful old film short and music. The lead reminds me of "Catweazle" - in fact its funny to note that Geofrey Bayldon who was to later star in that role nearly 10 yeras later featured in this film playing the hotel receptionist.. I expect it was one of his first film roles.
Thank you very much indeed for uploading this! I was just looking up Hugo Alfvien on Wikipedia when I came across this, and would probably never have seen or heard of this otherwise. Oddly my father actually saw this at the cinema almost 60 years ago!
Curious you should mention your father in connection with this film.
I first saw it on the Irish Television Service in 1965, and my late father let the cat out of the bag as soon as he saw it come on, much to the amusement of a workmate of his to whom I related the incident to the next day - I've never forgotten it on account of my father's gaffe...
@theprophet20 The funny things one remembers about ones' father and what engenders those memories. My father used to be a regular cinemagoer - he saw all the great movies of the fifties and sixties down a the Savoy, Penzance.
They remade this for TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED in 1982 - which had a great twist at the end!

Wasn't that fun? Mum put me onto this as she's seen it while she was courting all these years ago. Here's me, thinking I'd seen it all.....
