@rizzlaxl from what i have read and heard from radio djays as of yesterday, it was a demo that paul wrote and played all of the instruments during the dressed to kill sessions. it was commomn in those days when a songwriter writes a song, the songwriter would play all of the instruments and then bring it to the band for their imput.

You can hear the vibe of "Don'tcha Hesitate" that made it on the Box Set. In my opinion, I think KISS put too many previously released tracks on the box set and not enough real demos and unreleased stuff. The Box Set is very cool but not enough focus on rarities. Maybe with Gene's still-to-be-released Box Set 100 Paul will follow suit and these will show up. Could be they're saving these for their own solo Box Set releases. At least I hope they will.
In the intro and the chorus you can hear part of the riff of what became the intro riff to "It's Alright" on Paul's solo album. I'm also not convinced this isn't Ace. The solo is very Ace-like. Those yelling the loundest it's Dick Wagner have no first hand proof and probably aren't sure of it themselves, but they think if they say it loud enough and long enough everyone will eventually agree with them. @skariskari The really big thing for me is the modern mastering. Cranking the compresser and clamping it down with a limiter does not sound good. If you sit down with a album like that from start to finish it will wear your ears down. Ace's new album is over mastered as well. His is way to loud. Kiss need Eddie Kramer, someone that was there from the start. And Eddie wont let the music get squashed. I hope Ace and Kiss can agree on things one more time and put out a album with the original 4
There is a reason Tommy and Eric dress like Ace and Peter and copy their licks. I believe that both are able musicians and I would even say that Eric is a fantastic drummer. Tommy does an impressive Ace imitation. Even on Sonic Boom.. Tommy is doing an Ace Impression. Thousands of guitar players can play the licks, only one wrote them. KISS is a shell of what they were without Ace.

Sounds like the tail end of Wicked Lester, evolving more towards what KISS would sound like. Guitar solo sounds pretty much like Ron Leejack, not Ace Frehley at all.
On video EXPOSED, amongst all the tawdry nutcracking, Simmons and Stanley sit down for a retrospective moment and reveal they used to love singing together like The Beatles. That admission is evidenced here, albeit more in the Stones' vein, which all stems from that same influential invasion era. Sounds totally like Klassic Kiss - because it IS! Too bad they haven't liked singing together since the mid-80s...
This is during Ace's love of the Phaser phase...BUT I'm not certain it's him. it almost sounds like Paul's style on the lead breaks, except for the solo.

Call it nostalgia...but the sequel just doesn't compare to the real deal. I am Ace in a local tribute band (We will be posting videos soon) so I feel for Tommy...but I am not impressed with him. I have people tell me "You play those songs better than Ace does" too....but I know better. I'm just a cheap copy with a smoking Les Paul :-)

Kiss needs to get Ace and Peter back and put out a album with music like this. Sonic Boom does not sound like a Kiss record from the 70's. It sounds like modern Kiss, cheezy and over produced. Im tired of the loudness war and the treble cranked in guitars. This song is Rock and Roll

@DoublePlow i both agree and disagree cause Ace and his unhuman ego lets him being a solo musician. And i think sadly that Peter hasn't got much left.. :/ but this song rocks and my opinion kiss also rocks today!

@skariskari The really big thing for me is the modern mastering. Cranking the compresser and clamping it down with a limiter does not sound good. If you sit down with a album like that from start to finish it will wear your ears down. Ace's new album is over mastered as well. His is way to loud. Kiss need Eddie Kramer, someone that was there from the start. And Eddie wont let the music get squashed. I hope Ace and Kiss can agree on things one more time and put out a album with the original 4

There is a reason Tommy and Eric dress like Ace and Peter and copy their licks. I believe that both are able musicians and I would even say that Eric is a fantastic drummer. Tommy does an impressive Ace imitation. Even on Sonic Boom.. Tommy is doing an Ace Impression. Thousands of guitar players can play the licks, only one wrote them. KISS is a shell of what they were without Ace.

Sounds like the tail end of Wicked Lester, evolving more towards what KISS would sound like. Guitar solo sounds pretty much like Ron Leejack, not Ace Frehley at all.

On video EXPOSED, amongst all the tawdry nutcracking, Simmons and Stanley sit down for a retrospective moment and reveal they used to love singing together like The Beatles. That admission is evidenced here, albeit more in the Stones' vein, which all stems from that same influential invasion era. Sounds totally like Klassic Kiss - because it IS! Too bad they haven't liked singing together since the mid-80s...

This is during Ace's love of the Phaser phase...BUT I'm not certain it's him. it almost sounds like Paul's style on the lead breaks, except for the solo.

Ha!! I can't say whom the person is, because he's REALLY famous and was one of Ace's "ghost players" as well as Briuce's. YES, Bruce, but I heard some really interesting stories. Those first 4 albums that made me love them, before they could afford not to play on their own albums allows me to keep loving them. Oh and Ace did something else other than that card game, no...wait no he didn't

Definitely heavy Stones influence. I like this track. Anytime Stanley Simmons sang together it sounded GREAT. Sadly those days are LONG gone. I hope more gets "found"!

Kiss right now is more a "BAND" than they ever were in the 70's. Ace was lazy and Peter complained about everything. Exactly why it didn't work the 2nd time either. @Dolphnguy13 : not really meaning tommy is BETTER than ace so much as tommy is superior because he make far fewer mistakes playing ace's solos than ace does playing his OWN solos. they're identical guitarists, you are correct. but the fact that tommy is much more consistant makes him superior to ace, IMO.

@strutter0812 There are painters that can recreate the Mona Lisa brush stroke for brush stroke. It does NOT make them superior to Da Vinci. "Great" is being able to do it...."awesome" is being able to create it. Tommy has no passion. He's just playing the notes. They could let an IPod do that.

@Dolphnguy13 : tommy still plays ace's solos better than ace. he even had to show ace how to play a lot of his parts before the reunion tour. like i said before, i'm not saying tommy is better than ace. yes ace created the solos and is my favorite lead guitarist of all time but that doesn't make him the best. tommy is a more consistant guitarist. he doesn't get plastered and then go on stage and make 15 mistakes every night in front of the fans. i prefer tommy only because ace is a lazy fk up.

@strutter0812 I know several guitar players that play Eddie Van Halen songs better than Eddie does.... would you rather one of them go out with Van Halen? Call it nostalgia...but the sequel just doesn't compare to the real deal. I am Ace in a local tribute band (We will be posting videos soon) so I feel for Tommy...but I am not impressed with him. I have people tell me "You play those songs better than Ace does" too....but I know better. I'm just a cheap copy with a smoking Les Paul :-)

@Dolphnguy13 : hey i think that's awesome. i was in a couple of bands too. played guitar for a long time. but the bottom line is would you rather have ace at 50% or tommy at 100%? give me the 100% every time. it's better for kiss. i know a lot of ace fans would say different but it's not fair to the rest of the fans nor is it fair to paul and gene to have to deal with ace's issues. i love ace but unless he's gonna be 100% then i'm happy with the current lineup.

We are working in a new Gene...so we are supposed to video our show on the 29th. I went to the "farewell tour" and saw Ace at 50%. It was obvious that he and Gene hated each other and that showed on stage. Even with that... I would take it over the new thing. Plus I'm mad that they didn't even CALL me lol
