Love the music! I was thinking "eww! !" at the sight of them all smooshed in the jar. Well, after you mentioned crackers, mustard and cheese... (sigh) I changed my mind. It brought back memories and I recall eating JUST that with canned smelt while sitting on my dads lap and watching some sporting event or other which I couldn't have cared less about! :) Presuming that I can find some smelt, I may try this. Thanks for sharing this. I'm marking it as a favorite.
I used to go every yr with my great grandpa to Superior to smelt. I spent more time running around and throwing rocks than anything. LOL. I will never forget the time I spent with him though.
They are not my favorite, but another cheap way to provide you and yours with food. thx

Wonderfull music and recipe I like to eat fish .Can I use sardines instead of smert ? I cant stop listening to the music I love it.

@MH33able I think there are several types of fish that they use for "Sardines" but yes they would all work

We seldom get folks goin out to net smelt anymore they are really hit and miss not to mention most folks stay hush hush..
