two great musiansdjango and stephane, my mum , has sinced passed, dut i grow up with , django ,stephane. big band souns, swing, im still a kid, at 63, but , mum showed me some , great music, , but moved on to the beales, 59.... sixties. new era.. great times, 40... and thru 60 so many great thoughts,
wowww love it ...now you can see that Django and Stephane didn't just know the jazz standards...any musician worth his weight in gold knows the master, Bach.
@vonsturmgeist there is a program that converts youtube videos into mp3 files, it's amazing, just google youtube to mp3. I got rare audio from video this way, very nice.
hey, first of all, thanks for posting this! this is seriously one of my all time favorite songs.
but i just thought i would also say that this is a recording of Stéphane Grappelli's duet with American jazz violinist Eddie South... in case anyone is interested.
Oups - with deepest respect to these genius musicians - I hear they have to put Bach in some kind of jail - either Bach harmonies would go to far away. but it's nice to listen.
This is not only one of the finest pieces ever composed but also a wonderful interpretation. This is one of my take-to-the-island recordings since many, many years. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my God that just made me so happy!

Swing didn't exist in the time of Bach but this piece is much better in swing than straight.
