I think that as long as McCain continues to look more and more like Bush he will have a difficult time making change with the congress as it is. That being said I think it is obvious that the current administration has hurt the state of the union and it will take couple of terms of a Democrat to fix that which has been broken. mccain isn't a moderate anymore. He's defected too much to be considered a maverick. with the exception of environment, he agrees too much with the neo-cons on economy, foreign policy, etc.

But, I think that when you break it down between Obama and McCain, I think that it is McCain that can end up working with the current congress and senate to get things done that would be beneficial towards all Americans not just the 19 blue states.
