Obama was stating the obvious. We live in a country where a leading "churchman" blamed 9/11 on the "pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays" and where teens go to their schools commit mass murder on a regular basis. And the root of it (duh!) is the feeling of personal powerlessness. Maybe someone will drag this country kicking and screaming into the modern world at last.

Wow, the Obama campaign has really turned into dishonest people. The "bitter", "frustrations" words were not the offensive words.
No wonder I'm a cynical person and didn't want to believe it in the first place... if Obama is playing politics as usual and being dishonest, then why believe it will ever be any different.
Actually, today on Chris Matthews College Tour, McCain sounded like he's going to run a more respectful, ethical campaign than Obama.
If Obama has the nomination stolen from him via superdelegates, there will be rioting in the streets. But more severe & profound than 68 because of the connected world we live in. People are fed up & emotionally invested in this election like never before. Something is going to give this election. Don't be supprised when Martial Law is called in by Bush if the cities burn. With the new & vast executive powers he has, the elections could be suspended indefenately. I hope I'm wrong. We shall see.
Obama is the front runner only because Howard dean has stolen Mi and Fl primaries. Obama is a liar, elitist, racist, and hypocrit and cannot be the president. People who threaten the election process with violence moves us towards socialism and dictatorship. Obama and these type threats make him the next Robert Mugabe or Idi Amin Dada. Obama is popular in the democratic party but cannot win in the general election. Super delegates chose the electable candidate for the November race only.
Read Ivanbunny's post. Threats of riots, burning cities etc. Everywhere I read from his supporters, "stop voting out of fear for republicans", but mow we are being threatened by those same supporters of riots and burning our cities.
This is unbelieveable. This is the mentality of his supporters? Violence and crime if they don't get what they want. People you better take notice of these posts. It's one thing to be passionate, a whole different story when your a vigilante...
kevjo66: You can't even spell Obama's "buddies" names, you brainwashed Republican shill. Go back to hugging your Sean Hannity-tuned radio, and so forth.
I think that as long as McCain continues to look more and more like Bush he will have a difficult time making change with the congress as it is. That being said I think it is obvious that the current administration has hurt the state of the union and it will take couple of terms of a Democrat to fix that which has been broken. Perhaps then the true conservative ideals will have to go back to their far more workable beginnings and halt the march for a large limited government.
Why is it that people think that a Liberal senator is better suited at uniting America over a moderate senator who has, through his career, worked on both sides of the aisles. Obama could do more to tear this nation apart than Bush ever has.
Sorry, I think you would have to be a stone cold psychopathic killer to tear this nation apart more than Bush. Conservatism has had its chance to do exactly what it wanted, and I think its record is pretty clear. Fiscally irresponsible, morally bankrupt, imperialist overseas and authoritarian at home - time to let the libs drive for a bit while you all sober up.
mccain isn't a moderate anymore. He's defected too much to be considered a maverick. with the exception of environment, he agrees too much with the neo-cons on economy, foreign policy, etc.
Although he once was a maverick, he thought that he needed to change his image quite a bit to get the conservative vote. the only way to do that was to ally himself with the republican establishment. don't judge him on what he was, judge him on what he is doing and saying.
I do agree with you that McCain is trying to hard to reshape himself to what conservatives want. But, I think that when you break it down between Obama and McCain, I think that it is McCain that can end up working with the current congress and senate to get things done that would be beneficial towards all Americans not just the 19 blue states.

If you vote for "God damn" Obama, or "sniper fire" Hillary, you are wasting your vote. McCain ain't no prize, but he looks respectible next to thses clowns. Obama and Billary both keep sticking their big left feet in their mouths. That or they continue to bitch-slap one another. What a choice for democrats.
mccain was lucky enough to have all his major opponents drop out. if romney was still in the race, you would hear the same rhetoric from the republicans. you gotta analyze the entire situation and compare all the candidates accurately before sharing...please.
I have analyed the entire situation. And McCain is too much of a moderate for many conservatives. Especially regarding illegal aliens. Obama and Hillary are simply a joke. Mr. "God damn America", and Mrs. "Sniper Fire". No, thankyou.
You're going to judge obama because of what another man said? I agree with your assessment of McCain. It seems with conservatives you have to pass their litmus test on every issue. If their is a single dissagreement (like immigration) they won't support you fully. I think moderates in both parties get the short end of the stick.
Not because what another man said. But what Obama has done for 20 years knowing what his pastor has said, and how he feels. He was hangin with the guy for way too long. Then he says he never knew of Wright's sayings. Then he says his pastor says things Obama doesn't agree with. Then we find they had a meeting over a year ago where Wright says, "They agreed they should seperate were Obama to get further ahead in the race". (Presidential race)
Why's everyone so pissed about this? Because Obama's speaking the truth. Small town America, especially in the Rust Belt, has gotten the shaft time and time again. Oh well, let the spin cycle begin!
Hillary's ad has actual footage of her as a little girl in PA. Its not some political stooge spewing bull shit into the ears of listeners. PA if you vote Obama you're wasting your vote!

I think that Barack Obama is the least full o' Bushitt candidate for president. The other two have been raised in a culture of profound Bushitt and privilage. John McCain, he was priviliged not to be put to death after bombing innocent people and come back a hero. That's privilage. Hillary and McCain both squander the truth, and keep trying to flush it.
Personally, I'm more ticked off at the corporate news media for taking these statements way out of context and showing off what seems to be a Republican inspired fake outrage hard-on ... the fact that Barack Obama's words are proving true in the eyes of the working class and in local politicians from Pennsylvania just seems to further illustrate his original point as being in touch with the pulse of the people ...
You know, as the name would imply, a robocall is being made by a computer, not a person. No one is listening. So yelling into the phone is pretty much retarded.
I think this needs to sound more spontaneous to work. I hate to be superficial, but this mayor just sounds too scripted, and a little dull. Maybe it will work because he's popular or the mayor of a small town - I don't know about those angles - but on its own merits I think it's kind of weak
