My 2004 is the same way. Although, at $27/pc for rotors and $30 for a pair of pads, i'm not getting too worried. I had a 2008 F150 that needed rotors or at least brakes on the rear every 20K.
Well, there two issues causing poor acceleration: spider webs clogging the vapor/emission tubes. Apparently, they are not sealed which caused the computer act compensate incorrectly. The other thing they did "flash" the computer with some kind of patch or upgrade. That's what they told me anyway.
I just bought this exact car yesterday!! Looks amazing and I got it for a steal from the dealership. This is my first car and I knew I wanted it since It came out a few years back.
Worst Honda we've ever owned. Acceleration problems, hard starts and of course premature rear brake wear and warped rotors at less than 10K miles. Dealer refused to help with the brakes but "fixed" the acceleration problem. Checkout carcomplaintsdotcom and you'll see what I mean. Also the body panels are thinner than ever. Be careful when leaning against them, they might crinkle.
Are you kidding? 26 grand for that? That's ridiculous! Here in Canada it would be 36 grand for that trim level! Car companies sell cars way to expensive in Canada and it's not fair
Honda Accord is great, but the 2008 - 2009 models have a well-documented problem with rear brakes causing excessive wear. I've got 30k miles on my 09 Accord and need a 2nd pad replacement now..... that's a brake job each year I've owned it. There's a class action lawsuit out now about it.
@viclavigne their rear brake blows, my moms accord has only over 37000kms we just have them changed, but warrenty got them covered... warrenty, gotta love them lol

My grandparents, parents, wife's family and us have always had Honda. Then we went outside our comfort zone and got a Toyota. Now everyone in our family drives Toyota. Honda's are nice, but Toyota generally is a more reliable, safer, higher quality car.
honda seats seem to be more structured and stiffer then alot of other companys i have noticed...but they do help keep you aligned rather then slumped in a poorly designed seat...know what i mean?
great, my bro got hit in the pass side and he was drivin a 1999 honda accord and got hit by a crown vic, the car is tottalled, but he has his life, if he was in a gmc , the body structure sucks, he would of died, he got hit 40 mph no side airbags, just so great glass didnt break, buy an audi or honda great automakers
i juss bought a 09 accord Lx great car only 177 hp cant complain i love the sound it makes when accelerating but juss wish it could climb hills better overall good car
I have owned one for a year and a half. The tuner is easy to locate and manipulate. It is a great car. The negatives I have noticed are: short brake life and very unreliable remote. On the upside those brakes are probably the most effective I have ever seen.
@steven002 Hi Steven... take the battery out of the remote and it will work excellent. This is a power on, off reset. I have done 2 times and it worked excellent. The brakes are terrible as I have 40K and my front brakes have been replaced twice. Once at 8,000 KM! I do my own auto repairs except brakes. My wife's 2007 CR-V has 75,000 KM and the brakes are still good. I have to find good front discs for the 2008 Accord... not sure where?

the 2.4 litre engine will still burn quite a bit of gas considering the ca weighs almost 3600 pounds. so the v6 is the better option. its like getting a child to lift heavy weights. the job will get done but not as efficient
Well if anything, I must say that the controls are a bit cluttered. (I also have the navigation, I'm sure it's less cluttered without it.) As for the comfort of the seats, I can't complain. It's a solidly built car and you feel it as soon as you sit in it. I recommend getting one highly.
Like, there are a lot of buttons in the same area, close together, and are the same color that make them a bit confusing. You get a feel for it though after a bit of driving.
The suspension is good so far. It provides a really smooth ride, and allows for a bit of sportiness, and I have the same engine that's in the test car in the video. The 2.4L I4 that makes 190 hp and 162 lb. ft. of torque. Off the line acceleration is excellent. I mean it's not crazy fast, but I don't want a crazy fast car. It suits the type of car rather well.
I don't understand why some people won't admit American cars are not good as Japanese. Our 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer (Japanese vehicle) had no trouble at all. Only the engine pistons had to be replaced. For the moment we have a Ford Focus as a rental since the Mitsubishi was dented by some stupid blonde. Although the Mitsubishi is 7 years old, the interior is much better. The focus is TOO plasticy. Honda Accord is the best car you can buy for $20k. that is a fact.
ford focus isn't american. well, the current gen is. but the previous gen was a product of cord europe, was built in belgium, and was designed in england.
the new one sucks because it's designed in america. the current euro focus is great!
if your saying that the previous one, which was indeed AMERICAN, was better than the current focus, aren't you really saying that Ford is moving backwards?!
lmfao! the previous one wasn't american at all. next you'll tell me the pontiac g8 is american. like i said, it was designed in england, built in belgium.
the new american spec ford focus is now designed and made in america, and everybody agrees that the previous model was better.
the current gen euro focus is just as superb as the last one.
the old hatchback was very good. as jeremy clarkson described it, "it was the cigarette that cured cancer". it was fast, fun to drive, practical, economical, cheap, and cheap to insure.
what more could you want?
and for your info, the new focus is not better, idk where you got that from.
most of the focus are sedans, and they are better with better sound systems and sync. the design is more up to date , and i like the grill. but i still don't like the car. fusion sold more last month than that mess.
just shut up, you obviously dont know anything about cars if a) you think the sound system and the grill are important to a car, and b) if you do not know who jeremy clarkson is.
stick to your underengineered overpriced new focus, or wait a few months for the fiesta to be imported. you'll probably dismiss it as "gay" or "uncool" or however you described the focus hatch, but the fact is that it is the best driving, best handling, and best performing car for the money.
i have an 2008 honda accord lx-p and it looks great. the interior is also good but the driver seat makes my back hurt after 20 mins of driving it in any position i put it in. I only get an average of 20 miles combined which i didnt expect from honda and so far didnt get any brake problems that lots of other owners of this car has been complaining about. Also this car has horrible acceration. i think i might trade it in soon for a car with better gas mileage and better acceration.
I'm not, I just got my 2009 Malibu yesterday and it's much nicer than the Accord. I bet it'll last too; I've already read about people having problems with the new Accord.
Also, when GM finally goes bankrupt, good luck with your warranty when the LIM gaskets start leaking, rotors warp, power windows, steering pump, and turn signal flasher all fail before you even hit 10,000 miles on the car.
The government plans to back the warranties if any one of the big three goes under. As I said before, I'm not worried about having problems with my Malibu. The new Accord already has some owners complaining which is in contrast with the high satisfaction that they've had with the Malibu.
Too little, too late. GM has built crap cars for far too long and Americans have had enough. I'll take a few complaints about the new Accord over countless years of complaints about GM vehicles in general.
Ya, we all know GM made mistakes; they admitted to it finally. The difference now is that they're correcting them car by car. The Malibu, CTS, Enclave, '10 Volt, '11 Cruze, '10 Equinox, '10 SRX, '10 LaCrosse are just some examples. It's tough though with those damn unions!
Actually, through comparison in person, I found the 2009 Malibu to have better styling inside and out, and better materials and build quality than the 2009 Honda Accord. That's why I bought a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu's interior is not cheap at all. I found excellent design, ease of use and details to be lacking in the Accord; things that all Malibus have. I'd rather be seen in a nice American car than a ricer anyway. Also, I'd prefer that you don't suck my dick, that's just obscene.
the only thing that could make you a bigger looser than denying the fact that GM is inferior garbage, always has been always will be, simply because your jealous...is actually beleiving what you just said.
while they should be competing with cars like infinities, acuras, or lexus's...even GM's premium caddy brands feel cheaper and shittier than simple camry's, accords and maxima's.
I've never seen such a garbage interior in a midsize sedan as the 2009 Honda Accord. With a mass of buttons, and a design that doesn't flow, the interior fails to be useful and comfortable.
Products such as the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, 2010 Cadillac SRX, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 Buick LaCrosse, 2010 Cadillac CTS wagon, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, and 2011 Chevrolet Volt are just some examples of soon to be class leading products. Can't forget some other facts as well. GM currently has the largest selection of hybrids availible. Also, foriegn automobile manufacturers don't have to make the same UAW concessions that GM has had to for years, which severly impedes their ability to compete.
dude, gm has never made cars that outlast fereign products. ever. ever...gm has always used cheap shitty materials, with absolute garbage customer service. typical, american, GARBAGE...
brand new cadillac's reek of cheap fake shit garbage, fuck your sell out domestic shit.
have ever owned a gm product or a cadillac before cause it sounds like u have a lot experience but if u never had one before then how do you know its garbage?
cadillacs are very good fucking cars they keep their looks and dont look like shit after a few years u buy a benz or a bmw looks good while its new but after new models come out they lose their looks n get mechanical problems on some to where a cadillac is running and looking good for a long time gm n cadillacs are still running around even if their 10 yrs old hondas are good but dont put cadillac into this
You know what? BMWs are far more reliable than a Cadillac. Even Asian countries use BMWs and not Cadillacs. This shows how much trust BMW can gain from the public. Keep their good looks? Collectors sue each other just to have a rare BMW in their possession. A Cadillac can just loose its good looks as easy as a piece of molded piece of fruit. Look at the Cadillac Allante. Drastically underpowered. Even the Japanese can win YOU in this competition.
I agree. Cadillacs can't even enter the Asian market. More or less the European. Thats why they only stay in the US. Look at Honda, Toyota. Kia and Hyundai. BMW and Mercedes. All of them manage to enter the Asian and European market and manage to gain trust by the public for safety and comfort.
i own honda accord 08 lxp. been having the problem the week after i got this dam car. they says its 32 mile per gallon highway its all b.s i tested every way it wont give me more then 19 + ... with in 3 months had to put the new braeks almost cost $300. from seats are really bad. i think the body is too have from the car engin . i will tell everyone not to buy this car . i am stuck with this shit and so u will be too .its look nice and everything but not worth that money .
i own same one, but no navi.. just get one and you will love it... just feel like 35k car... i also own yamaha r6 2005 and i like POWER!!!! so i'am crazy power thirsty and i4 is not enough... get v6 if u can afford
(Exaggerated version of you) Lets compare the Murcielago to the Accord. If I am a buyer who wants AWD ill get the Murcielago since the Accord doesnt have AWD. LOL According to your youtube profile you are not a very nice person. You are those people who want to argue for no reason. Lets just end the conversation and if you want info on Honda's or any other make then go to the dealership and ask them. You are not benefiting anyone with your conversation so end it because you're not making sense.
Just bought the car recently almost the exact thing as the video but without the navi. So far I am loving the car. It is massive and comfortable to drive. The workmen ship of the Accord is much better than the Nissan Altima. Camry is a nice ride but since Accord just came out i think its bigger, more luxurious and more comfortable than the cars in it's class. The only downside to this car is parking, it's a little difficult to park this big boy due to it's size.
Honda can easily get an AWD Accord but that would drive the prices to go up and no one is willing to pay more especially with the economies down in the whole world plus high gas prices. Honda is smart for not implementing the AWD in the Accord because they would not generate enough sales. BTW Honda does have one of the best AWD technologies in the market, maybe you have heard of SH-AWD that is used on most Acuras. If you want a Honda with AWD buy the TL or RL that come with the optional SH-AWD.
Other sedans like the Lexus or Subaru are still churning out AWD vehicles and selling well even during this fuel crises etc. The SH-AWD is actually not really a true AWD perse (unlike other AWDs which use differentials (e.g. torsen)). It is more or less an electromagnetic clutch one. Therefore it's not as hard durable as that in Subaru (for instance).
LOL You just hate Honda's or Accords because you are just talking nonsense. You are comparing an Accord to a Subaru or Lexus LOL Try comparing the Accord to the Camry and the Mazda 6 or the Altima instead of a Subaru or a Lexus which costs way more and they are totally different cars in different class. Look at price range, look at consumers, look at these details then you class the car accordingly.
"It is more or less an electromagnetic clutch one. Therefore it's not as hard durable as that in Subaru (for instance)." Please educate yourself before you speak. Think before you speak and if you have nothing to say then don't make up stuff because you will really look stupid.
we had this as a rental car from hertz, base model..it was GREAT for 17,000$ it felt like 22,000 it was great they want to buy it for my sister in a year since shes driving now. except give her a 22,000$ model.
Finally someone else realized it!! It looks like a 5-series inside. especially the presentation of the navigation screen. quite beautiful in my opinion.
Well obviously the 328i is the better car if you're going for a sports car. The Accord is pretty fun to drive considering it's a family sedan, but it can't match the lighter, more powerful (335i) 3 series.
dont make sense...i just watched the video of the malibu and he said that the malibu feels more powerful than the accord but accord 190hp goes 0-60 in 8 sec and malibu 4cyl goes 0-60 in 9 sec...dont make sense
My 2004 is the same way. Although, at $27/pc for rotors and $30 for a pair of pads, i'm not getting too worried. I had a 2008 F150 that needed rotors or at least brakes on the rear every 20K.

just stop being jealous of honda
alexkvaskov 3 years ago
I'm not, I just got my 2009 Malibu yesterday and it's much nicer than the Accord. I bet it'll last too; I've already read about people having problems with the new Accord.
GeneralMotorsRules 3 years ago
No matter how much nicer it is or how much longer it lasts, after 3 years it will never have a higher resale value than a Honda Accord.
jlip001 3 years ago
Don't care a damn about resale value actually. I buy cars to keep them until they quit.
GeneralMotorsRules 3 years ago
Also, when GM finally goes bankrupt, good luck with your warranty when the LIM gaskets start leaking, rotors warp, power windows, steering pump, and turn signal flasher all fail before you even hit 10,000 miles on the car.
jlip001 3 years ago
The government plans to back the warranties if any one of the big three goes under. As I said before, I'm not worried about having problems with my Malibu. The new Accord already has some owners complaining which is in contrast with the high satisfaction that they've had with the Malibu.
GeneralMotorsRules 3 years ago
Too little, too late. GM has built crap cars for far too long and Americans have had enough. I'll take a few complaints about the new Accord over countless years of complaints about GM vehicles in general.
jlip001 3 years ago
Ya, we all know GM made mistakes; they admitted to it finally. The difference now is that they're correcting them car by car. The Malibu, CTS, Enclave, '10 Volt, '11 Cruze, '10 Equinox, '10 SRX, '10 LaCrosse are just some examples. It's tough though with those damn unions!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.....AAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...HAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
.....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA malibu's suck cheaply made sell out COCK....nicer than a honda AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
show me a fucking GM car that outlasts a honda, and ill suck your dick personally..
what a fuckin looser
SAPTdelta 3 years ago
Actually, through comparison in person, I found the 2009 Malibu to have better styling inside and out, and better materials and build quality than the 2009 Honda Accord. That's why I bought a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu's interior is not cheap at all. I found excellent design, ease of use and details to be lacking in the Accord; things that all Malibus have. I'd rather be seen in a nice American car than a ricer anyway. Also, I'd prefer that you don't suck my dick, that's just obscene.
GeneralMotorsRules 3 years ago
the only thing that could make you a bigger looser than denying the fact that GM is inferior garbage, always has been always will be, simply because your jealous...is actually beleiving what you just said.
while they should be competing with cars like infinities, acuras, or lexus's...even GM's premium caddy brands feel cheaper and shittier than simple camry's, accords and maxima's.
09 hyndai> malibu....frealz..
SAPTdelta 3 years ago
I've never seen such a garbage interior in a midsize sedan as the 2009 Honda Accord. With a mass of buttons, and a design that doesn't flow, the interior fails to be useful and comfortable.

You would know, I see comments by you everywhere. In fact, I've seen many comments from you making fun of American cars, hmmm.

GeneralMotorsRules 3 years ago
dude, gm has never made cars that outlast fereign products. ever. ever...gm has always used cheap shitty materials, with absolute garbage customer service. typical, american, GARBAGE...
brand new cadillac's reek of cheap fake shit garbage, fuck your sell out domestic shit.
SAPTdelta 3 years ago
have ever owned a gm product or a cadillac before cause it sounds like u have a lot experience but if u never had one before then how do you know its garbage?
myshell123 3 years ago
cadillacs are very good fucking cars they keep their looks and dont look like shit after a few years u buy a benz or a bmw looks good while its new but after new models come out they lose their looks n get mechanical problems on some to where a cadillac is running and looking good for a long time gm n cadillacs are still running around even if their 10 yrs old hondas are good but dont put cadillac into this
mchz123 3 years ago
You know what? BMWs are far more reliable than a Cadillac. Even Asian countries use BMWs and not Cadillacs. This shows how much trust BMW can gain from the public. Keep their good looks? Collectors sue each other just to have a rare BMW in their possession. A Cadillac can just loose its good looks as easy as a piece of molded piece of fruit. Look at the Cadillac Allante. Drastically underpowered. Even the Japanese can win YOU in this competition.
csihardfan111 2 years ago
I agree. Cadillacs can't even enter the Asian market. More or less the European. Thats why they only stay in the US. Look at Honda, Toyota. Kia and Hyundai. BMW and Mercedes. All of them manage to enter the Asian and European market and manage to gain trust by the public for safety and comfort.
csihardfan111 2 years ago
but americans r special.But still I prefer Japanese,Koreans,n Eropeans

coandcaiv 3 years ago
it depends on how you drive your car. You won't always get 32mpg. The accord is still a good car
skbuoy 3 years ago 2

(Exaggerated version of you) Lets compare the Murcielago to the Accord. If I am a buyer who wants AWD ill get the Murcielago since the Accord doesnt have AWD. LOL According to your youtube profile you are not a very nice person. You are those people who want to argue for no reason. Lets just end the conversation and if you want info on Honda's or any other make then go to the dealership and ask them. You are not benefiting anyone with your conversation so end it because you're not making sense.

I also have a 2008 Accord same color. The only thing missing is rear a/c.
jesdl7 3 years ago
This is the best looking Accord in many, many years. I just wish they would have sculpted the trunklid into the rear bumper.
ghrpdx 3 years ago
Just bought the car recently almost the exact thing as the video but without the navi. So far I am loving the car. It is massive and comfortable to drive. The workmen ship of the Accord is much better than the Nissan Altima. Camry is a nice ride but since Accord just came out i think its bigger, more luxurious and more comfortable than the cars in it's class. The only downside to this car is parking, it's a little difficult to park this big boy due to it's size.

Is the 2008 Honda Accord an AWD?
7olusegun 3 years ago
no its front wheel drive
briboy92 3 years ago
FWD
sadr789 3 years ago
O.K. tanx; but aint honda lazy enough not producing an AWD accord (even if it's optional)?
7olusegun 3 years ago
Honda can easily get an AWD Accord but that would drive the prices to go up and no one is willing to pay more especially with the economies down in the whole world plus high gas prices. Honda is smart for not implementing the AWD in the Accord because they would not generate enough sales. BTW Honda does have one of the best AWD technologies in the market, maybe you have heard of SH-AWD that is used on most Acuras. If you want a Honda with AWD buy the TL or RL that come with the optional SH-AWD.
sadr789 3 years ago
Other sedans like the Lexus or Subaru are still churning out AWD vehicles and selling well even during this fuel crises etc. The SH-AWD is actually not really a true AWD perse (unlike other AWDs which use differentials (e.g. torsen)). It is more or less an electromagnetic clutch one. Therefore it's not as hard durable as that in Subaru (for instance).
7olusegun 3 years ago
LOL You just hate Honda's or Accords because you are just talking nonsense. You are comparing an Accord to a Subaru or Lexus LOL Try comparing the Accord to the Camry and the Mazda 6 or the Altima instead of a Subaru or a Lexus which costs way more and they are totally different cars in different class. Look at price range, look at consumers, look at these details then you class the car accordingly.
sadr789 3 years ago
"It is more or less an electromagnetic clutch one. Therefore it's not as hard durable as that in Subaru (for instance)." Please educate yourself before you speak. Think before you speak and if you have nothing to say then don't make up stuff because you will really look stupid.

O.K. tell me what you know concerning this issue. I might look stupid, but what do you have to say?

i like da fact dat Honda use a lil bit BMW design.Besides,Honda looks better than BMW.
KPKonliner 2 years ago
I disagree. The Accord is the only exception in my opinion. The rest of Honda's lineup looks either weird or cheap.
CARFANATIC552 2 years ago
actually, accord's headlights use a lil bit BMW 5 series design n also da rear lights.
KPKonliner 2 years ago
since your a carfan than do you think honda accord is better? or the bmw 328i
thecarexpert18 2 years ago
Well obviously the 328i is the better car if you're going for a sports car. The Accord is pretty fun to drive considering it's a family sedan, but it can't match the lighter, more powerful (335i) 3 series.
