Sharing is a dirty word. Any effort we make must be paid for by someone. Any product we desire we expect to pay for. Community is also a dirty word. An interested neighbor is called nosey. Privacy fences are standard. There are no open spaces for gathering together. Sustainability is actively hampered by most city laws by banning chickens and small animal husbandry. The industrial machine which is our country doesn't want us to be sustainable. But we can try and we can change. Thanks.

A foodshed profile based social networking site would be really cool. It could pool together people living close to each other for sharing what they grow locally while giving internet onlookers something to be inspired by. Participants could offer anything from indoor herbs to the bounty of a thriving garden ...just a thought.
