  • Frank Sutton and Jim were very close friends ad Jim said that he was nothing like his Sgt Carter role

  • One of the best underated actors every, died way to soon.

  • Dam you  Pyle,dam you!

  • I HAD IT WITH YOU PYLE I.. I can't talk. lol

  • Poor Frank Sutton strains vocals chords and loses his voice by yelling at Jim Nabors.

  • is it super sped up if you play it in 360 for anyone else?

  • Oh, you Jarheads!

    A Lieutenant Colonel is addressed as "Colonel";

    A Second Lieutenant is addressed as "Lieutenant";

    A Brigadier General is addressed as "General";

    So a Gunnery Sergeant is a "Sergeant".

    Get over yourselves...better yet, DROP AND GIVE ME 20!!!

  • @starguy2718 yeah have fun addressing a Gunnery Sergeant in my Marine Corps as "sarge" or even as a Sergeant. Unlike the other branches we EARN our ranks and earned the right to be called as such. And as for Officers we never address them as such above when speaking to them unless we are of higher rank but as for the ones who work for a living we address them as "Sir" or "Ma'am" out of respect for the rank. Same goes for enlisted.

  • @Sirmovesalot17 : Wow. I'll just bet that you Jarheads even hyphenate "anal retentive".

  • @starguy2718 I bet you think that attempt at an insult was actually funny

  • @Sirmovesalot17: Why, yes I did. Thanks for noticing!

  • @Sirmovesalot17 Whatever SARGE. How are you liking the mARINES. lol

  • Wow, Gomer slipped away with that one just at the right moment.

  • Why do they call him Sgt. Carter when his rank is Gunnery Sgt.? Two different ranks. Try calling a Gunnery Sgt. a Sgt. and see how they react. Marines are very specific.

  • @mbd1968

    To be honest I always thought Frank Sutton made this show. Pyle was OK but Sutton stole the show.

  • @mbd1968 I've been wondering that for awhile now. i think it's just for the sake of Hollywood simplicity. Like, what sounds better?

    "Well Gaw-arsh Sarge!" or "Well Gaw-arsh Gunny!"

  • YES! finnaly the human microphone loses his voice

  • Only a knucklehead like Pyle could make Carter lose his voice.

  • YEAH!! he is a knuckle head! my brother calls me that all the time!!

  • lol @ carter with his big mouth and then loses it lmao

  • Sargent Carter was just trying to turn Boys into men, and thats what Boot Camp was all about....Frank Sutton ,God Rest His Soul is Gone and no longer with us...

  • look at slater looking at carter thats funny too

  • IM NOT MADE OUT OF STEEL classic

  • Except that no Marine drill sergeant would lose his cool as quickly as Sgt. Carter did.

    No Marine sergeant would act like that.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Why did Frank Sutton never win an Emmy??!?!! A modern movie remake of GP would never play this Sgt. Carter character as well as he did!

  • @jed6271 He sure deserved 1, he even looked like a USMC bulldog lol

  • Character actors like Frank Sutton must be one in a million.

    This sitcom is so funny and is deservedly now a part of television Americana.

  • "Character actors like Frank Sutton must be one in a million"

    Oh please! One in a million??? I'd say about one in 999,847.

  • @mesmeridium -i think it wasnt a stretch for him--he was probably a trigger happy hot-head and loved yelling-and probably the writers and exec producers wrote it in that way -like they did for dr smith--he had a free range to almost say anything-youre right-and these days it cant happen as they dont let any character develop well,, like in the 60s/70s comedies-thx for posting a segment of a great actor and show--they dont make em like that anymore-in fact i dont know what they do , these days.

  • @mesmeridium It sure does sweetie, Jim and Frank were very good friends, Jim was devastated when Frank died of a sudden heart attack in shreveport La

  • It was funny when Carter lost his voice. Maybe that'll teach him to mellow out and groove with the scene.lol

  • When I saw Forrest Gump for the first time on the big screen, I couldn't help but see the similarities int he relationship between Gump and Lieutenant Dan, and Pyle and Carter. Robert Zemeckis must have done that on purpose! :)

  • Frank sutton and gomer made a great team! Thanx for posting!

  • Wow! How intense Frank would get in his role its easy to see how he died of a heart attack

  • it wasnt because of his role or acting at all it may have been that he smoked 18 cigars a day. But no matter what or how...........Frank Sutton was a seriously funny actor!!

  • lol

  • Lol, I love this show! Thanks for posting : ) 5/5.

  • I remember this episode. Thanks for posting, you knucklehead.

  • Funny! I always remember this show being on really early in the morning, like 6:00am before I had to go to school. Sgt Carter was the best and made the show if you ask me.
