WOW! Very nice "REAL" video! I really really really want to stay at Masai village too. I felt I belong to Masai since I was 5 years old when I saw them on TV for the first time. May be I was a Masai in another life... I read every book I could find about Masai and I collect their wedding bead works. I love Masai and I truly believe they are the most beautiful people. Could you give me a tip how I can plan a trip to stay at Masai Village? Thank you for the nice Video!
Hi i am part of a charity and we stay in Kenya with a small tribe a few times a year. I have always been fascinated by the Maasai and In January i met some Maasai people for the first time. They became good friends and i am fortunate enough to have been invited to stay with them in August. Watching your video was really interesting and nicely done.
You had an amazing trip! And, yes, our Massai experience was totally overwhelming. Outside the village we spoke with several young men who were "modernized" Massai and they told us they believed in just one wife. They talked about how hard it was to break with the older people on these things. Wonderful people. I was interested to learn that the Massai were never touched by slavery.
Thanks. We were just very lucky to meet a Masai man in the National Park as it was getting dark and then spend a night in this village.
In other parts of Africa we experienced the "tourist" Masai villages. I cannot begin to explain how rewarding it was to spend a night in a "real" Masai village. The villagers here really struggled to understand why Andy had only one wife, and I had no wives.
We rated this in our top 2 experiences in Africa. (along with summitting Kilimanjaro)
