  • I worked at radioshack for about 3 years. I have to say that this is all correct and it really is a horrible place to work. I recommend no one try to work there and also suggest that people shop elsewhere.

  • Right on man. I work at radio shack now, Hate my job, everything you said is true. Its even worse now. You make NO money off battery's and the commission off phones has been lowered. They expect people to get sales and are pressured yet, we make nothing off of it. I have management experience and they blew me off, its a shame,. DONT WORK FOR RADIO SHACK!! worst company EVER!

  • Nice video Gamestop is my dream job

  • Wow. I'm reading all these horror stories about RS. I am trying to get a job at one, but all this is freaking me out. I'm not trying to be a manager or whatever, but just a regular sales guy. I'm just trying to work seasonal (summer). I'm a college student and my college isn't in the city that I live in (out of school). Would working at RS not be worth it over a 3-4 month period (assuming I could get the job)? My only alternative would be returning to a fast-food job I had prior. Thanks!

  • @Houndf Hey buddy, it may not be bad for temporary work. It really all boils down to how you manager is. If things are slow and you're not selling cell phones then it may become a situation where you are being pressured by management to make sales. I would never go back and work for them again, but it may work out for you - especially considering that you're only planning on doing it as seasonal. Good luck!

  • I'm glad you chose not to mention your current work, we should all be grateful for the jobs we have. i know sometimes they suck, but they put food on the table and have meaning. Still, it does look like you like your current employment. Have you thought about doing an updated PS2 collection? That set of videos was my favorite, be nice to see what it looks like (my own PS2 collection expanded thanks to you lol)

  • @kyuss015 Thanks for the comment. I'm definitely going to eventually get around to making an updated PS2 collection video. It's a great system and I need to show it some love soon. Hopefully you'll see something in the next few weeks!

  • Sorry for posting a second comment. Great video. Late Night let's ride! Nice! Also, thanks for mentioning my channel! It means a lot, bro!

  • @CollectorGeorge No problem buddy!

  • Grat video, Tom! Sounds like Radioshack treats their employees and managers like shit. They probably don't pay very well either. This is a great let's ride video, and I can't wait to see the Play N Trade footage! =D

  • I feel your pain. I worked 6 days a week for 10 years. I couldn't take it anymore. A gamestop video sounds great.

  • @lvpepe38 Wow, 6 days a week for 10 years! It's a wonder you didn't go crazy... you're stronger than me!

  • Why does gamestop throw away good games sometime and why do they sale stuff for one cent

  • Another great vid, bro! Really enjoy hearing your stories. There use to be a couple of Radio Shacks in my area, but now there's only 2. I only go there as a last resort if I can find any equipment elsewhere.

I hear you, bro. I use to work a job where I regularly worked 6 days a week - I was making decent amount of money but was too tired to enjoy things.

I wonder if the Toys R'Us employees make commission off battery sales, since they always 100% push me to buy batteries. lol

  • @JodeciMudvayne Thanks buddy! It's impossible to have a life outside of work when you're working 6 days a week... talk about being depressed! The way TRU employees push batteries you would think they were making commission :) Probably just another example of a company using scare tactics in an attempt to get their employees to push add-ons.

  • I think one of the worst parts in a job is sucking up to your boss. I swear it really makes me feel like crap!

  • @uberkewl19 I've done my fair share of sucking up to bosses... I've been a manager for years, but I've always had a District Manager that I've had to kiss up to. Seems like most people in power want a bunch of "Yes" people working for them.

  • Damn man, i'll remember to stay away from Radioshack then bro cause i'm looking for a job atm but didn't know Radioshack was that stressful of a job. What state you live in btw dude?

  • @LMA187 Thanks for the comment bro! I definitely recommend not working for RS... if you go a few days without a cell phone sale they start putting the pressure on you. I live in Delaware.

  • great video, never worked at radioshack. I go there once in a while to get a few components. I did like the store more maybe 10-15+ years ago...seems like they had more variety of electrical components and better quality.

The guys there are cool, but once in a while I get hounded to buy a cell phone lol :)

  • @thomas3120 Most of the employees at RS are decent, but you will get the occasional cell phone sale offer :)

RS was a better company years ago, but they've gone downhill fast...

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Really enjoyable man, I am really starting to like the let's ride videos! Also I almost feel bad for anyone working at radio shack.

  • @blue2kid3 Thanks buddy! Yeah I pity RS employees... definitely not a desirable company to work for.

  • good stuff i enjoy the lets ride episodes looking forward to the gamestop vid

  • @MrSportsking5 Thanks buddy! Appreciate the support!

  • Hmm that does a bit gay, you get to alot of different areas? eh?

  • @lukeywookey1234 Yeah, it was a horrible job. I pretty much stay in the same areas for the most part... some of my vids may appear to be in different areas, but usually they are within a 30 mile radius.

  • I feel you I worked for them a while ago and lasted 3 months...it was torture!!

  • @ilianieves I wouldn't work for RS ever again, even if I had to dig ditches all day I would rather do that.

  • Great video once again bro hey in my opinion about radioshack I never thought of the demands of working at a place like that. I was recently thinking about working at bestbuy, Im not going to lie gamestop was in my mind too. I would love to get a more bigger picture of what it was like to work at gamestop because for me the one in my area is a shit fest when it comes to the over all service.

  • @jugghead82 Thanks bro! GameStop service is hit or miss it seems... most of the stores around here are decent, but I know that overall the company provides horrible service. I'll definitely throw up a GameStop vid here soon!

  • Long ago I tried to apply for a radioshack job and I had to get an interview at a stor that was like an hour and a half away it was dumb and then I didn't get hired. Apparently they can't interview you at the store your trying to apply for

  • @transparencypro It's strange, the way it works is some managers have the ability to interview and hire, and then other managers don't. For some reason they didn't trust me to interview people and hire them, even though I had the experience of interviewing and hiring. Oh well, that company can piss off :)

  • intresting

  • a video on gamestop would be awesome. I'm moving down to Southern California for college and I was thinking of getting a job at gamestop since its only 1/2 a mile away from the campus.

  • @techdude6693 I'll hopefully have a video posted on the subject soon!
