If I had a window I would try to use that instead. If it is a solid wall I would pierce it with a halligan first to make sure I am in the right place and that nothing is on the other side. That is a lot of work to find that the downed firefighters are in the next room over or that an impassable object is behind the wall. Also, I prefer a low small hole that only needs to be big enough to get one firefighter out at a time. You can also pierce the wall with a halligan to get an airline in.
For the second approach, you need to make sure you take into account the internal construction of a cinderblock. The weakest points are not the center but off center where the block is hollow. Just a bit of advice. Stay safe out there!
@850fireman Im not bein a "hater" but this was frickin training for when the windows ARENT there. yes windows are preferred entry points, but what we gonna do when windows arent there?......... bust a wall.
How about an example of how quick they can get through when someone fills the void of the cinder blocks with concrete and rebar like you are *supposed* to do?
Coachramsies you are an idiot! These guys are training to save lives... their own or possibly your!!! Show some gratitude. You probably don't have what it takes to be one of us anyway!
@Coachramsies it was probably a training structure meant specificaly for that. you might want to learn about what your talking about before u talk fucker.
@Coachramsies I am going to assume you're a "troll." If you're not a "troll" then I am going to assume you're an idiot and explain. That is probably a house that was going to be torn down so it was donated to the fire department for training. If you don't know what a troll is urban dictionary it or something.

I did this once all by myself with only a six pound hammer. That one looks like a 10 pounder.

Whose house is this? What a waste. I would live there...You know how many people don't have houses?

I think if they did fill the blocks properly with typical FD manning it would be virtually impossible. Try and find another way?...
