  • you must really love your hermit crabs. The more space and climbing area the happier the crab.

  • why are there egg shells? Hermit crabs can eat those?

  • too small for 19 crabs, but it's an awesome set up!

  • Well ummm... I have a rather large cage with 2 houses and a big coral. Substrate is sand from the beach.

  • o.o Damn those hermies have it made! They are living in a jungle utopia. Kudos on the design

  • Awesome I wish I had that tank for my hermit crabs

  • This is nice!

  • I have to say this is the best crabitat I have seen yet! so creative. awesome job!

  • you should change ur tank to like suit the hermit crab instead of making it all pirate stuff when i saw ur tank i immediatly thought u made a tank for fashion not a crab......ur shell shop was cool though it would be better if u added something to climb up to the high basket

  • @mastermattmatt Explain to me how it is not suited for hermit crabs? If you paid attention to the video there is more than one way to get to the shells.. Also, I don't see your point about fashion over practicality.. It's 80g, it's in my living room, obviously I wanted it to look nice. They have more than everything they require so your point is moot at best.

  • good job

  • This is an awsome tank! I was wondering how you made the shell shop?

  • @177onitor Bought two bamboo baskets, threaded them together with some clear fishing line. Mounted them on the tank using 3M hooks. Used the decoration to hold it up well. At 0:56 you can see a vine holding up the basket. It's a lot better, I don't have to dig up shells everyday and they stay cleaner, longer

  • where did you get that waterfall

  • @wall507 I made it. Got the fake rock, skull, mounted skull on rock by drilling tiny holes and threading some fishing line. got cheap pump, 18 inch tubing and a big tupperware. Put it all together and insta-waterfall. Just be sure you have no trickle going overboard or you'll end up with a flooded tank like it happened to me once. Enjoy!

  • Man u luv 2 spoil your hemit crabs.God this setup is sick

  • Comment removed

  • @mad4animals13 They were able to climb out using the mesh on the sides of the tupperware

  • FREAKING AWSOME

  • I buy nets off of the

    hermitcrabaddictionstore

  • I buy most of my plants at the dollarama, I live in canada, so whatever equivelent you guys have in the states. I find it a lot cheaper for plants, I got the shower caddies there too.

  • @Chibipayne Oooooh. Hmm, never heard of that before. Oh well, I'll check out the website. Thanks for your advice! :)

  • Where do you get all the stuff? Like, trees and stuff. I love my hermies and want the best so if you could tell me? That would be great - thanks.

  • Soo cool

  • Coolest tank ever

  • This setup is way old though, my tank has upgraded since :D. The waterfall was pretty simple, a tiny pump (you can use a filter if you don't want to clean the water as often), bought some tubing at my hardware store. There is a hole in the back of the skull, the tube goes in there and it's tied to his eye socket with some fishing line. The waterfall itself was in a big tupperware.

  • @Chibipayne Hey could you please give me a little more info on this please? I bought my tank second hand and it came with a pump and filter and a tube, but having never kept fish before I don't really understand what the parts do and I hid them all away at the back of a cupboard. It would be good if I could put it to use and mimic your waterfall!

  • @MrBThatsMe I got a big tupperware. The pump needs to be submerged in the water, the pump and tubing are hidden behind the plastic rock. I driller little holes into the rock and skull and twined some fishing line through them so that they were stuck together. You just need your tube to be higher than the pump and you get a home made waterfall, you can use real rock or whatever, just make sure the water falls back into the tubberware or you'll end up with all the water in your substrate.

  • @Chibipayne What pump do you use? I have a Fluval 2 Plus which is huge! At least in terms of making a waterfall because the water needs to be about 8 inches deep. I think it pumps out 400 litres p/h too which creates a bit of a hose pipe. I just want enough water to make a trickle, since my tank is smaller than yours. Any ideas?

  • @MrBThatsMe I bought a 5$ pump from my pet store.. does the job, although it is not a filter. Does the job perfect. You really don't need much power to get the water up 18 inches of tubing.

  • That's only 1 of my tanks. I have a tank with two corn snakes and another with a ball python

  • dude you should put something wayyyyy cooler in that tank its wayyy to badass 4 a crab lol

  • That's the most badass thing I've ever seen xD

  • Nice

  • hey. i NEED to know how you made that fountain. i have that same skull you used. please let me know. thanks :) you have the ultimate hermit crab tank. i bet they love you lol

  • That is one big tank I wish I hed itq :(

  • that is way better than my hermit crab tank :D

    mine only a 35 gallon

  • i thought it was 80 grams

  • I use eco-earth for my tank. I buy most of my plant items at the dollarstore, the nets I bought of the crab addiction store. The waterfall worked well although I took it out because after a day or two there wouln't be any more water because it all got splashed out. I gotta fix that and make something else out of it. :)
