They closed Slovak schools, Slovaks had to learn Magyar language in schools, it was forbidden to publish books in Slovak..
The first documents about Slovak culture and language were found in Žilina and it's from years 1000-1200.
The oldest text written in Magyar is from 1192, Slovak is from 1208.

Raz som na mal na jednom webe možnosť vypočuť si hymny z celého sveta. Nieže by som bol nejaký veľký národniar ( čo som, len nie veľký :D ) ale myslím že máme jednu z najkrajších hymien na svete... A ešte ruská je krásna... Dokonca aj americká, ale tá má neskutočne ohavný text...

@MrJP0729 If you was born in the USA you are American and it doesn't matter wher your parents came from, but I think as you reach 18 years you can ask for Slovak citizenship but I think it's much better at the moment to be American than Slovak in your case.

I'm not Slovakian, but all the haters can go suck a big, fat, hairy gorilla dick. Slovakia has a tremendous national anthem, and the lyrics were a great summary of the win over Italy in the 2010 World Cup. (That includes the third and fourth stanzas that aren't sung.... Oh, and that was a great slideshow!

Yes, it's a pity, but it's true. Magyars occupied Slovakia (and other countries) for 946years, there are hundreds of documents about it. They were doing everything to destroy our culture. They closed Slovak schools, Slovaks had to learn Magyar language in schools, it was forbidden to publish books in Slovak..
The first documents about Slovak culture and language were found in Žilina and it's from years 1000-1200.
The oldest text written in Magyar is from 1192, Slovak is from 1208.

Instead of giving the hungarians THANKS because this anthem is hungarian folksong which was rewritten by slovaks (kopala studienku) and later Matusko (1844) they was damning and hate hungarians.

things. But Slovak economy is growing, we are in EU, we have euro, we had a IIHF Championship in Bratislava this year...I think that in near future Slovakia will be a more ambitious country to do that things that you say.
