Think some are forgetting The Butterfly Effect in stating the best Aussie contemporary bands...i'm from the other side of the world, so maybe it's easier to see it objectively.

I'd say: TBE, Vool, DLC, (Melodyssey? -if they're still playing, their rise stopped a bit imo) is the cream of the new aussie school

I've listened to some Solverchair and I think these two bands are not to be compared. I'm not by any means saying that Silverchair isn't good, but the good thing of DLC is that they have a very fresh and original "sound", both instrumentally and vocally. that's incredible, because the more years that pass, the less revolutionary music comes out, almost everything has been thought of.
