  • sounds like the ortodox music in some parts with nice comas.

  • Pourquoi la main sur l'oreille enfet?

  • Superbe

  • It is very great music, I didnt listen before Corsican music. it reminds me Georgian music, they do polyphonic folklore music as well..Thanks

  • viva corsica!!!!

  • La paghjella c'est un chant polyphonique traditionnel corse, le mot n'a pas de définition précise. Voilà Ettelra :)

  • Great performance!

I was able to study paghjellas for about two weeks when I visited Corsica.

Wish I could learn more of them. They are fantastic.

    Regards from America.

  • magnifique, cette harmonie des voix! je ne me lasse pas de l'entendre! qui pourrait me dire ce que "paghjella" signifie? merci!

  • rien à ajouter ... C SUBLIME....

  • mystifying! in my country(puerto rico) there are a lot of corsicans (alas, in origins only, they dont speak the language anymore) . its is interesting to think that they were probably singing this kind of music in my country during the 19th century when they arrived.

  • Thank you very much for your nice comment Acorduente.

    Hasta luego è feliz ano!

  • ქართულია!!!!!

  • Bravooo watch?v=jP5CQOWUrqI

  • nice. it's like georgian songs.

  • similar to Georgian polyphony

  • O my God, this is just incredible...

It is very noteworthy in the first place to find polyphonic singing in folk music in the first place. But this style, with voices going their own ways like this, must simply be hellishly difficult. The voices seems almost independent from each other, yet they fit together as perfectly as in a simple chorale. The complex rhythm figures and sometimes poignant dissonants are unlike anything in classical music...

  • A big thank you for your message Steinbach1984. No need to be a great singer to start singing the paghjella or know music theory. The secret is in the harmony that arises during the mixing of three votes. Just be three singers around a bottle of good wine.

The paghjella is a real drug, impossible to stop after having tasted.

  • FABULOUS, everything is from Corsica.

  • c pour kan dotre paghjella

  • that was incredible. how old is this style of singing?

also: does every paghjella follow the same harmonic pattern?

  • c pour kan une prochaine chanson

  • Très bien!

    Tres tres bien :)

Et puis geniale version Karaoke, ca va faire fureur :D

  • je vou remercie a vou car vou nou faite ecouter des paghjelle bien chanter
