  • Guess it's my time to shine!

  • He's just taking a whip it...

  • careful with this stuff, since it is more dense than air, it can get trapped in your lungs. you are supposed to hang upside down after and take 3 or 4 deep breaths to exhale all the gas.

  • by heavy i mean dense lol

  • Tungsten hexafluoride is twice as heavy.. but if you suck as much of that stuff in as he did here your prolly dead in about 30-90 seconds.

  • if you had enough of it, could you swim in it? :o

  • @RiotGamingz This stuff is about 5-6 times denser than air, but still less dense than water, which is 800 times denser than air. So the answer is no.

  • i would like to try this

  • He's Gou'ald!

  • @monkeyman1140 oh no! :O

  • i'm gana get some of this. get in a really cheap devil's costume and go to a church and say "I AM THE SON OF LUCIFER, NOW WHO WANT'S TO DANCE!!"

  • would this stuff be denser than water

  • No.

  • Dammit even that last comment was a reply - get your act together Youtube!!! :(

  • My comments were actually a reply to a previous post but, as is typical with Youtube these days, it didn't appear like that. It's so long ago now that I can't remember who I was replying to! However I do know global warming has nothing to do with ozone depletion - I wasn't suggesting that it did! Not sure of the relevancy of your second point and, as for your third - sorry, you don't get away with it that easily!! :)

  • you can hear the titanic song! 1:18

  • lolz the titanic song lolz. fun-E comment Celion Dion: My Heart Will Go On. :P d: and yea this gas is awesome... dont do it so much tho, it could be harmful to your body ^.^

  • umm so i totally want some of this shit...

  • its about as hazardous as helium from what i can tell since people are breathing it in. maybe they should illegalize helium XD oh and next comes some other relatively harmless gas.

  • yeah xenon in the only one that kinda effects u like a stroke .....but still makes ur voice deep like that but even sulfur hexaflouride will get u a lil light headed and it doesnt come out of ur loungs as fast as helium it can acualy sufficate u

  • What you say is true, why would people give you negative feedback...?

  • its like invisible water

  • it's scientific HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  • actually, what they do is illegal. companys around are spending lots of thousands on equipment preventing SF6 gass to get in the air and then atmosphere. So for u to get it would be quite diffcult.

  • if this gas is that heavy, it wont go hight in the atmosphere :p

  • actually, it will. over years it mixed with air and then go up i the atmosphere.

  • SF6 is actually a greenhouse gas, more potent than CO2! Hoever because of the high density of SF6 it does not present such a high risk, as most of it sinks to lower levels. It is not an ozone destroying gas like CFC's are.

  • Were could i aquire some sulphur hexaflouride. i want do this for a college science class??

  • LOL u mispelled intelligent in yer name xD kinda ironic, doncha think?

  • it is sarcastic, like this conversation

    "you suck"

    "your an idiot"

  • yeah i know, i like it, its funny xD

  • Isn't it you're?

  • @inteligentboy you used the wrong your. you were supposed to use you're.

  • i saw this on mythbusters, but adam did the deep voice thing. i might get some from work

  • ahhhh the joys of density:)

  • Hydrogen is the lightest element in existance; you would need something heavier than air to do that trick.

    No, not a trick; science!

  • haha lol why is "my heart will go on" playing in the backround?

  • cuz the foil boat was sinking, like the titanic did, and that song was a major part of the titanic film from the nineties

  • this shit is expensive, we got some at my school and it was $300...pretty cool though

  • and again , where can this be purchased?

  • i think you will find it is 5.11 times heavier than air

  • Where can i get this gas?

  • That would be cool if their was a pool of this gas... I wonder if you would be able to swim in it.

  • Probably not....it would just mix with the air and float away after a while...note how they have the carboard on top of the tank as they fill it

  • They did that so it wouldn't "ricochet" off of the bottom--note how it's heavier than air and they were able to scoop it into a cup and dump it on the "boat"

  • When u jump in, u never know the pool is full or empty.

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • You wouldn't be able to swim in it. The body density is pretty close to water (1.0 kg/l) so you wouldn't even be able to swim in ethanol (0.8 kg/l). SF4 is at only 0.006 kg/l so there is no chance you could swim in it.

It could be possible to make a boat for you. It'd have to be a pretty big one for you though. Assuming median human weight of about 75 kg you'd have to displace at least 12 500 liters, or 3 500 US gallons, plus a proportionate amount for the weight of the boat itself.

  • Correction: SF6, not SF4 (of course). :D

  • What I want to know is how SuFl6 feels flowing past your skin.. does it feel like water and will it drip off your hand?

  • rofl learn your chemistry

  • S >>> sulphur

    F >>> fluorine

    Learn to chemistry XD

  • learn to chemistry is an awesome line lol

  • Inhaling it makes you dense too

  • lol i didnt know that huffing nitrous was allowed on youtube..

  • haHaha nangs ftw

  • didn't believe it at first - did my homework and wow,...there's much to know in life

  • HEY!!!! That's Steve Spangler, isn't it?!?

  • Looks like Don LaFontaine is done for. haha.

    very cool.

  • Hope you enjoy it!!
