Tsem Rinpoche expresses himself in a way which suits modern minds. He tells a "story" which keeps me attentive, and then his Dharma teaching plants into my head. His teachings are personal and warm allowing minds to receive and hearts to embrace! Remarkable teacher. And he believes in HH!
I respect Tsem Tulku for he never say anything -ve about any Lama. He is objective yet compassionate. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, his name is synonym with Kindness and Compassion. May His people practice Kindness and Compassion to everyone. To each other. May the true Freedom of the Tibetans come from within from letting go. Home is where you lay your hat. Be happy :)

Why H.H is a real Chenrezig when he answer the last question from the floor.
Rinpoche really has the ability to explain dharma in simple penetrative english .. I have all his books.. I pray that there'll be many many more books in the near future.
After watch video on "His Holiness the Dalai Lama at The Aspen Institute", the last question from the public. Your Holiness explains so many story about Chairman Mao and you in the past, when I first hear it, i feel so touch. Your kind motivation to bring benefit to China people, even they bring so many obstacles to you, you continue to help them, benefit them. If you are not Chenrezig, who is? Your Holiness. Please live long for every sentient beings. I am very touch in this video.
hi, yeah i did check out the book the other day when i was in London for the book fair... great stuff! the more i read the more i found myself interested with the topics which other Rinpoches seldom talks about.... Tsem Rinpoche is really some Lama.
Check out the revised Gurus For Hire, Enlightenment For Sale and read for yourself intimate details of Rinpoche's experience in Dharma centers and how he relates with his Lamas like the Dalai Lama. Simply amazing to learn from Rinpche's own experience.
Within the lamrim after we have developed some form of equanimity , we should start viewing all sentient beings as our mothers to deepen our love and care for others.
The meditation we should do is to view three groups of people in front of us. People we like , dont like and neutral. For people we like , we should think that these people could have been people we are aversed to in past lives and similarly for people we dont like. And gradually all people we are neutral towards them .
I believe the first step for us to develop compassion we have to have a mind of equanimity , we are not too attached to people we love nor averse to people we do not like.
One of my favorite words of His Holiness a re "I always believe that it is much better to have a variety of religions, a variety of philosophies, rather than one single religion or philosophy. This is necessary because of the different mental dispositions of each human being. Each religion has certain unique ideas or techniques, and learning about them can only enrich one's own faith."
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and his predecessor voiced their support for the Rime Movement. This movement is non partisan but seeks to appreciate the differences between the different schools and an acknowledgement of the importance of having this variety for the benefit of practitioners with different needs.
Its been years and years that His Holiness carries on meeting people all the time listening and sharing the dharma . And I am sure he does a lot of prayers and meditations at the same and after so many years I have full respect for His Holiness.
I have been attending the lam rim class in Kechara House and in the Lam Rim Lama Atisha sailed for 13 months to get to Sumatra and stayed for 12 years learning all he could from as Dharmarakshita had a lot to impart.
The text Wheel of Sharp weapons I believe the author is Dharmarakshita , it talks about cause and effect , for each effect there is a corresponding cause, it is clearly defined in this text.
The eight verses of training the mind is part of the teachings called Lojong . And through the kindness of Lama Atisha who travelled Sumatra to get the teachings from the great teacher Dharmarakshita for us to have these teachings now .
The eight verses of training the mind is part of the teachings called Lojong . And through the kindness of Lama Atisha who travelled Sumatra to get the teachings from the great teacher Dharmarakshita for us to have these teachings now .
In the case of Vajrayogini she wears a necklace of dried skulls, which actually means that she is able to remove all your delusions completely until nothing is left like dried skulls.
I think skulls also represent death , which to some people may be morbid. But the reality is that we are getting closer and closer to death everyday, so why should we not be reminded of death ? without the thought of death we become complacent .
The five skulls on Mahakalas crown symbolizes the five main afflictions of anger, greed, pride, envy and ignorance, transmuted into the five wisdoms- ultimate reality, and discriminating, equalizing, all-accomplishing and mirror wisdoms.
It shows much humility on the part of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche that he praises the various master and high lamas without an iota of wanting praise for himself.
Nalanda2010 , probably use the inferential logic that the qualities of Avalokitesvara which is compassion can be seen in great spiritual practitioners of our time like His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Karmapa . If they can have such a state of mind surely it is achievable.
Youngciku82, When we have a realization that anger destroys and harms and we act out of patience, then because we acted out of realization then that degree of patience we have is an attainment.
Rainbows are auspicious signs in most religion I guess His Eminence is trying to describe how auspicious it was to be able to attend a teaching from His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
When I meet people who have spiritual attainments, they are totally in tune with the moment and situation . Totally at ease ,totally confident on what they have to do to benefit many beings.
Someone who has so much attainments and highly realized like His Holiness , is totally perfect in any situation . I wish I can ascend to such heights in my spiritual practice.
I think His Eminence mentioned before in lands where Buddhist consciousness is not there , the spread of the dharma is so so hard and filled with obstacles , like Malaysia for example.
Newvision, thats why His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche says that it was solely due to His Holiness unwavering determination and hard work , that the dharma was able to grow in the West.
For Westerners to even kneel to someone , is a big problem I mean why should I submit myself to someone else. Let alone asking them to do prostrations the first generation of lamas and teachers who first came to the West must have had one hell of the time convincing them of Buddhist practices.
His Holiness working tirelessly having dialogues with so so many people it is something we can be inspired by. I believe all his inter faith dialogues have benefitted the world at large and helped to build bridges where there were none before.
I truly believe the loss of the Tibetan homeland has benefited the spread of Buddhism to all over the world. And the Dharma protectors their jobs is to protect the Dharma , and Dharma now after so many years is starting to take root in may other countries all over the world.
This was an excerpt from the speech HHDL gave during his acceptance speech of the Noble Peace Prize .
"I pray for all of us, oppressor and friend, that together we succeed in building a better world through human understanding and love, and that in doing so we may reduce the pain and suffering of all sentient beings."
All lamas committed to spread the Dharma work tremendously hard and I believe for His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche to have created so many departments he probably worked himself to the ground .
There is a practice called NYUNGNE which involves chanting 1000 armed Chenrezig , fasting , silence and prostrations and it supposedly can help purify tremendous karma that will throw us into a lower rebirth.
His Holiness is definitely far from ordinary , that he is able to connect with people from all walks of life , and still retain the humility of humble monk . I doubt anyone meeting His Holiness will leave without feeling moved by his presence alone.
I chant om mani padme hum all the time and it helps me when I am depressed tremendously. I read that Lama Tsongkhapa lifts up from depression due to one of his main aspects is Avalokitechvara.
I have a statue of the 4 armed Chenrezig , I feel so peaceful just gazing at it . I have seen many pictures of the 4 armed Chenrezig all of them are so so beautiful and gives me such a sense of peace. May many beings have the merit to have such beautiful , holy object in their vincinity.
People who has an altruistic mind , whatever they touch they will bless the people or things that they touch , which might explain why His Holiness blessed everyone with his hands.
Yeah I known many people who were moved by meeting holy masters such as His Holiness , even during talks peoples tears would be streaming down . Might be a past association or opened up a spiritual seed perhaps.
There are desire realms ,form and formless realms . The realm we are in is the desire realm, within the desire realms it sub divided to 6 realms. God, Demi-god , Human ( higher realms) , Hell , Hungry Ghost , Animal ( lower realms )
His Holiness has such a great universal appeal and his teachings cuts through all social boundaries . I believe whatever Tsem Rinpoche says about His Holiness about being the main cause in bringing Tibetan Buddhism to the level of veneration on a global level is absolutely true.
Nagas If I am not wrong is like snake spirits , and these class of beings belong to the animal realms. One can disturb them accidentally in the nature , as they like to live near places with water.
Beings that have altruistic mind are very different from normal people like me and you. The altruism in their minds is what sets them apart and make people take notice of them as the altruistic mind is very special.
At the vajrasecrets(dot)com , the description of Hayagriva chakra is Hayagriva has the special ability to cure diseases in general, and skin diseases in particular, even one as serious as leprosy. He is effective protection against Nagas (water spirits with serpent bodies) and counters the after-effects of black magic and spells. He is especially beneficial for those suffering from terminal illnesses.
this is just Great! i have now set a specific time now to watch Rinpoche's videos on youtube. you know what? i can watch it over and over again and try to understand more indepth of Rinpoche's teachings
Most Tibetans think His Holiness is the same nature as Chenrezig without a doubt. Reading His holinesses books and listening to his talks I have no doubt in my mind he is indeed having the compassion of all the Buddhas.
A hinayana monk externally holding vows purely, practicing perfectly mahayana inside and secretly tantric mahasidda with siddhis ,is a comparison of His Holiness to the incomparable Lama Tsongkhapa.
Avalokiteshvara is the Buddha of Compassion . He is also called Chenrezig . And Chenrezig has the two armed ,four armed and the thousand armed form . These are the forms I am familiar with.
The eight verses of transforming the mind , was known also as Lepers Dharma , when Geshe Chaekawa taught it to the lepers colony they managed to heal themselves, how powerful this practice can be.
His Eminence even when he was at eleven already show signs of being considerate , when HHDL started reading his writings , and asked HHDL to stop reading as many people were waiting to meet HHDL. When I was eleven I was totally into me lol.
HHDL efforts in giving talks and also engaging with Westerners has made Tibetan Buddhism more accessible to westerners . It is due to HHDL great efforts that Tibetan Buddhism is so well respected in the West.
His Holiness has so many admirers in the West , whether it is the man on the street or the top scientists His Holiness shows the same kindness and attention to all .
Bigwheelof life, additional description of the Kadampas is Kadampas, then, are practitioners who regard Buddha's teachings as personal instructions and put them into practice by following the instructions of Lamrim who was written by Lama Atisha.
newvision90: definitely you have benefitted me in this, i see you in the same nature as Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. Rinpoche has benefitted a lot of beings by getting a lot of videos into youtube
Chickensoupbowl , are you kidding , Tsem Rinpoche has a pure mind and motivations Im just a samsaric being who has hung out in samsara since beginingless time.
Bodhisattva Langri Tangpa was a Kadampa master who wrote the Eight verses of transforming the mind , within these eight verses contain all 84,000 teachings of the Buddha.
H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's book Compassion Conquers All has teachings on the eight verses of thought transformation that Rinpoche received from H H the Dalai Lama. This book is available on kechara(dot)com and amazon.
Oh I too will definitely getting this book, "Compassion Conquers All". I do believe in this.. but what is the 'Eight Verses of Thought Transformation" teaching? It sounds great and I'm sure it is since Rinpoche received it from HH himself..
Its just amazing how H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche talks and promotes His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I have not heard or seen other Lamas do this. He truly believes in His Holiness and this leaves me in awe of Rinpoche for his own qualities.
The Third Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Sonam Gyatso converted the bloodthirsty Mongols into peaceful Buddhists. This has tremendous effects upon ancient world history. The Mongols were at that time in control of large parts of eastern Europe, Middle East and China. Their power waned and allowed peace to prevail.
Om Mani Padme Hum... the mantra of Avalokitesvara or Kuan Yin? Oh so Rinpoche always recite this mantra... Mmm.. anyone can explain the meaning of this famous mantra?
Each syllable of Om Mani Padme Hum corresponds to the six paramitas and creates the cause to develop each paramita- generosity, discipline, patience, joyous perseverance, concentration & wisdom. The mantra also directly invokes upon the power of all the Buddha's compassion to directly counter anger and depression. Some scholars translates the mantra as 'Hail! Jewel in the Lotus.' Jewel here I believe refers to Bodhichitta.
Thanks Dungkar80 for your explanation on the meaning of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. Very enlightening... mm so the mantra itself is so powerful... to counter anger and depression with compassion. Great. Om Mani Padme Hum to you...
Hey, I also learn from a book about this mantra, it explained that the word 'Mani' refer to 'Jewel' to mean it is as precious as a wish-granting gem and also representing the 'Bodhicitta' which is the 'Method' to achieve enlightenment. 'Padme' refer to 'Lotus' for purity from delusions and thus the 'Wisdom' to achieve enlightenment. So, this mantra is a complete practice in itself, combining Bodhicitta and Wisdom.
The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is the amazing mantra that comes naturally to Rinpoche in dire situations. How entrenched Dharma is in Tibetan society and civilization. The culmination of this unique civilization is the Dalai Lama and H. E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.
My respect to Rinpoche hardworks and knowledge will never cease, as Rinpoche really work tirelessly to take care all of us here, he make sure all of us are safe, well taken care off and take on all our sufferings and liberating us, which really touches our hearts.........Just HH, everyone respect HH for his incredible dedication to peace......
HH Dalai Lama is the 14th incarnation. HH Dalai Lama never tired to incarnates back again to teach the dharma and to cease the sufferings for every beings in this world, he's so kind and compassionate.....Every master has never tired to come back turn the wheel of dharma, just like Rinpoche, who is also incarnates lama to teach the dharma....May you live long to dispel the misery of the world.....
Rinpoche talk about HH Dalai Lama is very advanced in meditation, very monkly, totally a perfect Hinayana monk on the outside and perfect Mahayana practitioner on the inside and secretly an attained Mahasiddha......With all the good qualities of buddha......HH totally the master of unbroken lineage - Gelug tradition.......May Rinpoche continue to spread the Gelug tradition to everywhere in the world...
Although i'm not malaysian, but i do hope i can get a Guru like Rinpoche, who embodied all the good qualities to teach the dharma just like HH Dalai Lama, sitting at the unconquerable throne of vajra....Buddha teachings will never fall to an end, and is expending every where in the world, as Buddhist is not a religion, is a teachings about the way of life.......
I believe this where we respect Rinpoche. We respect Rinpoche teaching, dharma knowledge, sense of humour and as well as kindnesses that will never give up to turn the dharma wheel....
HH Dalai Lama is very special that he can transcend the cultures, religion and people, can talk and speak to any level of people (Lawyer, doctor, politics leader, scientist, pope and etc) in a natural way, and Rinpoche, so do you. You can teach any level people in KH, even the difficult people you have meet, you will never forget and never give up to teach and plant the seed of dharma to that person....your kindness is just like HH Dalai Lama......
Rinpoche has work very hard & tirelessly to teach and explain the Dharma just like HH Dalai Lama, both of you will never get tired in spreading the dharma to all of us here, and we treasure every single moment, precious teaching from you Rinpoche, Thank you so much for being with us here to guide and teach us........
Everytime when i see the video of HH Dalai Lama teachings, my tears will drop automatically, i dont know why, i just feel like a buddha has appeared in front of me and teach me. As Rinpoche mentioned, we are overwhelmed by the hard work, the compassionate heart and the gentle voice of HH. May i pray that i will never be separated from the presence of HH and Rinpoche ......
Wow, Rinpoche has received the 8 verses of thought transformation and oral transmission of "OM MANI PEME HUM" directly from HH, its wonderful...........If i'm there with Rinpoche, i do really feel like i'm receiving the oral transmission from Cherenzig.....a mantra that pacified all the sufferings and give happiness to every beings......
Wow, Rinpoche mentioned that, when HH Dalai Lama came to the center to give teachings, there is a light rain and the rainbow appeared, such a auspicious sign.......HH really a true buddha itself........I have witnessed it before in Rinpoche teachings, almost everytime when Rinpoche finished giving dharma teachings, outside is raining, this is really a auspicious sign show that, Buddha is very happy about Rinpoche spreading the Dharma......
purpleflux108: Unfortunate for us, our government because of China wouldn't want to risk allowing the Dalai Lama into Malaysia. But to me its alright, we have his great student, H. E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche here with us.
Rinpoche was so humble here, just like HH Dalai Lama, everytime when i watch HH Dalai Lama video, HH always with folded his hands and bend his head down.....and i remember HH has said i'm just a simple monk, this verses really touches my heart.....
cainrafael: yea its a good thing because both Rinpoche and HHDL has stated that reading hagiographies of highly attained beings helps in getting rid of depression..
Wow Dharmakid, you really knows so much! I rejoice for you and I am so touched through this video that Rinpoche really respects all His Gurus and not just HH Dalai Lama. This is just a classic example of Guru Devotion.
premalanaidu76 : yea he's a longtime friend of mine and he is currently going thru a difficult time. Rinpoche really helped him to get on his feet...Rinpoche is so kind because he cant really help much but he still helps him all the way..
The sign of a rainbow emerging in the sky is just so auspicious when an Enlightened Being arrives to give teachings. I have witnessed this similar scenario happened before with my own eyes! Fascinating!
sotonguy123: I have also seen this happening many times. It is a definite sign that miracles still exist but to me its so normal that I am so not surprised anymore
cainrafael: I feel that it is amazing but at the same time it is normal in more ways than one because it happens so often whenever a good Dharma master is in town.
Yah, agree to you Jeanai......Thats why Rinpoche always says dont center hop / guru hop around.....Stay firm with 1 center and stay firm in our practise....have faith and trust to the Guru who teaches us.......This is where Guru Devotion is all about.....
If everyone has the same level or even just a drop of Guru Devotion like what Tsem Rinpoche has for H.H The Dalai Lama, wouldn't it be wonderful? Tsem Rinpoche often talks about his gurus very sincerely and with much devotion. And with Tsem Rinpoche, it's not just words but action too. Everyone should read Guru for Hire by Tsem Rinpoche.
Agree with you ilovevajrayogini, if everyone has even 1% of Faith and Guru Devotion in His Holiness and the 3 Jewels, the world would be a better place to live in.
I have Guru for Hire Enlightenment for sale's DVD, I'm a bit lazy to read, the teachings is really awesome. I heard from one of my Friend that the book is making it to London for a Re-Launch ?? This is really something beneficial to all dharma centers and practitioners.
ilovevajrayogini: if that happens I am sure we will have many more future Rinpoches and Buddhas. Because at the end real Guru Devotion is listening to the Guru Within...Rinpoche has mentioned this before as well...
dharmakid108: that is just so true and deep...sometimes the Guru will make you question yourself..but that is because you're not who you think you are and he needs to break that.
To me HH Dalai Lama is the Buddha of Compassion who has nothing but Compassion so that an ordinary being like me can have the opportunity to see him. Om Mani Padme Hum!!!!
amkotechar : I feel more like he's an example that we should all follow. He has endured some of the hardest things that the Tibetans have thrown into his face.
cainrafael : sadly they pretend to respect him in front yet do many things to challenge and undermine him behind. I wonder when will all of these will stop...and that they really focus on practice rather than politics
cainrafael: yea..logically it would be impossible for any ordinary person to achieve such heights unless they care for others with no agenda at all...
I believe "Trust" word, cause i trust my Guru, and i know my Guru will never forget me and whenever is it, he's always there for me to guide me and help me along. Just like HH Dalai Lama, HH has work so hard to benefits others, this is where we can see from our eyes....I bow down to you with folded hands and prayers to HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche & HH Dalai Lama.....
tenzintrinlay118: I went beyond trust...I just follow because the Lama will always be right at the end. What he says ALWAYS goes line in line with my intuition...
cainrafael : Wow...that is something new! The Guru will always do the right thing and it is very obvious because what he says and what you will say deep inside of you will always match...it's like he gives a voice to your inner Guru!
tenzintrinlay118 : i feel that when you announce your trust, it helps to show people how you would act with your Guru and help set an example...thanks for sharing =)
Wow, when Rinpoche spoke about the mind transformation teaching that His Holiness taught and also other high lamas, Rinpoche actually folded his hands.
It shows me how much respect Tsem Rinpoche have for all the holy teachers especially His Holiness the Dalai Lama
yes it is very clear that Tsem Rinpoche shows absolute respect to his Ordination Master and to the leader of the Tibetans, His Holiness the Dalai Lama who also bears the heavy responsibility of guarding the Dharma so that it will not degenerate. It is an extremely tough job for him which is why most Tibetans realize and respect him for it..
Very true, it is not so easy to gain respect from a huge community, I would say His Holiness did a very good job benifiting sentient beings in order to gain such respect.
I guess this is the reason why Tsem Rinpoche works around the clock to benifit us just like His Holiness cause Rinpoche only want to benifit us and nothing else. How kind ..
Not just Tibetan community but also everyone else. His Holiness got Nobel Prize, but it was not from Tibetans! Hehehe
What you say about Rinpoche working around the clock, I feel also the same. Rinpoche is really following his gurus examples. I read on tsemtulkuDOTcom that he went to Malaysia because his gurus ask him to go...and even though he wanted to stay in Gaden coz it took him so much sacrifices to get to Gaden, he still went to Malaysia. So devoted!
Also not just sacrifices. I read he wanted to stay in Gaden so he can be near them and serve them and learn from them. For someone like Rinpoche who love his gurus so much, must have been very hard to leave them. Means his motivation must be good and guru devotion must be very strong, coz he 'ignore' what he want so he can follow his teachers instructions. I think so many of us, if our guru tell us to do something like move country or whatever, we already want to run away from him!
Yes you're right cainrafael, the Guru is not a monster but people's perceptions make him out to be! Whatever a Guru says is always to our benefit but whether we want to accept it as so is dependent on our level of practice and Guru Devotion. If people think their Guru is making life difficult for them, then in their eyes their Guru is a monster! For some people, asking them to give up dinner to attend a dharma talk can send them into fits. For others, they don't think twice, they just say ok! :)
cainrafael : yea I agree. This has to be one of the most comforting reminders when the Guru starts to push us a bit harder than usual and we start to feel the pain...
dharmakid108: yea that could be a very painful time especially if you are not well equipped enough to deal with your issues but I am sure you know what to do ;)
tnznshrb: yea and it would be very hard for him to adapt to the malaysian culture and mode of thinking but he did it out of Guru Devotion. I aspire to have that much Guru Devotion one day
Your story brought tears to my eyes. I live in Los angeles area, where can I go for spiritual guidance?

I think skulls also represent death , which to some people may be morbid. But the reality is that we are getting closer and closer to death everyday, so why should we not be reminded of death ? without the thought of death we become complacent .

Bigwheeloflife 2 years ago
Is the six armed Mahakala a yidam or protector?
Nalanda2010 2 years ago
Avalokitesvara , emanates as Mahakala and within the Gelugpa tradition the six armed Mahakala is especially a popular practice.
Bigwheeloflife 2 years ago
The six arms represent the completion of the six perfections which are accomplished by Bodhisattvas.

Nalanda2010 2 years ago
Nalanda2010 , probably use the inferential logic that the qualities of Avalokitesvara which is compassion can be seen in great spiritual practitioners of our time like His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Karmapa . If they can have such a state of mind surely it is achievable.

Om Mani Padme Hum... the mantra of Avalokitesvara or Kuan Yin? Oh so Rinpoche always recite this mantra... Mmm.. anyone can explain the meaning of this famous mantra?
HeadofBalloon 2 years ago
Each syllable of Om Mani Padme Hum corresponds to the six paramitas and creates the cause to develop each paramita- generosity, discipline, patience, joyous perseverance, concentration & wisdom. The mantra also directly invokes upon the power of all the Buddha's compassion to directly counter anger and depression. Some scholars translates the mantra as 'Hail! Jewel in the Lotus.' Jewel here I believe refers to Bodhichitta.
Dungkar80 2 years ago
Thanks Dungkar80 for your explanation on the meaning of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. Very enlightening... mm so the mantra itself is so powerful... to counter anger and depression with compassion. Great. Om Mani Padme Hum to you...
HeadofBalloon 2 years ago
Hey, I also learn from a book about this mantra, it explained that the word 'Mani' refer to 'Jewel' to mean it is as precious as a wish-granting gem and also representing the 'Bodhicitta' which is the 'Method' to achieve enlightenment. 'Padme' refer to 'Lotus' for purity from delusions and thus the 'Wisdom' to achieve enlightenment. So, this mantra is a complete practice in itself, combining Bodhicitta and Wisdom.

shoujian 2 years ago
yes it is very clear that Tsem Rinpoche shows absolute respect to his Ordination Master and to the leader of the Tibetans, His Holiness the Dalai Lama who also bears the heavy responsibility of guarding the Dharma so that it will not degenerate. It is an extremely tough job for him which is why most Tibetans realize and respect him for it..
purpleflux108 2 years ago
Very true, it is not so easy to gain respect from a huge community, I would say His Holiness did a very good job benifiting sentient beings in order to gain such respect.
I guess this is the reason why Tsem Rinpoche works around the clock to benifit us just like His Holiness cause Rinpoche only want to benifit us and nothing else. How kind ..
shoujian 2 years ago
Not just Tibetan community but also everyone else. His Holiness got Nobel Prize, but it was not from Tibetans! Hehehe
What you say about Rinpoche working around the clock, I feel also the same. Rinpoche is really following his gurus examples. I read on tsemtulkuDOTcom that he went to Malaysia because his gurus ask him to go...and even though he wanted to stay in Gaden coz it took him so much sacrifices to get to Gaden, he still went to Malaysia. So devoted!
tnznshrb 2 years ago
Also not just sacrifices. I read he wanted to stay in Gaden so he can be near them and serve them and learn from them. For someone like Rinpoche who love his gurus so much, must have been very hard to leave them. Means his motivation must be good and guru devotion must be very strong, coz he 'ignore' what he want so he can follow his teachers instructions. I think so many of us, if our guru tell us to do something like move country or whatever, we already want to run away from him!
tnznshrb 2 years ago
tnznshrb: the Guru is not a monster...he wont tell us to do something that we cannot take...so he wont chase us away...unless it is to our benefit :)
cainrafael 2 years ago
Yes you're right cainrafael, the Guru is not a monster but people's perceptions make him out to be! Whatever a Guru says is always to our benefit but whether we want to accept it as so is dependent on our level of practice and Guru Devotion. If people think their Guru is making life difficult for them, then in their eyes their Guru is a monster! For some people, asking them to give up dinner to attend a dharma talk can send them into fits. For others, they don't think twice, they just say ok! :)
