This Ave Maria is not by Giulio Caccini. Caccini was a Renaissance/early Barok composer and didn't write in this style. The piece is composed in 1970 by a Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov (1925-1973). He didn't mention his name (very unwise) but 'anonymous'. For some reason 'Anonymous' is replaced by 'Caccini'

I love this version. She is the best to me. I can feel her whenever I see her sing. She is so into it. She is singing from the very depth's of her soul. Her voice is truely a gift from God. She is so in tune with the song, she draws you into her, she definately connects with you that's for sure. I love her voice. I wish I had a little of it.

I think that she HAD a very beautiful soprano voice that had matured earlier than usual, which is why she could sing so refined. She also had a really good teacher, probably world-class. However, I wasn't glad about her switching to pop, wasting such a gorgeous voice like that.

However, it could be possible, if what you heard is true, that she has somehow lost her ability to sing high notes and such. I also don't approve of smoking; it's so bad for your health and causes you to die earlier!

@danmark121000 As a vocalist this is an easier version of Ave Maria. IT's all vocals, breathing and pitch because you don't have to worry about phrasing as much when you're singing the same words over again. She would have sounded different if she had did Beyonce version. But this is only sing the chorus "Ave Maria" over and over again. You don't even have to learn the words. I would prefer to sing this version also.

The more I learn about voice the more I view Charlotte Church as simply a 'pretty voice.' It shows here where her phrasing destroys the beautiful descending lines in this piece. She might have a nice tone and natural voice, but she lacks polish, and it shows when she is compared to people like Cecilia Bartoli and Bidu Sayo.

@lilygolightly Remember she is only 14 here. Few of us could sing like that at 14. The technique may be different for such young vocal chords. There may be some techniques that immature operetic singers of this age just can't phsically perform. I don't know for sure and I'm not qualified to critique because I have know formal music training, just an opera singer in training. All I know is that she is very young here and I think people are overly critical of such a young operetic voice.
