Adding your own videos to the CQ in Eve Online.

That really seems to be an issue with what's going on as you render it. Try just leaving your PC alone when it renders to see if that helps! It's been a while since I've mucked with it and Ive had to reformat/reinstall since then but I want to get that all set up again at some point.

Wow... I've been away due to real life stuff and other not so nice stuff. Needless to say I am happy that CCP actually made this more accessible to all! Ill have to get all the software back in order.

But if memory serves you can set a ratio in bink tools no?

But damnit EnergyNom after watching that cute pony video over and over again I went and watched moar pony clips. Inevitably, I ended up watching all the MLP episodes and now I have to consider myself a "brony" because I thought it was really cute. I even fit exactly into the demographic, damn you. At first it was only the 4chan pony threads, but it evolved into a full on interest in the show and I just had to watch it. What did the internet do to me?

heh, just download rad video tools from the source, it comes with a bink compressor then simply replace the eve .bik files with your new one from the compressor, I'm guessing the filename should match the original for it to work

Technically, as of now, it is "illegal" because it breaks EULA rules of modifying game content. However it is a completely harmless change that they would never notice you doing unless you started talking about it everywhere. Though, it being CCP, I can see them sometime in the future making it impossible to do this by changing the file type to something that isn't so easy to make/replace.

i tried to put a vid in(removed others, copied my video, changed its name to match one of the other files) but its not working D: do i still need the whole list of videos for it to play properly?

@Gzus70 As far as I can tell, there is not a limit to the length of the movie, but I do believe that you need to leave all the other files in there and just replace a file with your video (LOGO_CONCORD is played the most so I recommend replacing that one). Also, as GAPGimpMaster said, it has to be a .bik file which you can create by following his instructions.

@RABIDD0GMA indeed, i let an episode of BSG sit for 8 hours to convert to bik, then was sad when i failed to get it to work... lol

PART 2

Now you got the Bik file ready. Move them to C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Eve Online\Res\CQ\Video\ or something like that...

Move all the old Bik files into a back up directory on your desktop.

Copy the exported video bik file and change the file name to match the old one.

I did the same thing and I have it figured out. I don't give a damn about the rule right now so..... Here how to do it everyone!!!!!!

PART 1

Get Bink Video Tools.

Export the video you want to watch into WMV or AVI (Try WMV first since it worked out better for me.)

use Bink Video Tools and select the video you want to convert

Click on the button Bink It!

Leave the setting as it is and click Convert

Be patient and play Legend of Zelda Water Temple. (Not kidding.)

BTW use RAD Video Tools to convert your avi videos to bink format end change them with the videos in folder (eve online\res\video\cq). it's so simple and i think nothing illegal about that.

I tried this and the videos randomly speed up/play normally depending on what you are doing in CQ. Are you in fixed window mode or full screen?

I will post full instructions on how to do it as soon as I get the official ok from CCP. I emailed them on Saturday and am currently awaiting a response. Furthermore EngineRebuilder, this is not faked as can be seen by other videos that were posted as well as the various Eve Online related forums.
