  • Really cool. I like the perspective of a former radical theist. I really found his comments on speaking in tongues interesting.

I'm near houston and I have worked with and talked with many Pentecostals. I have seen video of the "speaking in tongues" and I always thought it was just psychotic human behavior. He really explained it perfectly in a way only one who has experienced it can.

  • Adam let me be the first to wish you a Merry Santamas during this wonderful time of giving.

I know most parents this year will enjoy the gift of giving in Santa's name and bring joy to children all of the USA.

I hope you have a special xmas video coming up to help celebrate the holidays.

  • man invented gods. the gods needed a nemesis, so man took a rib from the gods and created the devils. man wanted a place for gods to hide, so man created heaven. heaven needed a nemesis, so man took an apple from heaven and created hell. it's all fable.

it is your job as christians to turn the other cheek...turn and go away!

nobody will burn in hell...now go in peace.

  • Atheist books are becoming hugely popular.

  • Interesting. :) Is there a part 2?

  • he spoke for about an hour and a half. i could post a lot more...maybe i will later.

  • Please post more, also his story about the missionary who became an atheist is on youtube and is by the guy himself and its a great story.

  • please post x2

  • I know you have heard this before. If you don't like having your beliefs ridiculed, don't hold such silly beliefs.

  • can easily be said for you

  • Sure it could.

We all know that a theory based on observable facts and evidence to explain origins is just as hilarious as the theory that the magic wizard created us from dust.

  • Just like god?

    Who or what made him?

I agree, we don't need to start this line of argument for the thousandth time.

I think you find the speaker snide and unfunny due only to your religious perspective.

  • ha ha, fancy seeing you here brother!

doode, i know! we keep repeating ourselves!

  • I sent this video to both you and LordWhorfinX. Though I consider you to be a more respectable theist, I consider LordWhorf to be a subhuman piece of garbage. I was interested to learn how two different theists would react to the same video. Though your PM to me regarding this video was more thoughtful, Whorfin's comments here clearly show that he only saw the worst parts of himself in the speaker of this video, which the speaker doesn't even exhibit, but he sees them nonetheless (projecting).

  • well, i guess it depends on your perspective. i think the thing i really do agree with LordWhorinX on is the idea that it's such a waste of time to fight against Christianity(if there is no God).

why not just go camping or something.

now in your case, i can see that it fuels your creativity and humor, which is fine(if there is no God).

  • because if there is he's facing EtErNaL DaMnAtIoN *thunder sound*

    *Evil laugh*

  • We don't believe there is a god, but we know that there are believers that do still exist, so we don't waste time, rather we plant seeds, hoping that some will grow in the minds of doubters that may let go of their dogma for the betterment of the world, just as I, Holybabble (I think he said he's a former theist), and many others have.

  • so you are saying religious people DON'T make fun of atheists?

And they DON'T think they are immoral or deserve to burn in hell forever?

    LOL

hypocrisy rules I tell you that.

  • @kriptonis "Judge not lest ye be judged" Who said that again? lol

  • Seems like a good book to understand the christian condition...? cuz I can't still quite understand how trippy a christian mindset is...

PaulHarrison here on youtube has helped me a bit to get in touch with the core thinking, and also you holybabble.

    Nice post.

  • so, true. Those feelings are easily reproducible.

  • yeah, and you can make them happen again too.

  • thanks for this

  • very welcome dude!

  • LOL! I love dan barker! i saw him live in davis. im seeing richard dawkins tonight, this made me more pumped :p

  • hope you enjoyed it!

  • wow, awesome!

  • I own that book. It's great!

I know what he means about glossalia. I can speak in tongues still to, without believing in God. It's a human capability.

  • Yep, I still can too. Nothing spiritual about it at all.

I second the sentiment; Godless is a great up-to-date version of 'Losing Faith in Faith".

  • very good book. i can go to that place, and completely connect with dan's past and present! it seems the book was written for me specifically.
