Sloppy gearbox, too short security belts, crap(!) "steering", almost no brakes, worst stereo ever,terrible suspension, non working electric windows, stinking plastics, 0 to 60mph in...30 seconds?, very badly made and a so unpowerful engine that it struggled hard to go uphill...
First day, everything "worked" (except the electric windows). Second day, battery died and smoke came out of the engine and cluch, and third day, it refused to start, so I brought it back to the rental. hace 1 s
Here in Guatemala this cars cost about $5,000. I have one, its comfortable and it gets you where you want to go. Besides it makes about 78 miles per gallon at about 50 miles per hour, so is rentable and it sure as hell bits riding on a 125cc motorcycle or taking the bus. Besides has the same dimensions of a Spark (Matiz) and I dont see anybody saying that the Spark (Matiz) is a coffin with wheels

chevy vs chery As a Chevy Spark and Chery QQ owner for 2 yrs here are my comments. Chevy spark no fog lights, no alloy wheels ugly, ugly interior no tachometer, GM too cheap to put in tachometer Chery QQ good alloy wheels 4 power windows/door locks, keyless entry security system Spark has none of those foglights, alloy wheels, running boards good interior with tachometer. So after all So Chery Rules!
the difference is my friend, apart from all the stuff chery put in the QQ (power windows etc, which will break after a few weeks anyway) the Chevrolet will last much longer, the chinese cannot make quality products that last, they make throw away trash bascially...

the difference is my friend, apart from all the stuff chery put in the QQ (power windows etc, which will break after a few weeks anyway) the Chevrolet will last much longer, the chinese cannot make quality products that last, they make throw away trash bascially...

its a copy of the 1997 daewoo matiz,GM DAEWOO MATIZ,CHEVROLET SPARK,the doors even fit on each other ! i tried it they fit as well as the aftermarket doors on the daewoo, the daewoo doors fit perfect on the CHERY QQ. it was a illegal copy until GM DAEWOO let them manufacture it under license with limited export into markets controlled by daewoo,GM DAEWOO and chevrolet,.basically they can't sell it in the same markets where the chevy spark is sold or the daewoo matiz is sold.its sold grey market?

The Chinese are great at what they do, copy!
But when you simply copy you don't engineer and you loose purpose and function in the end result.
Just like many Chinese made (copied) products, I fear these cars will suffer the same fate.
I for one would not risk my families safety in this product unless it can be proven to be as good if not better than offerings from other manufacturers.
Time will tell but I won't hold my breath...

Everyone starts from copy.You learn from other's experience and you get to know how to create. That is a natural process and no one can deny it. Considering the fact that chery has been a car maker for only 10 years, it would be a easy way for them to copy the outer look of others at first so ppl may accept them easily. The outer look anyway is least important thing of a safe car that can run. But ppl pay most attention to it. Copy actually is wiser than design you own. It save you resource.

To be the best you can be you need experience and experience comes from trial and error. That's how you learn to ride a bike. You get on, you fall off, you get on again nad keep trying till you get better.
The Chinese way would be to get on a bike and hope to look like you are riding it. That is, copy the style but not the intent.

It has a 0.8 L V4 engine. A 0.8 Liter! That means the cylinder are the size of medium-sized water bottles!
That car can't accelerate like shit with that engine. Handling is so bad that I have to slow WAY down on 90 degree turns just so the car doesn't feel like it will flip.
