(beside hypothesis) after all, it would be interesting to ponder upon badura-skoda's assertion that everyone must fall into one of the three categories when playing bach: baroque minded, romantic minded, modernist minded.

Yep, and romantic Bach is politically incorrect these days. Stuff has to sound thin, pale and starving to go through as "authentic".
