Amazing, this is not a show off as when you learn gatka, you have to learn it fully and properly so it wont be showing off, it would be showing full potential of the great Sikh weapon training. You don't necessarily need a weapon when you start on your first day as you learn pentra but after that, you should be able to move onto stick. In my Gatka, theres this guy who has moved from Pentra to stick training in about 2 hours....a very very quick learner. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

@jesuskopp No actually anybody from any religion or race can learn it..There are people coming to the camps who are hindus and even muslims...There is no need to convert or anything..We also believe in one God and meditate his name..

@kanthasingh54 British banned Shastar Vidiya not Gatka. Gatka is what the British ALLOWED to keep. :D. Shastar Vidiya is still alive today and some nihangs know it

how does this gatka help u in street fight, oh may b need to carry stick or daang wid u all the time. iam not anti gatka but this gatka in Uk is jus a show off. i have seen some real gatka in punjab.

its true modern day akhare dont ecen teach the martial art just bhangra with a shastar in your hand, lol. there are very few who actually do it for fighting, the the rest just to dress up lyk a warrior and dance around.

you are right that nowadays they present gatka

but you do not need a weapon to do gatka

If u know anything about gatka you should know that in gatka, you are taught how to use ANYTHING as a weapon, if you have no weapons, you use yourself as a weapon.

thats why 40 Sikhs were able to defeat tens of thousands of Moghuls with their very few rust eaton weapons (source: The Braverey of Sikhs by some American guy)
