I remember seeing Phil on one occasion in Campbelltown just out of Sydney, no more than 40 people were there at the club....I couldn't believe it....'Clapton' would have drawn thousands.......you shake your head and wonder at times..

I was priviledged to see Phil and Tommy in Maine, USA this summer (2011) Loved every minute. They are both incredible musicians and more than that, entertainers. What a wonderful show. We wish them both continued success.
It used to be the Balmoral years ago, out on Port Curtis Road near Hastings Deering. Fingers crossed he might be back in Rocky this year, just need people in Rocky to get off their arses and show him some support, after all he is a brilliant musician and a great man.
@Mousey5209 Ah yeah, out near emm...what's it...out near where they store all the CAT equipment (forklifts, bobcats etc), sorta south a bit I think, past depot hill...though I could have it all wrong. lool
Having a drink in a bar in Nambour and heard these similar guitar sounds coming from the Lounge, stuck my head in and found it was Phil belting out a string of favourites, there was no cover charge to watch the show, seems Phil is happy just to have an audience.
That levinson plays really nicely. Phil let me play it when I was learning with him for a while. It has a thicker tone than the 9 gauge strings let on.
Not to begrudge Tommy (who's fantastic), but why is Phil not the household success amongst guitar fans that he deserves to be, like his younger brother ? I'm perplexed...
Phil's a huge Shadows fan, and here he's playing his version of the Shadows' arrangement of this classic...Great stuff !
@gtrDan1963 It has nothing to do with talent. Phil could easily tour the world with sold out shows. He just doesn't want too. Tommy tours because he has the determination and drive to do it, and he enjoys it. Phil doesn't like all the traveling and plane flights, and makes a happy living here in Queensland, so he just doesnt.
Great stuff...I just discovered these two geniuses... This guy's great like his brother. They can make ya wanna hang up the guitar though.... Its like this guy was born with a guitar in his hand amazing
I tell you what- I just sort of feel like boxing up my guitar and shoving it up in the attic, after watching these guys play( the Emmanuels) I hope they come to Texas to play sometime. Boy Howdy!
I wish that they would come to Texas. The Emmanuel brothers would be well received here. The Australians and the Texans have a lot in common, attitude-wise.
You hit the nail on the head bro, they were very young pretty much self taught at Broadwater NSW australia tommy smarter in business phil everyday guy breeds snakes, both love Jack daniels and great talented Aussies I worked first with them in The Texas Tavern, Kings Cross, Australia in 1969 definately Australian icons
I've got a friend who has done a few shows with tommy, and he told me that phil prefers to tour around australia, so he doesn't get the same exposure as his big bro.

@JoshuaRowGuitarist Since posting my comment, I saw an interview with Phil where he said precisely what you sent me. Thank you for the insight.
Am pleased to tell you that Phil is indeed joining Tommy for the 50th ann. tour, and I've got my tickets for New York City in May !
Take care.

Try being in the same room with those guys. ITs even more unreal watching this stuff done in person. Absolutely insane.

Rumor has it that Tommy and Phil are touring next year. Hopefully i'll get to meet Tommy then.
Last time these two played together live and i saw them was the sydney olympics, and it was life changing, to say the least.
