  • i'm sorry but, 500 turtles is too many. he should have let most of them go. now look what happened.

  • @burdog309 Yeah it was too many, that's the point, 500 turtles, mostly all captive bred, were breeding for restoration of wild popluations that have been overcollected for the pet trade, shot by rednecks with rifles and pistols, and hit by boat motor props. Why would a guy have 500 turtles? Well, your answer is for conservation purposes. Feel free to check out my video's and you will understand more. Thanks.

  • those monsters turtles are awsome and they were endangerd and alot of them died the government sucks

  • Tony: I won my first lawsuit against these agents. The jury awarded $88,500 against the agents for their actions on 14 July 2005, FIVE YEARS AGO. Not presented before the jury was the information about the seizure on the 21st of July, not allowed was my arrest and incarceration, nor my 3 year wait for a prosecution, nor my acquittal, nor the death of 365 turtles. I think I understand that reason for that restriction, I suspect it has to do with additional suit to follow. Time for a new video.

  • @Delticola - Congratulations! Wow five years ago it happened. I hope you plan to file those additional law suites against those bums

  • Tony: My first lawsuit, not the first filed, but the first to go to trial will start on 12 July against the "Federal Agents." Well, one Federal Agent, and one State of Alabama Deputy USFWS agent. I'll keep you posted.

  • @Delticola - Thanks. That last PO Box I gave you is no longer. I am working on another.

  • OMG I love the way you say toytles..

  • Well people this is what our Government does! The people doing the dirty work actually think they are doing good! Its the Jerk offs in power that are behind it all! One word....A New World Order where we will become slaves for the Corporations and the Bankers!

  • I love this guy's accent!

  • Notice, someone in the Georgia DNR is putting negative strikes to the comments. The truth hurts huh? Thomas Floyd is the wildlife biologist initially put in charge of caring for these turtles. Hello Thomas, good job. 365 is my count on the death toll. Put a negative strike on this comment for me.

  • They returned 110 that were held in South Carolina in a muddy pond. The Atlanta zoo killed a bunch as well. From 26 Cagles Map Turtle the Atlanta zoo killed 13 and returned 13 alive. From 19 Texas Map Turtles the Atlanta zoo killed 14 and returned 5. So 18 from Atlanta zoo and 110 from South Carolina.....they DNR returned 128 of 524.

  • I am totally unsurprised by this video. The US government misguidedly doing something, in theory, for the greater good (in this case the greater good of turtles) to keep them safe (from the man who was keeping them safe) and KILLING them. This is a travesty. This man's life was (and presumably, still is) about turtles. And they came and took his life's meaning away. It's exactly the same thing as if they went into a musicians house and took their instrument and then destroyed it. Shameful.

  • this is a prime example of how the government is just silly,of course those turtles were better off with mr.santhuff any day compared to some government wildlife agency, turtles are not just like any other animal, they seem simple to care for but are very difficult in fact. I hope whatever agency did this foolish thing has learned something over this, but all that probably happened is alot of headache and sleepless nights for mr.santhuff., good luck mr.santhuff, God bless

  • The most maddening thing of all is that while those turtles may have been endangered or threatened, they were far far better off staying with Mr. Santhuff who had more right by knowledge and experience to care for those turtles than any government agency.

  • After watching this video, I definitely believe Mr. Santhuff's Constiutional rights were violated. I also believe unlawful search & seizure warrants were executed to villify him. HE IS NOT the enemy. His job was to protect innocent turtles who habitats were being destroyed by over development of land .

  • we all should learn something by all of thisl. I think your ritght. Unbelievable. turtles. there like birds. You can fight your friend, or anyone. But not the government.

  • This situation is absolutely horrible and shows an outrageous act of ignorance on the State of Georgia. Steve spent his life researching and sharing information about turtles as a biologist and protecting the wild habitat that turtles live in. This story doesn't even come close to sharing the depth of this incident. Mr. Santhuff's life will never be the same and I encourage you to research this story further. I feel sorry for my brother and I think the State of Georgia owes him an apology.

  • Thats incredible!.. Now if the turtles are dying in Goverment hands(due to neglect most likely), then why aren't animal cruelty charges being pressed? Also, what a waste of time and money!

  • lol, When did the government of America ever did something good for they're people?

Yeah thats a good one, They should be sued. I mean if you neglect an animal on any of the shows on National Geographic Channel, you can almost get a death scentence. BUt then again the Government is what America needs to be proud of right!

  • What a Crock! I guess that is what you get whenever you try to help the government....I think he should be paid for everything that has died and everything they still possess even if it is returned!

  • wow that's horrible

  • That's your tax dollars at work.

  • Wow! Thats the law for yeah!

  • I've read that the US government loves to confiscate things and not return them. Just pay cash for an expensive airline ticket at the airport. If they find enough cash on you, they will just assume it was drug related and take it away.

Or the poor grandmother who lost her land because her nephew or grandson grew cannabis on her land without her knowing it.

Of the people who lost their land by "imminent domain," although the "imminent domain" was only invoked for a private project: a mall!

  • PB i hope u run for president in 2012! lol

  • yeeeeaaaahhhh i love that when he says that lol i need to smile today. this video did it .

  • Sounds like a kind of "Ex post facto law" story. I though it was strictly prohibited by the Constitution in the USA.

  • What Constitution? Just ask the people of New Orleans about the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution when the military went door-to-door confiscating legally owned weapons.

  • Be careful you don't find you are acting for a foreign concerns because then you will not have a country any more as I would not like that.

  • lol,let me guess.

The Japanese nationalists said 'hey Tony you look a bit too pro-Japan, and people are becoming suspicious. We want you to make a video that is irrelevant and pro-American, so people will like you. Make sure you represent something loveable'

Nah, they would have provided him with the footage and told him exactly what to say. They already admitted that is what they do.

  • this man right here is very knowledgeable. just his laugh alone make's him very likable. glad i found this channel. this video is now one of my fav list

  • Hey Tony that hat looks good on you! I am with you man lets go 2 the hill and take it back!

    Five Stars!!

BTW Part 11 is up just wanted 2 give you a heads up... Peace

  • Really. The guy who owns (OWNS) Should be able to keep it unless he was in anyway HARMING THEM. It shows that the government did more harm than a private citizen. He also lost up to 200,000$ (Max Amount Possible) I hate to say it but he should be refunded it through tax Deductions. God Bless America!

  • Waste of Tax payer money, Time, and effort And animal Life. Could be Worse.

  • And it will get worse. We in the USA are headed for some tough times.

  • welcome to the USSA, the ironic thing is Russia might actually one day be a friend to the American people as they are one of few countries left not in total control by the IMF

  • Tony, it seems that the US justice system applies to everyone & everything except the Federal Govt. Why is that?

This guy should have gotten some help from his reps in Congress.

This is no different than the laws allowing the seizure of homes by the DEA when no evidence is provided. Homeowners are not allowed their property back under any circumstances. And usually the claim of dealing out of the home is made to the Feds by known drug dealers themselves (who have no credibility in court).

  • your goverment sucks...

  • As bad as it is, and it is bad, I still prefer to your government.

  • why?

Im sure youve never been to chile...

  • You are correct, I have never been to Chile. Have you ever been to the USA?

  • yea...many many times

  • Then I have to yield to you as you are in a better position to compare the two than I.

  • thank you. I never said america was bad (I just said I think your current goverment is bad)

  • I agree. We no longer have a representative democracy or a two party system.

  • While I'm usually one to give police the benefit of a doubt, this story sounds terrible. The reason they stated (true or not) was to protect endangered species... by illegally applying retroactive use of new laws... then 200 of them are dead??? NUTS, I say.

The thankful part is that, since he was found clearly innocent, he has a good case against the gov't entity that 'stole' his turtles. Not that it replaces the mans hard collected turtles, but he can sock it to them legally.

  • But he will not be able to re-stock the ones on the endangered species list, as the ones that died while in government captivity were obtained prior to those laws. Now it would be illegal for him to replace them.

  • A very good point. He won't be able to restock those 'breeds' of turtles. However, this only compounds the case he has against the gov't for killing them in the first place. Not only were they valued treasures, they were irreplaceable... not to mention, their entire witch-hunt against him was found lacking. The man clearly had every right to have them.

Hopefully he puts them in their place. It won't solve the underlying problem of gov't abuse, but it can provide a bit of closure for him.

  • This government is currently behaving no better than a dictatorship or a bunch of fascist or communist thugs. However at least the fascist and communist were honest in telling the people they have no rights. While in out country the bums are deceitful pretending we have rights they trample upon.

  • What we have here is an old fashion oligarchy. "We the people" have become "we the suckers."
