  • Can you just unscrew the back then buy a wallmount for it? Like will it work?

  • super clever stuff nice work

  • I'm sorry i don't really understand how you are cutting the metal could you help me out?

  • 3/4 of a cm? standard and metric...lol

  • this isnt free but it is very cheap the only problem is what about when you want to move it just when you do this make sure you wont regret it later if your monitor breaks.

  • Hey genius so now your monitor is only supported by drywall (holders) screws, toggles. By the way the "holders" are made of plastic. Even if you buy metal ones, the drywall is STILL made of........ Drywall. Derrr... Me so smart.

  • @j5pointoh How much does your monitor weigh?? lol obviously his is pretty big, and his hold up fine...

  • @j5pointoh what a douchey comment

  • cool video. I did this but my monitor fell off and broke. Can I send you the bill for repairs?

  • praise canada!

  • What your watch name?? Very nice!!!

  • @pitafej9 hehe its a breitling. and yes its a fake. i wouldnt be making free monitor wallmounts with a $7,000 watch on hahaha

  • very nice,......thanks

  • Pretty good idea it seems to me. Seems like some of these folks are VERY serious about the science and profession of monitor hanging. Your next video should show them how to hang THEMSELVES!!! HAHAHA. Thanks for the video man.

  • why not just unscrew the mount from the monitor stand. Screw it into the wall with long screws (into a stud!) and then slide the monitor back onto the mount? That would work for my dell monitor. Maybe others are different. (I don't spend much time looking at the back of monitors LOL.)

  • Some of you guys need chill :) He's just suggesting an idea. And it's only monitor mounting.. there are better things to get riled up about!

  • fuckin scab/tramp

  • thank you sooooo much for this...mounted a viewsonic 27" and it looks great

  • @Farmarz good to hear! :)

  • I like you monitor mount....but I would think that if you had that nice fancy DIY mount you could at least run those ugly wires through the walls.

  • i wouldn't even mount my trashfound 17" soyo crap on that.

  • @hitachi088 then don't.

  • Just one earthquake would pwn that monitor.

  • solid as rock ... *man touches* and monitor fall off xD

  • MAN THANK U SO MUCH VERY CREATIVE I WOULD OF NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS!! u saved me like 100 bucks thanks yo!

btw had to sub u for it

  • I did that and i put an 47 inch screen after 2 days m'y wall broke and my mom bitchslaped me

  • @AllianceShow cause u cant just mount ur tv anywhere ... u have to look for a spot thats not hollow ..

  • dry wall holders lol dick

  • GENIUS!

  • OR buy a fuckin mount for 15.00 and be SURE it never falls off or gets stolen....think it over.

  • @NCWC916 stop saying bad words bitch xDD

  • @Warfreak57 Yeah ok, fuck you....dont talk shit to people you dont even know child. Thats how you get your ass whooped! Not like I can reach thru the cpu and beat the fuck outta you like Id like to, but in real life....its not a good idea. Its all good tho, go with what you know.

  • @NCWC916 you know the meaning of 'xDD' ?

  • @Warfreak57 No, Im not 14....i dont speak high school.

  • How big is that one?

  • @SuperGrandisle 24in

  • Won't work for me, my desk is too wide and sticks out a ways from the wall due to wide legs... but... this is a great idea and fun to watch. Good job.

  • thank you bro i made one yesterday for my 26 inch

  • this is probably in one of the comments down a ways but i didnt feel like looking. Those are called drywall anchors.

  • Will glue work?

  • i just spend 30 bucks on my LCD 32 wall mount last year so now im so looking forward to build one for mine 32 LED thin profile but im kinda just looking to use some steel wire!

cuz the screws are to far from each other on a larger panel so wire will works much better and easy as well !

    thx anyway pal!

  • will this hold my 27 inch?

  • @The818TECHMAN818 yep no problem

  • @b2dmastersniper will it hold a 46 inch?

  • do you have metal problems or retarded? do you think you can mount a 46inc tv on a 40cm cd rom at least 15'20 kg tv?? and the holes on the tv are mhuch more wider than that pice of metal case didnt u notice??

  • @xXkelinuXx How do you know?

  • @seppomuppit then try it if your sure that it can hold it belive me it wont and if it falls dont blame us i will wait for yor replay when u try to mount it

  • @xXkelinuXx dude. relax, its quite obvious you would need to mount to studs and use a larger piece of steel. at least thats what i would recommend. I sure hope he doesnt try ^this^ idea with a 46in.

  • @xXkelinuXx my reply is that you are a fucking fag, lol

  • @seppomuppit that's who you talk to ur father ? you should be ashamed :)

  • @xXkelinuXx if you were my father I would punch you in the mouth.

  • @The818TECHMAN818 I wouldn't recommend it. If you're going to I recommend making sure that silver plate the author is referring to is properly drilled into stud(s). Not worth having your TV drop and bringing part of your wall with it. Depends on the weight of your screen. It will work - but as mentioned we recommend you make sure the plate against the wall is drilled into a stud, not just the drywall/plaster/ itself.

  • Two hours... only? Yeah, how about twenty minutes and buy a kit.

  • @GGGGeorger some of us have more time than money

  • @b2dmastersniper OK, I can respect that but I am a pro installer of security cameras and monitors are part of the business. The do it your selfer annoys me sometimes because I know they'd be happier with me but at the same time I recognize what I do they could learn but it'd be messy, sometimes incompetent and often time consuming, hence my need. Do it your selfers are very prone to over analyzation/stagnaztion. Whatever floats your boat, hasn't hurt my business.

  • agree ; )

  • @b2dmastersniper you that explains itself ;)

  • @GGGGeorger yeaah, dont have to be a dick ... he put time and hard work in making a wall mount for the benefits of the viewers ... if u dont like it GTFO

  • God, so over complicated. People think this is so "clever" but anyone without their head in their ass can find professionally designed methods to make the "clean look". Amatuers

  • Drywall " anchors"........

  • How do you hide the cables?

  • @JAREDMICHALLE i hid them with a small beta fish tank but you can drill a hole in the metal for the one on the wall (and through the wall) or through the wall hidden behind the monitor then drill another hole on the wall behind your desk where you can't see it and use a bent hanger to pull em through. works just fine. this method he shows worked 110% for me and it's sturdy as hell for me with a 19" samsung

  • @ir8wish Okay yeah I might just hide the cables behind the dresser like I've been doing. However I since the AV cables might be in the way,I might have to cut two holes in the wall, and then run the cable to the tv.If I do that,I'm having my dad help me LOL because I don't think I can really trust myself with saw.

  • @JAREDMICHALLE if you live in a house you could problably put them in the wall if u live in an apartment cant do much

  • @kixmgc Right because if you live in an apartment they'll be on your ass about it.We live in a house though,so it should be fine.My dad doesn't have holes cut in the wall,so I maybe should try those right angle plugs I found on Cables to go.Cables to go is a great website if you're looking for cables, hence the name.

  • All I have to do to get the stand off of my Sansui 19" LCD is just two screws on the back, then pull the tv right off the stand.

  • hey i got an idea, why don't you design the worlds cheapest tv mount. You'd make millions..

  • That's pretty slick, good job.

  • Hope you dont have earthquakes where you are !

  • cool little video! This is exactly how companies are now making free floating shelves! I'll have to look into using something other then an old drive bay, as I don't have one just lying around !:-)

  • lol who brings desktops to lan parties, asus g73-jh FTW

  • I was hoping your cd rom would be operational after you mounted it.

  • The odl CD casings I have don't seem to be strong enough for this... I can bend them with my hands (fingers)

    Any ideas?

  • @DrUmSensitive u may be able to bend them with your hands into a round shape but bent at a sharp angle (135 degrees) with about 6 inches of surface area on both pieces, u will find they can hold up alot of weight. the key lies in where the weight is being distributed. if the bend u made was round, the weight gets pushed further from the wall resulting in more stess being put on the bend. but a sharp bend brings the weight close to the wall and therefore alot less stress on the bend.

  • Good idea!

  • congrats on that.verry nice. but i think over time the monitor could fall.

  • What wallpaper is that?

  • Jew.

  • Thats a pretty cool way to do it.Thanks for the video

  • smart!

  • how did you attach the metal plate to the back of the moniter?

  • @marshallowns with the original screws that were used to attach the stand

  • NICE VERY CREATIVE!!!

  • haha do my ears decieve me or did you say line party?

  • drywall anchor! lol. great idea, definitely using it.

  • im scared to do this will i be able to put the stand back on

  • @iGotLava i take it off every week and put the old stand back on. (take the computer to a weekly shoot)

  • @b2dmastersniper how well can this stay up well because what would happen if there was an earthquake

  • @iGotLava well if u were to make an identical copy of the monitor plate, except a little shorter in height. U could mount that above the wall plate with a gap of 1mm or so, then the monitor could slide in and out from the sides and wouldnt be able to fall off. But in the event of an earthquake ive got much more important things to worry about haha

  • @b2dmastersniper hahahah yea i was just throwing creative idea out there

  • I did the same thing, but instead of the cd casing, I cut apart a cereal box for an even cheaper approach. BIG MISTAKE!! My monitor fell as soon as I let it go:(

  • Good job, thanks for sharing.

  • lol nice tut

  • clever!! :)))

  • Real freaking smart dude, lol, you have the mind of an engineer

  • sounds like a lot of work, you can get a mount for $20............

  • dry wall anchor

  • i use billy mays mighty hooks

  • @1poptart36 You bastard, hahahaha Billy Mays

  • @ZER0EVO xD yeah, may he rip in peace

  • I have that monitor! :)

    Good job.

  • Drill a hole in the corners and nail it to the wall :)

  • @MagnusRulerHardt the best comment ...lol

  • Good tip, thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, I've read through all the comments and never is it mentioned how you bent the metal so cleanly. I don't have an old cd-rom case lying around to understand the strength of the metal. Was just curious on the technique you used.

  • @garrettjrussell I placed the metal in a wide table vise. Make sure it is level. Then I bent it with my hands hitting it on the bent area with a hammer to make a sharp bend. That's about it.

  • I'm kinda confused. Does the top lip on the back of the monitor hang on the top lip of the wall plate, and the bottom lip on the monitor hang on the bottom lip of the wall plate? Or does the top lip on the back of the monitor hang on the bottom lip of the wall plate, and that's it? Hopefully that makes sense. Great idea btw, I had a disassembled cd rom drive in front of me and just realized I have nothing to cut it with.

  • @BigDog604 Does the top lip on the back of the monitor hang on the top lip of the wall plate. <-----Thats correct :)

  • Or you can got to monoprice and buy item 3613 for about $4

  • I would never mount a tv/monitor. give some room for her to breath -.-

  • @gdfschimpi007 did u just say "her" ? a tv is not a person and it doesnt breathe :P

  • @crazy6omen Yep, i treat my equipment like my woman :)

  • @gdfschimpi007 Yea, you don't treat it at all, seeing as you don't have/ can't get a woman.

  • @gdfschimpi007 what kind of a weird ass tv/monitor do you have?

  • @MrSuperProductions 42" LG you?

  • All that work and you couldn't drill holes in your wall to hide the wires?

  • @foxtrot870 hiding wires is a little bit harder than rigging up a home made wall mount.

  • can u do this at my house ill give u 20 bucks

  • @gobias3

    So you could molest him?

  • @dragonmustard2 no, so he could do this at my house. and ill give him 20 bucks

  • @gobias3

It's a joke, I knew what you meant. It is just uncommon to request someone you don't know to come to your house or someone requesting them to come to their house.

  • @dragonmustard2 its not at all uncommon to request a person to visit their private home when they have advertised they are perfectly cabaple of completing the task, in exchange for legal tender.

  • @gobias3

I agree, but I don't believe it is common at all to find someone from Youtube.

  • @dragonmustard2 for a job like this? no company can mount monitors on the wall, therefore this guy is the runner up. if you find a business of doing this, please feel free to let me know.

  • @gobias3

    Why not do it yourself?

  • @dragonmustard2 i would do it myself, however i am being hospitalized in my house for anal fissures, along with a mild case of the chicken pox. once these complications are distracted from my body i will do it myself, however it would be nice to have it mounted while i am enduring this pain.

  • @gobias3

I am sorry to hear that. You should contact a handy man or the Geek Squad. I don't know anything about the geek squad and they may not even mount your monitor but you can try, but I think a local handy man would be the way to go rather than hiring a youtuber. Get well soon.

  • Wow that's awesome! Nice idea man. Subscribed :)

  • Works Great. Thanks

  • Nice job, very nice technique. Keep up the good work.

I never would of thought of it.

  • You still going to sell these (fit any monitor, no mods)? I'd buy one for 15 bucks, those things are FUCKIN EXPENSIVE for a piece of metal.

  • @PoketamaVideos rofl yes they are expensive. i was guna make em but didnt get enough enquires so i decided not to. srry

  • if u wanna cut it, get cutco scissors they can cut through anything

  • what type of watch is that and where did you get it?

  • @jstucky1 .....fake brietling hehe.--- thailand

  • thats one thick lcd monitor

  • cool idea

  • creative!

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • thank you

  • Dont act like you invented something new with this wallmount wtf. In case you people dont know all kitchen cabinets and even wc tank is mounted that way.But thats wc tank that have position above the wc bowl not the one that seat on it.

  • how would u cut metal? ._.

    saw?

  • @PhanNTran jigsaw, hacksaw, metal cutting sissors, band saw

  • would it be possible tp use this method if there arent holes pre cut for a mounting bracket?

  • This is by far the best I've seen, I will make one for my room. Thankyou so much!

  • Good Idea!, thanks for the video :)

  • epic wall mount but uh,,, stupid speakers.

  • Thanks for the idea, currently working on a solution for my 3 LCDs based off of this. Thanks again.

  • I changed the idea a bit. Instead of a it hanging I bent the metal so that the monitor slides onto the wall.

  • wall plugs

  • Lol, Nifty ;D but I'm not gonna risk my 32" TV lol

  • Testing to see if this gets responded to :)

Nice, I am looking for a nice way to mount my 3 LCDs, I think this is a good idea, thanks!

  • @MisterCrunchyToast testing testing... 1.2.3... ;)

  • i coulda chopped about 4 minutes off this excruciating video. "its a french cleat. i made it from the metal casing of an old cd rom drive." (show pictures now)

  • @bacardiboi03 sorry i didnt make it to your specifications. didnt think it would be gettin 45,000+ views or i would have done a better job with it.

  • He said LAN Party ......HAHAHAH ...what a nerd

  • nice it' that easy, thanks

  • Great tutorial, did this to my 22" monitor and it worked great, thanks :D

  • thanks for putting out the effort, thats a good idea. must be a smart kid

  • how to screw my monitor hmmm???????

  • is that a surround for a pc monitor? now motorize the wallmount...

  • ...are you serious?

you must be in school for engineering?

yeah its free...,but then again, my farts are free; your idea stinks!

  • Quote "It's easier for me to show it rather than explain it" UnQuote... you could have saved 2 minutes of your life doing that!!... good video thx,,,

  • I work in a hardware store...

The thing that you couldn't think on is called drywall anchors.

  • u have steelseries qck??? :) :D

  • theyre called mollies

  • Nice. If there is an earthquake that knocks that off the wall, we'll have bigger things to worry about than our LCD monitors.

    Good work! I like free!
