For the lip stick i would use a close shade to the lip liner. This way it blends in and it dont have a diffrent color line. an just so you all know i am in cosmetology.

Cosmetology involves the ingredients put into make-up and also the techniques involved to compliment different features and face shapes.

Where lip lining is concerned the course does not teach that lipstick should match lip liner...Lip lining can always be slightly darker, it depends what look the client is going for. So I have no idea why you brought up that you would use the same coloured lipstick as lip liner just because you do cosmetology...
