  • Izit the powder special only for dog using? Can i use baby powder ?

  • My Golden has hair in her ears, but I never knew that you're supposed to pull it out. I take her to the groomer and they clean her ears every time, and sometimes trim the longer hairs in there, but should I request that they pull them out? She did have an ear infection awhile ago, but after ritualous cleaning it resolved.

Also, where can I get some of that powder from?

(time to go and pick my dog up from the groomers now!)

    Thanks!!!

  • That dog has an amazing temperament! Wow! :)

  • will plucking hurt the dog? it seem painful!

  • @brizeydacastillo it's benefits outweigh the risk, it's a good thing to do

  • OMG! Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! I have been having the hardest time getting my standard's ears plucked bc groomers said he moved too much. He is just 6 months...anyway, i watched this vid and did it exactly as you demostrated and his ears are BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much!

  • Do I really need the powder?

And I love all your videos and love your attitude!!(:

  • @95crackers Yes you do need the powder. It not only makes it easier to get ahold of the hair but it comes out quicker and easier and is less uncomfortable for the dog. It can also help with the smell in your dogs ears... though ear cleaner is best for that. ;)

  • Helpful. Thank you!

    God Bless You!

  • I've been viewing all your videos and find you to be so thorough and helpful. As well as gentle to the dogs. I want to start grooming my dog because he's had bad experiences with groomer. He is much calmer with me.

Thank you so much for showing us how. Kudos to you!

  • My Shih Tzu won't let me near her ears. She nearly has a panic attack. Is there a way to keep her calm while plucking and does that powder make the plucking easier?

  • @mimsy22 Well as far as keeping her calm goes, it just takes time. Try rubbing your fingers in her ears other times like when your snuggling on the couch for example. Yes, the ear powder helps alot! It allows you to get a good grip on what is usually slippery hair. ;) Good luck!

  • @mimsy22 She is so correct. It does take time and I often touch his ears when we are relaxed, like watching TV. He actually likes the feeling of my gently rubbing the inside of his ears but only deep enough to where my finger will easily reach. No further in. I clean the outer part of the ears often and especially after a bath to get them dry. He likes it. I started by plucking only a few in each ear and give him a treat after cleaning and plucking, slowly increase how much each time.

  • I don't know if any ask you how often do you have to pull the hair?

  • @AKingZWldAQu33nZUnVZ Each dog is different but I would say every 4-6 weeks is a good time period for plucking. ;)

  • Hi, where can I buy R-7 Ear Powder? Is it only available online?

  • Don't know about your area but the pet stores carry it around here. ;)

  • I'm in NYC. Been looking around but no luck. =(

  • @spanielmom93 I finally found some at a pet shop. It was more expensive than online. Great product, helped me grip the hairs well. Thanks for the video!

  • @Nightson80 Glad you found some, it sure does make the job alot easier. :)

  • What a good girl! I keep my nails short specifically for doing ear hair. I laughed when you had 'It's not that bad' at the beginning of your movie, because for some dogs it's the end of the world! (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about groomer to groomer. ;) )

  • Yes I do know exactly what youare talking about. ;)

  • hey!

a lot of people say that if u put water in ur dogs ear (in bathin you'r dog) it will die!

    is that true??

  • NO your dog won't Die if you get water in their ear... however it isn't a good idea because the more moisture in the ear canal the more of a chance of infection you have. Try getting some ear cleaner from your vet that dries and acidifies, that should be the only thing you need to put in your dogs ears. ;)

  • Thanks! ill try to find the product at my local pet store

    (pets at home) UK

  • i use tweezers to get the hair out and THATS IT, is that enough?

  • If you are comfortable using tweezers and are getting ALL the hair then I suppose that is fine. I wouldn't advise anyone else to do this as it is dangerous to put anything like tweezers into the ear, if your dogs squirms all of the sudden you could pinch or even worse stab your dog in the ear canal.

  • Your welcome and I am sorry to hear your dog had a bad experience at the groomers. :(

  • You did that like a PRO!...I just plucked my dog's ears for the first time today. It took a looooong time. I rinsed the ears afterwards with a product I bought from the vet and my dog feels so much better. No more scratching at his ears!

  • Thanks, I am glad your dog feels better. :) It sure does make a difference! :D

  • Dont we wish they were all as good as Bella!

  • Defintately!!! She is a good girl for sure! ;)

  • What a great tip on how to keep the ears clean and avoid infections. I have learned so much from you in such a short time. Thank you!!!!

  • Abbers shouldn't have hair in her ears but if she does it should come out. I still haven't gotten to see her haircut. :( LOL Thanks for checkin on Leo by the way. That is very nice of you. :)
