I can see every scene in Tom and Jerry made to this music. The old cartoons cannot be beat. I grew up on T&J, the Looney Toons, and other iconic cartoons that have lasted for decades, whereas newer cartoons might last a season or two, and not show up for years. I am a teenager 'not' and while Johann Strauss is a joy he was never overly classical - just an inspiring arranger. If one were to open themselves up just a smidge then it might be said that Strauss was probably one of the first, tentative rock and rollers. He was popularly popular. Regardless, these days at the very least he is, at least considered, a good cartoon scorist, if there is such a word.
