Johnny Graham had that signiture solo in that song, he wa born in my city of Louisville, Kentucky, and Maurice picked him up from here in 1972, and been a legend ever since.
greatest performance of this song ive ever seen... i always liked when they rearranged the vocals from the lp version, near the end of the song... i remember watching that Unicef special as a kid, when it came on TV originally...they're the greatest that ever did it, and that was them at the top of their game...
Grew up listening to ETF, but there is only One who belongs on the throne and thats God! Our i.e. humanites hope is only determined by the One in Whom God has entrusted to bring salvation through and that is His Son Jesus!
If you heard about this era the meassage was love and peace. The rest you have to figure out yourself. What about your bad manners? It is nothing I can do anything about.
@mickcorea so you're saying people don't behave like annoying demons with a death wish in europe? 'cuz I'd be glad to know that there's some hope for more than .0000000001%(literally) of humankind.
The band performed "September" and "That's The Way Of The World" at the Music for UNICEF Concert, which was broadcast worldwide from the United Nations General Assembly for NBC.The band donated their royalties from one of their songs to UNICEF.

Just saw them do this in concert a week or so ago. This song as do some of their others still give me goosebumps when I hear them. Anyone know the name of a song by EWF that is an instrumental. Actually, they do repeat something like "Way O" and sing and harmonize this one line. I used to hear it on the radio, they did it in concert but I just never knew the name of it.
Saw them recently in Providence, RI and it was still as good as the first time I saw them 30 years earlier at the same arena. God bless Phillip, Verdine, and Ralph for keeping this great band together. And may we all pray for Maurice White, the creator of this incredible, timeless group.
Maurice, you saved my live so many times. When monkeys scratched my shoulders during opiates withdrawals, when closed in rehabs with no music, when this life seemed so awful to carry it on and the last shoot was ready for my last flight.
Your voice, as happens in "miracles" whispered in my ear and said: "Could it be right, Stephy?"
If only I could kill your illness I could show how much grateful I am, and I'll ever be.
Some times you find an angel: That's the way of the world.
The ways of the world can sometimes make us slip in our destiny for reaching greatness and what we are truly capable of achieving. Maurice had a special way of listening to the Spirit and letting it guide him to lead the band to make all the great music they have over the last 30+ years. As fans, we should keep these songs in our heart as they truly are a gift. Congratulations on overcoming your addictions!
Such a beautiful message! Maurice is as beautiful in person as he is through his music. He would love to hear this from you. Go to Maurice White on Facebook or Myspace and tell him your story of how he through his music of love and wisdom effected your life. He has such a pure spirit. Remember in his song "Thinking of You" he said I would love to hear the testimony about the way you are you're my best friend. He listens to every word you say. Much Love.
@StefaniaCastelli Came across this, hopefully you are off the shit, taking your money, taking your life,we know there is so much more to life, Whatever it takes,it is doable,do it man, time is an enemy.
This song is the life sound track to all of our lives...Earth, Wind, and Fire have always been in the forefront of music and interpersonal realations...Have been my favorite of all time since I saw the Movie in 1976 Called "that's the way of the world" from a military movie theater in Tapie, Tawain..
Man...soul music with an actual soul unlike todays beat box canned crap. I grew up a hardcore 70s rocker & EWF was by far the best show I saw back then and one of the best to this day. Now I listen to a lot of jazz and pretty much everything but rap or country. And song is STILL just about my all time favorite regardless of genre! As much as I love them though I can't imagine seeing them w/o Maurice. No way, he was their beating heart. What a timeless, beautiful song.
My fave song from EWF... maybe, coz they have so many great hits.
BTW can anyone tell me where they shot this? Coz it look A LOT like the General Assembly hall of the United Nations! With the slanted backdrop behind the UN logo, it couldn't be anywhere else! Or is it?
no matter your musiscal preference rock, jazz, country, grundge, metal, gospel you must admit EWF is that group that everyone loves, forget politic and listen to EWF the beauty and spirit of there music.
Hey guys, I tried re-relasing this on video and CD when I worked for PolyGram in the 90's, but was told that PolyGram US had lost the contract. Is this available on DVD now????
I will now get up off the floor. Wow. I saw them Summer 2006...no Maurice White but still absolutely mezmerizing. Thank you for posting Mr. White in all his genius.
