Brooke Agnew's excuse is the economy this time. Something as trivial as an economic recession got in the way of such a great scientific voyage. He talks about some of the investors who were wiped out financially. But I think that if I were an investor and believed in his theory, I would benefit greatly from the discovery of another world.
