  • There better not be one person there that goes to church! Help the poor, feed the needy as Jesus did, but if this mother has a hernia so bad that her intestines are protruding from her body..screw her, I'm not paying for it...If we change to socialism healthcare, does that make us status lovers? Satan loves the greed in this room, instead of "you made your own choices" A Christian would want healthcare for the poor. I pay $445 a month for our insurance-1mom 3kids) and I spend 60 a month on food!

  • cry me a river, single mother. you've made terrible choices in your life and it's not everybody else's fault.

  • I & my husband both worked from our teens on, he served 10 yrs. in the army. He's worked with the mentally challenged, troubled youth & as a security guard receiving numerous awards & letters but rarely making more than $8. an hr. Yet he never had employee health care offered & in Ky. only people out of work with minor children or receive SSI get Medicaid.

  • this just showes all republicans are idiots and want america to fail

  • If you are trying to get people to see your side of the story and feel sorry for this woman and her child, you have failed miserably. I have no more empathy left, Obama and his minions have sucked me dry.

  • I would rather my money go to a woman who is working, paying taxes and trying than those who really just want the public dole. I have no problem helping vets or disabled or seniors. Its funny some of the people in the crowd sound like the holy rollers who on Sunday talk about "helping their fellow man" but on Monday show their true character....greed and self piousness.

  • want change go VOTE

  • Come on Generation Y lets show the world we are coming and everyone get out and vote. The baby boomer generation has been doing not so hot in goverment and it's time for Gen Y to let our voices be heard! We have to get involved! Get out and vote:) Don't let other generations dictate to us how it is going to be!

  • A few years ago I was going out with a single mother who had a stunning daughter. By 14 she was fully developed- great boobs, bum, pretty face- the whole package.

We used her to blackmail my boss- we went for a drink after work where she met me & proceeded to flirt outrageously with him. I played dumb, said goodnight & left them to it.

A few days later her mum confronted him (with photos) & revealed the girl’s age. Needless to say a large cheque was forthcoming, which we split 50/50!

  • @SuperTruth77 You are full of detritus. Please go to bed, I imagine 7th grade classes begin early for a pimple faced pervert

  • The mother should put the kid up for adoption since she can't take care of him by herself.

  • @OdinHyrule I'd love to see you put your child up for adoption because you can't get health care... It's not that easy.

  • @OdinHyrule Please...the adults are talking. And children who have been put up for adoption far so much better...right? Lets see some of the greatest serial killers were put up for adoption. There are far too many children up for adoption than can be adopted and totally dependent on the government, health care is lacking for these kids and in general the odds are stacked against them...so no, you are woefully wrong.

  • It's a lousy fucking system...It's socialism for the rich...but capitalism for the rest of us.

  • I am a single full-time working mother as well. The CHEAPEST insurance I can find is $537 a month. How is this affordable when I make $1,000 a month. Rent is $700 for a 1bd 1bath apt. Food per month for my daughter and I is about $400 depending on coupons. Electricity is $84 (very low because I go without) I have no cable, no phone, and no going out or dating. So someone please tell me how this works out for the single working mom when my husband died in Iraq and through no fault of my daughters

  • @karma2x Check with your local health department. Different states have different rules. They can be used as your primary care (dental too) and your billing is based on your income. Most areas allow you to pay when you can if you had an emergency. The typical bill for a physical with immunizations is about $20. Insurance is not affordable and it will never be until we all cancel our policies. Then the dominoes will fall and health care becomes affordable.

  • Haha, I saw that single mother working at a strip club, no joke. She makes six-figures and does not pay any income tax because everything she receives is cash.

  • From each according to his ability, to each according to the needs he has manufactured. Worked great in Russia - we'll love it here.

  • Bring back NANCY BOYDA!!!

  • "So why don't I know how to keep my legs closed?

And why am I a burden on America?

I had my choice of whether I should have kids or not and what kind of expenditures I was going to make, and I decided to have kids, even though I wasn't in a good relationship, and now I'm going to ask the taxpayers to deal with the consequences of my actions."

  • Strange, how Repugnantcans oppose redistribution of wealth under the guise of socialism.

Yet, when it comes to highly paid corporate fat cats engorging themselves with riches from poorly run corporations, while cutting compensation and getting rid of the people who have tried to "play by the rules", or paying out fat-cat bonuses to AIG Execs with taxpayer's dollars, that is just good old Capitalism at work. Yeah, Right!!

  • Strange how Democrats support fat cats at AIG whom they voted to give bailouts to, while Republicans voted against giving bailouts to AIG and other fat cats who are in the Democratic pocket book.

You ought to check the facts. Take at look at which party's members voted for the bailout.

  • i think thats the problem with my country every one is like "its not my job to pay for ur health care" but i guess its ok to dish out trillions of dollars in bailout to companies that dont need it, i wish we would think like europeans do and think about the wellfare of everybody and institute universal healthcare why are we so god damn greedy we already pay alot in taxes we could of saved ourselves the trouble along time ago.

  • Where were all these deficit hawks when Bush took us into two illegal wars, billions down the drain to contractors that were cheney's ass buddies.....yet a room full of them would sooner cover this woman with a blanket and stone her with her child. That is the conservative reaganomic christian bowel movement at work. But why must we all put up with their stench?

  • Jenkins mentions "tax credits" to help buy insurance. Although the largest demographic of the un-insured is the un-employed. That is why this health care crisis is coming to a head in the economic downturn. Many people don't have jobs or are underemployed. Tax credits, which are not refundable and never will be, to people who have little to no income is useless. Jenkins was sidestepping the issue with rhetoric that depended on the woman with the child not knowing what she was saying was untrue.

  • who was that lady who said "it's not our job to pay for your healthcare", we already have forms of socialism in this country, schools are paid for by people who don't have children and don't benefit, i don't see that lady complaining about that. and how can you be so cold to say that to someone... that lady probably has a cushy job with nice benefits and doesn't give a shit about anyone else but herself.

  • I would have laughed too. Hello, buy health insurance! You wear big girl panties don't you?! Your kid is probably eligible for Medicaid.

  • H1N1,health care,bail outs, are scams.

Yes bitch you make 150,000 dollars a year you dont care people.

Fuck you politicians you are all going to jail.

  • I am a single mother of three and I do not have health insurance

  • america's pretty much doomed from what i can see

  • if that woman would have just had an abortion she wouldnt have to pay for her child's healthcare- oh wait! conservatives want to make that illegal. save the fetus! but once you are out of the womb you're fucked. and why dont people just realize that having a healthy, productive workforce helps everybody!?!?!

  • They do not give a shit about the child after it comes out of the womb until the child is 18... and can fight :) On top of that, they insure their own dominance in numbers by cutting down on school funding - Uneducated citizens vote for whatever propaganda makes them believe. It is ridiculous =\

  • I love how people don't realize what they will pay for if she doesn't get coverage. When she goes to the doctor, its the ER and we pay, when she gets sick and doesn't go to the ER until it's way too late, we pay, when she can't work, we pay, when she dies we pay, and her kid, foster care, state care, maybe prison one day, just to exaggerate the possible for a bit, but anyway, we'd all wind up paying more for her without a public option.

  • Republicans all live perfect lives. They never lose a job or get divorced or take any aid whatsoever from the government.

  • i like how these republicunts suggest the same programs they vote against (e.g. medicare, medicaid, schip). plus, how is the government giving a person money to buy insurance different from a government run healthcare company??? it's still government intervention. she's being a hypocrite.

  • I like the person who yelled out "I shouldn't have to work to pay for YOUR healthcare!" We should just insert any word into that blank. "I shouldn't have to work to pay for your __" school road military scientific research and so on The USA should just declare: Every man, woman and child for themselves!! You should have to pay a new toll every mile you drive on the private road or walk on the private sidewalk. Elementary school should be $500 a month. Hell, why not $1000??
  • The best part is it seems it's a room full of old people. So maybe we should stop paying for their Medicare. Idiots.

  • Or maybe Social Security...

Why should I have to work to pay for those old, non-working parasites?

Put 'em out to pasture and let the dogs have at 'em.

This is the USA dammit! Every man, wonam and child for himself!

If you have kids, why should YOU have to work to pay for THEM? They're just freeloaders!!

Put some food out in the yard, give 'em some baseball bats and let 'em have at each other. Last kid standing gets to eat.

that'll learn 'em the AMERICAN WAY!!

  • A tax credit sounds pretty good to me.

    Thanks for the video!

jenkins did and said nothing wrong

  • publicxxxer....That is one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard. Ever stop to think why she's a single mom? Maybe her husband died in Iraq/Afghanistan? Ass spelunkers like you should put a plastic bag over your head, then duct tape it around your neck.

  • But it's much easier for fuckheads like publicxxxer to dismiss this woman as a whore who created her own problem than to think of a real solution to the difficult problems which face our country.

  • That's probably true. Also, he is probably hung like a light switch. So, to him, all women are whores.

  • sounds like a republican solution

  • Exactly! Just like my own mother. Getting divorced and ending up single.

    What a tramp!

  • I agree; what an egregious cunt-like statement to make. They better never get within ten feet of me, WTF happened to decency and compassion? These repugni-cunts all deserve to die from aggressive colon cancer.

  • I very much disagree with Rep. Jenkins' ideas & theories on healthcare, but I don't think she was laughing at this young lady. It seemed like she was trying to keep things light because she could sense how hostile the crowd was, and she knew she was being recorded. She appeared to be trying to control the meeting with a degree of mildness and professionalism that is uncommon at most events these days

  • I love how some of the old farts don't want to help this mother get decent medical coverage. Meanwhile, they love their government Medicare and still manage to collect their social security. Additionally, these retirees all readily take advantage of property tax abatements for seniors while this mother must pay to support their old butts while they spout their Rush Limbaugh rants. These retired seniors only care about themselves and no one else. Maybe we should just eliminate their medicare.

  • @SuperContinuum I agree, lets cut off all welfare programs: medicare, medicaid, social security. Most of the people receiving these benefits are actually rich anyways, no joke.

  • @SuperContinuum Most of them are probably christians.

  • I would like to apologize if my comments offended anyone.

  • Medicare and everything else she's talking about would be government programs.

  • I am uninsured and I don't want insurance, I save money every month and put it in an account and have been doing so for over a decade. I have saved much over the years. Yet bureaucrats want to force me to buy insurance. I look after my health because it is in my interest to do so yet bureaucrats wants to "force" me to subsidize the healthcare of the many who choose to eat hot dogs and big macs and drink lots of coke.

  • So...are you Superman or a Billionaire?

-At any moment, by no fault of your own(ie blood clot, injury, etc), your kidneys could fail. If you need dialysis therapy, it will cost you $66,000 per yr, with an avg 3-5yr wait time for a transplant(per NIH data)

Transplant surgery and 1st yr post surgery cost- $90,000.

Plus, $17,000 per year for the rest of your life on medications.

    1st 10yr est.= $410,000(+) & you'll miss at least 3yrs of work.

Cancer & bad car wrecks can cost more.

  • You are the one supporting something being shoved down my throat. Would you like it if the state forced you not to eat hot dogs and big macs. How about a law where you must eat nutritional food grown in non-depleted soils, processed sugar is banned etc? Do gooders like yourself ought to stay out of the business of others. If I need to pay $100,000 for something I'll pay it out of my own pocket., why should I be penalised for saving and being responsible?

  • What happens if you have an accident that leaves you unable to work ever again? Is the "government dole" good enough for you then? Your savings are gonna run out pretty damn fast...then what are you gonna do?

  • Bureaucrats? No. Republicans want you to purchase said insurance, and penalize you if you don't. The public option would be the opposite. But your Republican friends won't have that.

  • And what will you do if someday you and your supremely healthy body are hit by a bus? Or an uninsured motorist, or a tree falls on you...or a tornado slams into your home? Without health insurance, you have to pay those bills you are going to rack up...just living a healthy lifestyle does NOT mean you do not need health insurance. Can you really afford to pay full price for a visit to the emergency room or a stay in the hospital for injuries suffered in an accident? What savings will be left?

  • I give Jenkins the benefit of the doubt on laughing. I think it was the kids antics. Regardless, the crowd's idea that they've no responsibility to help others is pretty unChristian. The woman is clearly working full-time and still can't get insurance. This is not a deadbeat seeking a handout. Any more hours at work and she has even less time to devote to parenting. I suppose the crowd doesn't feel obligated to pay for the fire department, military, police, library or other government program.

  • yes, i have a good job with health insurance, but my brother has a chronic illness, he still works but has to pay $600 a month for ins., it all depends on which side of the coin you are on. If you have healtn insurance at cheap cost , sure you dont wont things to change. But if you are disadvantaged, it is damn tough. She is just a puppit of the Republicans. She really doesnt care about poor people at all, what matters to her is re election.

  • Actually, she's laughing nervously because the crowd is getting rowdy. She's clearly not laughing at the mother. But she's saying is worse than laughter. What really bothers me is the guy who says "It's not my job to give you health insurance".That's what this is about: The harboring of delusions that we are not connected and responsible to each other. We are in the grip of social war. Its time for a truce.

  • Look at how ugly and mean the crowd is, that's why most of the world hates this country.

  • True; it's these selfish fat fucks that comprise the majority of America's population. If you ask me, Americans deserved 9/11 and are unworthy of the protection from foreign and domestic terrorism that they expect from their government since so many goddamn rednecks badmouth the government all the time! If they hate the government so much, what makes them think they deserve the government to keep them safe?

  • Jenkins is a real piece of work.

She doesn't seem to or want to understand that the insurance corporations make health care unaffordable for one of every eight Americans.

I just buried a friend in Alaska on Saturday. She died because she was 62, had worked only 39 "quarters" so was a quarter short of qualifying for Social Security Disability. She had spent her adult life volunteering for years, full time, while raising two kids.

  • Healthcare Reform is not Republican nor Democrat. It's not a political issue but a social issue, but so is employment, education and pursuit of happiness. To insure about 10 million who don't have ANY access to healthcare, you don't need to sacrifice everybody's access to secure employment, achievable education and the ability to reach financial success. Those who want real universal coverage should go to Cuba where healthcare is the great "carrot."

  • Obviously raising a child as a single parent is tremendously difficult and it is the absolute height of indecency to scoff and make light of this woman's trials. If anything the sheer percentage of single mothers in this country is a testament to the tenaciously robust women in America. However, poverty rates for single parent families should tar the soul of every american like the sand of La Brea.

  • When she said "I am a single mom" It was kind of like she was looking for a standing ovation as if she said that she was a soldier or something. People like this are a drain on our country and think that every one owes them a living.

  • MrBullfrog..."Single moms are a drain on our country and think that every one owes them a living"...

First you tell SINGLE WOMEN not to abort their baby even if they are unmarried...then you insult them because they kept their baby.

Can you be more of a FUCKING MORON ??

And what about mocking our falling 4,500 Armed Forces War Heroes who died in Iraq leaving behind a child with only a mother but no father !!

REALLY ... Can you be more of a FUCKING MORON ??

    Hate filled Republicon!!

  • It appers we no longer believe in corporate (not companies but us as neighbors) responsibility. The Bible Christians so often quote in political arenas, has a story concerning mercy - remember the Good Samaritan? Jews & Samaritans were as different at that time as democrats & republicans are today. Remember the story? The Samaritan showed MERCY paying for the Jew's care from his pocket with the promise to give more if needed-there was no discussion/requirement- the care was needed and given.

  • good point. why are christians today so angry and violent. doesnt seem like what jesus would do

  • Comment removed

  • i think i would have asked that lady where she lives, if she has cable, or even a television, if she has a fancy cell phone, if she drinks, smokes, or what other luxuries she may have acquired over the years. and if she does, i would ask her why these things are more important than purchasing a small premium for herself and her kid. i understand that personal responsibility isn't in style anymore...so i guess i'm being too insensitive. ah well.

  • French health care>American health care

  • Jenkins is an unpatriotic shill for the insurance industry, a shitty politician and should be removed from office, one way or another.

  • another video full of dumb liberal spin, change the heading, this is ridiculous

  • republicans are the least empathetic people Ive ever met or heard speak. cant believe these people think they are christians. takes a little more than saying jesus on sunday people!

  • No liberals think supporting abortion and stem cell and homosexuality is being a good christian. Liberal idiots are the down fall of this country. And everyone of these spineless immoral murders should be held responsible for all that is wrong with America today.

  • there is nothing wrong w/ these things. you have been brainwashed by your pastor. It is sheep, people who cannot think for themselves, who are ruining this country. the ignorant are violent. most repulicans are uneducated. that is why they believe in such stupid things like the birther movemen or deather or indoctrinator. ignorance is the culprit.

"the ability to entertain a thought w/o owning it is the mark of an enlightened mind"

  • You are out of your mind. You sound like a recovering drug addict or a reformed convict . Who thinks throwing around scripture makes you a good christian. Republicans don't support murder, immoral behavior , .and playing God. Family morals, responsibility ,and values are what republicans value. This current administration is a true reflection of how disgraceful liberals really are. Socialism and communism is your flag.

  • judge not...republicans are hate filled ignorant people. they hate anything thing that isnt just like them. thats not family values. you are closed minded fools who are ruining this country. creationists, deathers, birthers, indoctrinators...etc

  • Simple minded idiot are those the only words you learned in prison. You don't have a clue how incoherent you sound. Maybe they should of rethought your birth.

  • hate is not a family value. if my definition of happiness does not interfear w/ your pursuit of happiness it should not concern you. premature death is a fact of life. let me drop some math on you:

    1,2,4,8,16,32,...

notice a pattern? now look more closely:

    1+2<4

    1+2+4<8

    1+2+4+8+16<32...

notice a pattern here? we have a world pop rate of 3%. that has a DOUBLING every 23 years. which means, by the second pattern,... Im sure you can figure the rest out yourself.

  • Rep. Jenkins isn't laughing at this single mother and her kid, she's laughing at stupid immoral liberals like you.

  • I agree, liberals have convinced themselves that they are doing good for mankind. They leave a stinking trail of offenses behind them. Immoral murders, their weak leaders and their destroying our country.

  • Shes not laughing AT HER and her situation but laughing at her proposal... Misguiding headline for the video...

  • if the numbers of doctors and nurses being hired are not on the rise, how do you expect them to handle an extra 47 million people

  • If she doesn't have a health insurance, she will avoid going to the hospital until she or the son is gravely ill, and then she will end up Emergency room which costs three times more, hospital can not reject her based on her inability to pay, and then the tax payers will pick up the tab, it is still free healthcare.

  • She laughs because this woman is a moron.

  • .....shes a single mom that works fulltime...thats impressive....but shes still another 1 out there wanting free healthcare...

  • We need more accessible healthcare, but we have 2 opposing views on it. Republicans are for free market reforms (ie. consumer choice drives competition while govt. intervention screws it) and democrats are for govt. intervention (free market hasnt worked, ignoring interventions already involved or upholding the involvement). Both sides are right, and wrong. Something needs to happen, people do suffer through no fault of their own. But I also do not trust the govt. to run it correctly.

  • I also laugh at the morons who think big government will solve their ills, so to speak. Fools all.

  • get tis dumb bitxch off stage aint govs fault u a slut wit a stupid baby sit down get a job

  • See,you are part of the problem, dummy, first of all,she has a job, which is something you apparantly no nothing about. You make assumptions about her and you have no clue what your talking about, perhaps she has a deadbeat daddy whos not pulling his weight, which is something you probably no alot about. Why dont you go learn a little something about what the issues are with why healthcare needs reform, and while your at it,learn how to spell.

  • I am in Healthcare and I see it everyday, day in and day out!! I watch these people bleed our system and cost tax payers because of the way they live and mistakes they make!! Deadbeat Dad? Let hussien obama assign a DEADBEAT CZAR!!

  • First off, I was replying to ZeusOwnsYou,secondly,if you understood the problem, maybe youd realize shes not asking for a handout, just affordable healthcare. If youd listen, she has a job and pays her bills, and would like many others pay for health insurance if it was reasonable. When are you freakin people gonna quit defending the insurance companies who are fucking everyone

  • Funny I have no problem with my insurance,I pay it and they cover me,simple! Oh I could buy other things but insurance is so important, thats why I never ,never missed a child support payment ,and kept insurance on my child till she was 18 years old! Now I am very well off because sickness and injury never broke me! Thank you B.C.B.S.

  • Well maybe youve got a good insurance provider,or maybe youve never had to rely on them for any major sickness or injury, I dont know, but whatever the case the numbers dont lie when it comes to claim denials and skyrocketing premiums, and insurance executives deciding what you get and dont get and not drs

  • Child support? So you ruined some woman's life with a divorce and then brag when you pay the child support you are supposed to pay any way?

How many times did you cheat on your wife before the divorce anyway.."Stud"rock?

  • Why did you have a child if you cant take care of it!! Stop buying Marlboros, stop paying babysitters so you can party with your friends. You can buy insurance you choose not to so you can make payments to Rentacenter, your child is your problem I should not be taxed because you forgot a condom!!

  • Where was the laugh at the "uninsured single mother?"

  • 1:45

  • Hawkerdoo, what the hell are you talking about? Now you call me a liberal? I sympathathize with terrorists? Maybe you need to get a grip when you post shit like this.................WMVDragonfrye, You need to get a grip on yourself. Oh wait you sympathize with terroist. You gay liberals will let a rapest in your front door and forgive them after they destroy your wife. What a pathetic fucking joke you are. The only thing dying here is your fucked up ideoligy mush for brains.

  • Kinda like useless lefty hippies trying to derail our troops at war.

  • @jamesnomad76 No matter what the circumstances, that kid's mom doesn't have health insurance. We cannot legislate responsible parenting. ( I think the moment we tried, Republicans would howl the loudest, don'tcha think? ) So what's left...?

  • Elizabeth Smith. are you crazy. you family has bent over backwards to help you. how dare you say you do it alone. you should be ashamed of yourself. and if your working full time where is my child support for our son. you remember your oldest that you left with me and havent seen in how long.

how bout the money u could be spend on child support and health care but instead you get stoned and drunk and get dui and busted with pot. huh. are you really the responsible person you say you are.

  • From hence forward I vow to never argue with fools or madmen.

  • How can you judge this woman when you don't even know her? What if she's a single mother because she was raped? Or if her husband divorced her?

  • Actually, I am close to resenting my vote for him. If he doesn't succeed in bringing this reform to health care, I feel as if my vote didn't matter.

  • No fuck you dude. That's an easy way out of an argument. Your side has no tangible grasp on reality.

  • Okay, so you think when a parent loses their child, the first thing they think is "how could I politicize my son's death?" I am sorry, but that is just insane.

  • Yeah, fuck them and their children for giving their lives in a war started on false pretenses, right?

  • You are a fucking idiot. In reality you don't know shit about this woman.

  • So you want the efficiency of the postal service and the compasson of the IRS intertwined in your government-ran health care system? I'm no Canuck but I do live in the States and watch with much dismay that Americans who are pro Obama Plan, want to mess with the greatest and most advance health system of the worlds in jeopardy. Let's insure ONLY those who don't have insurance or anything. As Rep. Jenkins was explaining to that obnoxious woman, there are plenty of programs she may qualify for.

  • Programs like what? SChip might cover her child, but she's above the poverty line for programs like medicaid. The United States' health care system might be the most advanced, but the greatest? It's not just for people that don't have insurance, it's for people who are being suffocated by sky high premiums and denied care for previous conditions.

  • Also, the programs she was suggesting are government programs. Still think she should go on them?

  • Clearly you do not know what you are talking about. We are rank 37 in the world and are the lowest of the highly developed nations. Honestly, the ppl who are fighting the plan even admit that our system is horrible and needs drastic change fast. Only ppl who are rich or work for a big company getting health insurance makes a lot of sense huh? The perfect system... if you're Hitler.

  • THE BEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD!! We are ranked 37th in the world. That's far from the best.

  • Depends of whose statistics you read. US ranks #24 of 191 in life Expectancy, #14 of 191 in Mortality amenable (that is preventable mortality. The WHO (World Health Organization) published this rankings in 2000 for the LAST time due to the inmensity of variables. France is #1 in almost every category, but the French people pay more than 50% in taxes and, although there is universal coverage, people have to buy complementary coverage which many people cannot afford. Results? People go untreated!!

  • so, what about the belt buckle? where's momma?

  • Thats crazy assumption, I agree with you that we shouldnt have to pay her way, but you have no idea why she is where she is. Her babys father could have died in a car wreck for all you know. To claim she was trying to trap him with a baby is ignorant at best and sexist stereotypical slander at worst.

  • oh, i get it, chainspell, you're behind on your child support and now you can't get away with it like your dad did 'cos they got it all online now! har har

  • Rep. Jenkins is quick to mention Medicaide and Schip. Those are programs that Republican Congressmen always vote against Funding. When are people going to wake up and smell the coffee burning. The Republican party only serves the Rich and Powerful Corporations. It doesen't give a damned about single mothers, let alone their children. They have retired old people, who are on Medicare, up in arms about Gov. Insurance. Hell, Medicare is Gov. Ins.

  • I totally agree with Jenkins, its not the gov's fault your a single mother. You should have thought about your walet before having a kid

  • she didn't laugh at her.

  • she told her to be an adult and buy some insurance...this wasn't one of the "laughing at her" news stories, it's just mistitled by the channel who named this posting

  • jeez, chainspell, you gotta bad mommy fix. Wha' ? did she beat you with the belt buckle or summat?

  • Why should I pay for this person's health care?

She doesn't have health insurance because she lacks skills in money management. She looks like someone who had a baby when she was 17, and now she wants people to fix her problems for her. FUCK THAT SHIT!

  • asshole

  • I thought we were a Christian nation and Republicans are supposed to be Christian Conservatives. Whatever became of Christ's words about love, compassion, and sharing each other's burdens? What became of defending the orphan and supporting the widow?

    Where did we go wrong?

  • I agree we need to help those in need, however it is not the government's job. My family donated a over half a million dollars two years ago to charities, but with Obama's taxes, we have only been able to donate a tenth of that. Just putting it that out there.... I don't feel we should be FORCED to support everyone who can't support themselves.

  • Jesus never said that certain people should be able to lay around while others work hard to support them. We do take care of our unfortunate and those who come across troubled times with unemployment welfare etc.

  • This woman, like so many others, works yet still can't afford health insurance.

  • Or that their husband died. =|

  • Or either the guy that got you pregnant was not ready to be a father and help raise the kid.He could have made promises to her, like "I love you and will be with you no matter what" and "I'll help raise the kid with you",but decided to play the field. He didn't want to be burdened with a kid.He could have been a real dickhead, huh???

  • The guy that got her pregnan?t, because she was an innocent vitim sitting around minding her own business and a guy ran up and ' got her pregnant'

No one 'gets you pregnant', yeah guys are dirtbags when they dont do the right thing and be a good responsible dad but women need to have the fucking brains to make sure there is protection used cause THEY are the ones who who end up raising babies nearly every time.

It sounds sexist but the fact is women need to be more careful and smarter

  • Has anyone actually ever been outside the U.S.??? There's no lines in Canada or Great Britain....just more clinics where needed instead of a church, a Best Buy, or a fucking Starbucks...

  • there is plenty of lines in ER rooms at Canada. But the system works.

  • I want free stuffs! I made bad life choices you should pay for mah stuffs!

  • why the fuck is everyone writing essays???

  • this chick missed the whole freakin' point! the congress woman just said that she doesn't want a public option, she would rather reform the system in a way in which people have affordable options that they can pay for themselves...and then this idiot woman goes, "i want an option i can pay for"...uhh HELLO, that's what the congress woman just said!! ugh...this just goes to show how these people for this bill don't even understand it! i would laugh at her too...

  • Maybe the government should provide a baby sitter also... Or are you just using your kid as an exhibit? Gross.

  • When ppl talk about Gvt to take its hand out of their business,I am asking myself are these the same Americans i knew that their pants were taken off by bush adminstration and told to shut up ? Where were all this false patriotism and bravado during Bush time? I feel sorry for this single mother to live with stupidest ppl i ever seen on earth.

  • do you even know what Ameriheath Mercy is?

  • Just more of a reason why the U.S. sucks a big fat one. Go Canada! Free health care!

  • Go Canada! Go Mexico! Free medical care and subsidized medications!! Free Hospital treatments!!! Free everything, including free waiting at home for weeks before you have an appointment, free pass to the other side when a burocrat things you're not worth the investment, namely if you're retired or too sick to work. FREE END OF LIFE COUNSELING!!! Yeah! Let's go US. Trade your outstanding market driven medicine for social mess!!!

  • Yeah, I want my insurance company telling me they won't pay. Have you ever talked to one of these clowns on the phone. The ONLY people happy with their health insurance are those that never made a major claim OR those that have VA or Medicare (both single payer gov. run)..... The US ranks 38 out of 40 for best healthcare and we pay double for our services. Don't you remember when people were traveling to Canada to buy their meds? You're an idiot.

  • It's bad that there are so many ppl getting treated? What kind of stupid selfish reasoning is that? We have less lines in the US because less ppl are getting treated. Millions of ppl without health insurance can't go anywhere for help. But thank god the rich and the guys who work for big companies don't have to wait in lines right? That's a reasion why big companies run this country. Ppl are afraid of entrepreneurism in the US cuz we all NEED benefits.

  • you = dumbass

  • So much emotion so little fact!..Bank bailout = billions to what about main street. Oh! by the way those who bag on Canada will be surprised to hear the latest Canadian survey, 86% of Canadians say they are happy with their health care system. Of course, there are a few exceptions of course the extreme right will exaggerate to make political mileage. Something is wrong, we have the costliest Health care in the world yet we rate only 31st in longevity and more than a third goes to admin costs.

  • Russians still miss the old days of Communism and Eastern Germans still long for entitlements as provided by the Democratic Republic of Germany (Communist Germany). Maybe Canadians don't know any better either. Let's not assume Canadians have tested the quality of care available in the US.

  • No, they know better...that's why we love coming to the U.S. and having an accident that requires a few stitches and have it cost a couple thousand....boy that's real practical....practical for a monopoly.

  • so funny how she started laughing at the audience, they were about to mob her. i woulda dropped my mic and ran. thats why women always drop the ball on speeches like palin lol

  • "It's not our responsibility to pay for your health insurance."

    Damn right.

  • but that lady says she works full time surely this most afford some degree of health cover for her and her son. For god sake she's human people ge ill and it IS the responsibility of the state to have some regard at least for the welfare of its citizens. we are not cavemen, it is not survival of the fittest!

  • is it also not our responsibility to pay for your fire protection, police officers, postal service, medicare, social security, library books, should i go on ?

  • My grandfather worked his entire life. From 16 untill 63..At 20 he was in a major acident that basically left him bionic with so much metal in him..and the last 8 or so years towards the end his body began to shut down on him..He was a truck driver..He failed his DOT test and was forced to get off the road..just a few years of retirement..and guess what, He was unable to collect retirement money..Now my grandparents only get 1500 bucks a month between both of them to live in.Complete garbage.

  • This country pisses me off so bad..Maybe we'd actually be able to get shit done if people stop arguing. This country is all talk no do.

  • This generation is. But in the past that was not the case.

  • I made bad decisions in life, I screwed around

got pregnant or maybe I just ran off the father

Either way I can't afford to take care of my kid, so now I think all of you should be FORCED by the government to come to my aid

Oh and by the way make it snappy!

  • Adoption.
