Rachel Goswell once turned up late for a gig at king tuts in glasgow...she stood on my toe on the way through the crowd to get to the stage.....I still cherish the moment...
slowdive are still one of my favourite bands after all those years. music styles might be more popular in certain times and less in others, but slowdive's music is out of those cycles for me, it's just timeless and always comes along with beautiful memories of times gone.
so, anyway, i am going to listen to ballad of sister sue now:-)
I saw Slowdive twice, once at slogugh festival and the other at the Birmingham institute. Strange thing was I took my sister to see them at birmingham and she hates inde music so I was gobsmacked when I went looking for my sister in the venue only finding her talking to racheal at the bar.
Sigh. So many good memories..takes me back to when I was 20 years old back in Hollywood. Slowdive played in this hole-in-the-wall venue near the corner of Argyle and Hollywood Blvd where I fell in love with a girl named Christine Prettyman.
I still listen to their albums today and think about all the places where the song played out in my head: Naples Long Beach and The Sunken City in San Pedro.
i was 20 when i got this album.i listen and see a sun in a blue winter sky...so many memories,i moved from london 2 australia.....no more winter sun.beautiful ending though to the song though!!
Thanks very much for putting this up. Is this an official video? It is my favourite Slowdive song and you've just made me 21 again for a few minutes. The video is very like the video I had in my head - slow-mo and fast-mo of clouds mixed with things I'd see whilst walking around London with JUST FOR A DAY on my Walkman.
I found and downloaded a bunch of their music last night legalsounds . com
I think I paid 9 cents a song. I was looking for a place to download Slowdive's music and I was lucky enough to find that place. Listening to it now here at work. Cheers!
I spent last night downloading much of their stuff. I forgot how good they sounded.
I never got a chance to see them live. I saw Ride, Lush and a few others. But missed out on Slowdive. If I am looking for something that I cannot find I will message you. You can do the same from me. Cheers
