"Ethnic music from ... Prahran", eh Peter? As one of their most faithful groupies (who even found myself grooving in this video in my palm-trees jumper) I still think they were Australia's best ever band. So great to re-live moments like these on YouTube. Great blast from a such crazy past!
Woo-hoo! I just found out that "Smoke Dreams" is available online... but, as much as I love every track, I've gotten stuck on 'Mobile Line'. Think I'll keep playing it until I go mad. Thanks for posting this and reminding me of how much I adored the lads. I wouldn't have thought to check again... finally, I have it again!
Anyone from Camberwell High School would remember their first band, the Jelly Bean Jug Band, in school Talent Quests circa 1968 and 1969. Fantastic!!!! The Conway brothers were brilliant. Only thing is that I didn't want to eat the jelly beans they scooped out of their whiskey jug and threw at the audience, post-performance!
Oh! What a fantastic performance! I first saw them playing at the Pram Factory in Melbourne, and loads of other venues and festivals since then. They are brilliant!
Why has Peter Scott (jug, tea chest bass) been left out of the credits?
