No what she said is that when you become an advanced braider on other people's hair you can apply the same skills to your own and for that you will be a beginner. So this video doesn't show anything useful. Why would an advanced braider on their own head need a with instructions anyway?

@indigocake Because some people can't break the threshold. I didn't know I needed TWO mirrors. AND AGAIN. She stresses PRACTICE. Everyone is fussing about how this taught them nothing. Of course it didn't teach them anything- they are watching it instead of practicing. It's a little bit different when you do it own your OWN head btw since you don't have a full scope of the head (2 mirrors). I have to practice every day to get it right. Why do people think this stuff is instant ramen!?

This statement makes no sense to me. Clearly what people were expecting was an instructional tutorial showing the technique. They didn't expect to watch this vid and suddenly have the know-how. It doesn't teach them anything because it doesn't provide anything they can learn from not because they're not practising. And obviously they were hoping for this vid to aid their practise.

It just depends on what you can grasp. An experienced braider could braid extremely short hair. (Make sure your nails aren't too long because it could make it difficult to grasp.)
