The Yanks fly alot on wednesdays at places such as the Mach loop, Ive seen more F15s over Aberystwyth this year than Tonkas or Tiffies, but ive seen loads of Hawks.
i remember back in 96 when i was camping in either windermere or buttermere we were woken up to tornados and jaguar flying the same height as the hill we were perched on. What an amazing sight. Coming from new zealand and used to seeing A-4's at low level, how great to see a tornado at full speed at low level busting pass. Loved to have them here!
they may not be USAF, the RAF owns a few american jets to play around with! and i was in the lake district last week, all i saw was 4 tornados, 1 hawk, 2 teccanos, a nimrod, and a hercules, they train round there because they can do low passes over the lakes, training for afghanistan
Lakenheath is in Suffolk, the lakes are a well known low fly training area for the RAF / USAFE and occaisionally NATO airforces. They tend to stick to 2 main Valleys Dunmail Raise nr Keswick and the M6 Pass near Tebay.
awersome when i was in keswick a F15 was flying low over my head and then banked , it was awersome i never see typhoons though :( maybe i will this year
We were on top of Cat Bells near Keswick when we saw them. There were 2 flying around for a good 30 minutes, low level up and down valleys then pulling hard and going over the peaks. I've never even seen the RAF flying like these boys were. Brilliant.
We was at lake district yesterday 2 fighter jets flew past. Wasnt sure wat ones they were. Was anyone there yesterday ?

@rors666 the RAF do not own any such American aircraft, apart from the C130s, where have you heard of this?

I constantly get tornados and typhoons flying over my head but i have only ever seen US jets fly past once and that was a couple of F-16s.
Where abouts in the lakes was this??
