  • "roth is just going to go for one". wtf else is supposed to do?

  • who the hell goes to watch bowling

  • @ljmuzza People who enjoy bowling like me :)

  • @DenverDee303 i suck @ bowling but i still liked :d

  • 19 years...

  • Burn baby burn

  • Not a single decent haircut in the joint...

  • "I guess he's just going to go for one." NOPE

  • lucky.

  • I bet he gets all kinds of Girls

  • And then he woke up

  • i did this once when i was like 10ish couldent throw it very hard back then and was foinf so slow that the ball hit the 7 and was thrown if ya like to the 10 knocking that down

  • Bill Straub has 34 different YouTube accounts.

  • 0:35 not amused you cannot have my armrest

  • Too bad Gus Johnson couldn't announce this.

  • well i guess sometimes........

    *Puts sunglasses on*

    Split Happens!

    YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • @10Dante4 original and funny

  • @bigbagron dude your pic is fucking scary!!!!

  • @10Dante4 it's going to appear outside your window at night if you don't stop using tired internet humor

  • @bigbagron screw you

  • @10Dante4 welp can't say i didn't warn ya

  • Haxx

  • His opponent is sitting there like a dick head pouty littler bitch !!!

  • Bill Coleman is the competitor. He's the only guy there who isn't enjoying the moment. What a schmuck! When Walter Ray Williams converted the big-4, Ryan Shafer had the sportsmanship attitude to at least high-five Dead-eye!

  • @groinkcaps correction, roth was bowling bill straub. i am 100% certain. check it out.

  • he makes that and the annoucers sound like it happens everyday

  • Bowlgasm lol

  • He was NOT trying to covert that

  • Well, this is one case for America being better than Britian. You have 10-pin bowling leagues! Televised! It's just a pastime for us!

    But Britian's still superior.

  • @joshrochanroolzutoob U-S-A! U-S-A!

  • It is legal to do this, as it's pretty much the only way to do it. I'e bounced the 10 pin out of the pit and back onto the deck a countless number of times, but only ever picked up the 7-10 once. This is, however, the way to do it and it still can be done even in today's bowling alleys. it's also perfectly legal to do it this way and SHOULD NOT be corrected as a 9.

  • @WizardPlayHD Why do you insult PBA history? The bowling lane was regulation sized. Plus when the bowling ball hits the pin back, that is not an unheard of coincidence. Have you ever played on the Wii? It is made clear from that game that pins can and do legally bounce out.

  • @WizardPlayHD the only out of bounds in bowling is hitting pins into a different lane

  • lol, bowling.

  • Too bad they make the pits differently now. Way deeper and more shallow than this. Pins never bounce completely out of the pit like this anymore. I WISH

  • @LegitCWalk The 10 pin did bounce out the pit when Mike Mineman attempted to convert the 7 10.

  • is that allowed in bowling,i mean bouncing off from the inside and hitting the ball, even then, its not a perfect 7-10 split, still appreciable...

  • @luv2break

Yes, of course it's allowed. It doesn't count if you bounce a ball out of the pit or the gutter, but the pins can do whatever they want. Really, there is no other way to do it, there isn't enough room on the other side of the pin to slide one into the other, so you just have to hit it at the right angle and hope it bounces out.

  • @Fukkensaved thanx for the info....

  • wowzers

  • why would 33 people dislike it? i mean, it's a sick shock that's great to watch. why hate?

  • everytime i get the 7 and 10 i try and reenact this scene right down to the pissed off look he gets after his first turn

  • Mark Roth makes modern bowlers today look like pussys..Roth hooked the ball in an era when you had to hook it with your skills..not technology...Major respect man

  • what a hacker

  • I want to have a 7-10 Split again. :( How do they make it ? I had only once a 7-10 Split. What do professional bowler to get so many Pocket 7-10 Splits ? I don't get barely one because my corner pins never stand both only one alone always.

    Help me :( :(

  • @GordonCK007 you grammar are real good yes

  • He didn't even pause when he threw the second ball expecting just to get the 10 pin.

  • Creepy was all the rage back in the 70s. Dress like now and the Secert Service guys would gang tankle you.

  • whats with the dude wearing a green shirt and sunglasses at 0:38??? He looks really creepy.

  • 32 people sucks at bowling

  • @DenverDee303 they "sucks" at bowling?

  • @eigthyysix i bet you're the 34th

  • cheat :)

  • 0:39 Ned Flanders... xD

  • I think I have some deadwood im my pants...

  • that was lucky guy!

  • Roth to announcer: "turs out I wasn't goin just for one asshole."

  • Lacrymosa85, you must be really dumb if you think someone who was born in the 1980's is old. Maybe instead of arguing it, why don't you go back to first grade to learn subtraction.

  • :40 Is that Sargant Stadanko??

  • @Gemini5936 LMAO!! .........."Was that Lard Ass?' -- "No, HardHat! Hardhat! Dispatch do you know who this is?" .........."No, who is 'This Is'?" -- "This is Sergeant Stadanko"

  • People dressed like such morons back then.

  • I saw this live in 1980. I was 9 years old.

  • @brgvt97 wow, you must like a 100

  • @lacrymosa85 Hardly.

  • @brgvt97 old fuck

  • @lacrymosa85 Anybody who listens to classical music has got to be old.

  • @brgvt97 what are you talking about?

  • @lacrymosa85 You can't figure it out???? Do you need a hint?

  • @brgvt97 yes please

  • @lacrymosa85 Well, if you insist...... Do you remember creating your channel?

  • @brgvt97 yep what about it?

  • @lacrymosa85 I find it funny that you label somebody who was 9 years old in January 1980 an "old fuck" and "100 years old", yet you listen to and play classical music, which is something that's usually associated with old people, or at least "older" people. Do you attend concerts at the local symphony orchestra as well? LMAOROTF.

  • @brgvt97 yeah me and your mom go all the time. sometimes naked. oh wait, she's dead.

  • @lacrymosa85 You're a sissy. You probably go to the opera with your grandma while your peers go to rock concerts.

  • @brgvt97 get a life

  • @lacrymosa85 Good comeback, moron. You're a sissy. A fairy. A pussy. Case closed.

  • @lacrymosa85

that's some good math skills there....

  • @LUCASTHEGOD You can say that again.

  • @brgvt97 I saw this live in 1980 too, and I was 13. You can tell I'm really extremely old.

  • @cudamanfl Yeah, you're really old. Seriously, you're not old, and I commend you for having math skills.

  • He knew he was lucky on that. You could see it on his face. That was not intentional.

  • the right pin went downward and bounced up to hit the left, i wonder if that can be learned? the name is roy, roy munson. lol

  • I've been bowling for 20+ years and still haven't picked that up yet.

  • Wow - amazing bowling.

32 people tried to get a 7 10 split and failed. I've only ever had a 7 10 split once, and that time I missed both pins!

  • This is so gay

  • @bigdaddykilla just like your mother on a Tuesday afternoon

  • i made it the very same way last night an that was more exciting then my first 300

  • Gay and Fake

  • Fake and Gay

  • 0:40 even the blind guy saw that one

  • 31 people bowls like a girl and goes down the gutter LoL, sorry if offend you douchebags

  • Easy way to pick up a 7-10 split. go into the shot with an arab mentality you'll always hit the two pins(towers) easily.

  • Mark Has SO much power with his shot. If you watch the other PBA Pro bowlers converting the 7-10 such as John Mazza, Jess Stayrook and most recently Brian Voss...when they converted there 7-10 they hit the 7 or 10 pin at an angle to launch it across the board, However Marks Ball hits the pin STRAIGHT on...But because he had so much power behind his throw the pin just flew in the only direction it could redirect all that energy lol.

  • impossible!!!

  • 0:39 ned flanders

  • :39 this is the day....the sunglasses inside started....

  • I remember seeing this shot when it was first telecast. Being a bowler myself by then, I knew how "impossible" it was to make the 7-10. When Roth made it, I thought my pants fall off. Go get 'em Mark!

  • 0:40 is that coach heinz in the green jacket?

  • The guy behind him at 0:35 doesn't seem happy at all...he probably lost.

  • 31 people will never get better than a 7-10 without bumpers

  • @joeyadler2266 31 people sucks at bowling LoL

  • More pins bounce from the back on Brunswick Lanes than on AMF because the lane completely shuts down after a minute or so. On an AMF machine the carpet, as they call it, runs continuously and immediately pull pins back to the conveyor. Didn't make it easy, just a tiny bit more possible.

  • im not surprised that mark hit this shot. He's a big guy and just muscled the ball hard enough to kick back to the other side.

  • I remeber seeing this live in 1980,I was 10 years old

  • the announcers are trash!!

  • @KJig5 Those announcers were the greatest.

They didn't say a thing until the crowd calmed down.

They let the crowd tell the story. Which is what EVERY good announcer does.

    Something we DON'T see anymore.

  • He got laid that night!

  • @JJordan1012 Bet he has a pinner. LOL

    Sorry, that wasn't funny

  • @JJordan1012 no, he's playing bowling

  • Ive done this once when i was a kid, now i realize why my dad was going nuts LOL

  • uses aimbot

  • @gnarcar44 Aimbot AND Wallhack LOL

  • oh so thats how you do it

  • a true classic, thanks Mark for years of outstanding bowling!

  • I bet they had it on mute and were going crazy... Probably every word would've been beeped out anyway..

  • A good announcer knows when to back away from the mike, taekneek, leaving the crowd's excitement to do the talking. Schenkel and Burton showed remarkable restraint for a first-time event and that's what made them so good. After the crowd noise had died down a bit then they broke in with comment. Over-excited announcers are the common thing now and TV broadcasts are poorer for it.

  • What an athlete!!!

  • 1 split I'll never forget that I picked up was a 1-3-7 and 10 split!! Shocked the shit out of me my dad and the 2 cashiers! Somehow I nailed the 1 and 3 so damn hard that they went flying into the 10 pin, sent that one flying in the air lands back down and slides into the 7 pin and knocks that one over!! That was one hell of a moment for me,wish I could have had a video of it :(

Bowling is one hell of a good sport, who in the world doesn't love bowling ??

  • @dragonballz768 my question is: how did you manage to leave 1-3-7-10? you had to have hit right next to the left pocket.. i wouldve been pretty mad..

  • @teejaye110

I throw a back up ball. So my ball hooks right instead of left. My ball came up a little short on the pocket and nailed pins 2 and 4 and took out 5,6,8 and 9. with it. Most of the time if that happens to me though I usually take out 2,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 and leave 1 and 3 standing. But that time I ended up with a a different kind of pin set up I never seen before. I was told once that the setters are off once in a while. If so there might be a tiny gap that would change the set up

  • I saw this shot, and it took 24 hours before I could pick my jaw back up off the floor!

  • FAKE!!! stupid fags who think this sport is real are retarded! theres a button that knocks down the pins at will to make it more interesting. theres no Skill in this sport. theres also a groove in the wood that helps the ball curve to the pins

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 dude stop being so jealous and just be happy for the guy that did that.

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 really, then how come most of the time people miss the "groove" and leave pins standing? that would also take skill too smartass. there is no groove, there is no button. this is as real as it gets. take your ignorant ass to the bowling alley and see for yourself.

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 really, then how come most of the time people miss the "groove" and leave pins standing? that would also take skill too smartass. there is no groove, there is no button. this is as real as it gets. take your ignorant ass to the bowling alley and see for yourself.

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 really?? if thats not a troll i just gave up hope on humanity

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 - You are a fool. I have bowled all my life, and like any other sport, bowling requires skill, hard work, thinking, etc. Are you jealous because you're like those dummies who just throw the ball down the lane as hard as you can to impress the bimbo you're with, and you don't get strikes? Lose the diaper and grow up!

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 Spastic cunt.

  • @chivasrule5792 hell yeah!

  • pause at 0:37 the dude with the jew fro and sex offender mustache looks PISSED!!

  • @risewitthefallen08

That was Roth's opponent in the match, Bill Straub.

  • @risewitthefallen08 - Isn't he Mark Roth's opponent? If so, that's why he looks that way.

  • the simpsons THANX

  • wow this is awesome. my bro and dad both have done this too(:

  • @juniorg1983: thank you, i've always been a fan of roth, and remember coming home on saturday afternoons from my youth league and watching roth and the other pros on abc's wide world of sports...

  • when was this? looks to be about 1977 or 78

  • I think this dude did it by hitting the 10 with his ball twice. He hit it straight on, it bounced back, his ball followed and hit it with a little spin left, and the pin went where he needed it to go. Nice pick up though. A+

  • @RipTheJacker0 - Roth knew he was lucky - just look at his reaction while the crowd cheers. But sometimes when you are as skillful as he was in the day, then you deserve to be lucky like that.

  • Ahh the early 90's

  • Big NY Rangers fan!!!!!!

  • Nice shot! :)

  • It's on ESPN on Sunday's not ABC anymore, mark's opponent didn't even give him a high-5 what a penis

  • @Turtle3000GT - Agreed! Unless he was just so stunned that he could just sit there. When you're bowling somebody, and they leave the 7-10, you figure you got it made. When the guy makes it, well, you know you've been owned.

  • You gotta love it!

  • he's the only person ever in the history of mankind to do this

  • @BoondocksHDTV not the only 1

  • Wow that is lucky and great!

Never have done it and doubt I ever will but I would be happy just to get 1 of the pins.

  • wow i remember when bowling was on TV

  • still is

  • @sugarkang its on every sunday, so i dont know what you're talking about...

  • So that's how u do it...

  • I did the same thing last year. Thought it was luck and 3 weeks after the first I did it again. I am in an eagles travel leauge. So it was two different houses the house with a mph thing it was 26.6 mph dead into ten pin pin hit back bounces of the wall and hits the ball again and hits the 7 pin.

  • definently one of the all time greats, but i dont think he meant to do that

  • first time ever 7-10 split and the announcers sound like it happens everyday

  • on *TV

  • @taekneek not the first person to pick it up. Just the first person to do it on tv

  • @taekneek no exciment.... after he hits the conversion, it's like their mic dies

  • @taekneek

Actually, they mentioned the fact that it hadn't been done on TV before 2 or 3 times, then followed that up with how unbelievable it was.

  • @BowlerScott in the most monotone voice ever

  • @taekneek This is probably the PBA on ABC, the same network that has bastardized basketball...

  • @taekneek not the first ever.. the first ever picked up....

  • I get goosebumps watching this - I saw it live as a child. Only Roth could do this at that time - nobody else had the speed or the shot with the bowling ball technology of the time. Another thing you need to know is that the crowd NEVER cheered like that like they do today on every shot. Your opponent wouldn't congratulate a shot back then either.

  • nerd

  • he raped them skittles!!

  • jesus i would be lucky just to pick up all my ten pins let anone the 7-10

  • He was a powerful bowler, one of the greatest of all time. I had a photo taken of me shaking his hand outside of Showboat lanes in Las Vegas after he finished a session.

  • I can't believe that Bill Straub didn't congratulate Mark Roth for converting the 7-10.

  • @TheAmpad Thats, what i call a bad loser!

  • Mark Roth, one of the greatest of all time!

  • MARK IT ZERO!

  • OVER THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow...this is like 100 years ago.. look at all the old people.

  • As if the presence of old people makes that a long time ago, lol. There are always old people everywhere at any time.

  • ahhahahahhaha

  • It probably looks very old to you because it was filmed with an older style camera and therefore doesn't look modern at all. Of course if you're under about 16 years of age, 1980 might as well be 100 years ago as far you're concerned, I'm sure.
