I learnt this on piano, the first song I learnt that was not utterly depressing and soul destroyingly sad or angry. I played it to a girl when everything was ok, and now its tottally shattered and destroyed and she hates me. Listening is like chewing diamonds.

This is the Le Reservoir version, right?? It's the most common live video of this circulating around, Thom makes a reference to it being a second attempt after an earlier fuck-up thus the (again). I ask because I saw that video, fell head-over-heels for the song, then tracked down the studio version and was so disappointed with what was basically a totally new song that drained the life out of what I had loved (like VIdeotape!). So I was curious to hear other live versions/performances of it
