Toyota lead the recalls in 2009. They just recalled another 2.3 million vehicles today, not even a full month into 2010. In November, Toyota recalled 110,000 Tundra pickups after U.S. regulators began investigating the model for severe frame corrosion that could also cause brake failure...
Toyota is the new General Motors. Quality issues hurt any automaker, and these quality problems are bubbling up to the surface at the time when you have very bad market conditions.
I own a Fusion and I like it. This is not a good "comparison" as I think that the Malibu they had was a cardboard cut-out in the background. They highlighted the Fusion and showed no comparison examples of the Malibu. I did my research and I based my purchase on the last Malibu which was less reliable then the fusion. But if the Fusion is ultimately better then why hide the Malibu's details? You know besides the two tone dash...
Flywheel broke and took out trans. Rear wiring harness short and fire. Failed engine mounts. Rear brakes lock up while parked. Intermittent DBW problems. DBW rev-hand and tip-in delay. Rear suspension control arms loose. Drivers seat squeaks (TSB) Excessive wind noise (TSB) Poor paint adhesion. I could go on and on, but am making myself sick. The car has less than 40k on it. I had an '03 Accord, and an '05 Camry before this one, both vastly superior cars.
I know, all cars have issues. The Accord and Camry weren't perfect, but then again they didn't leave us stranded more than once either.
My car is not an isolated case. Cruise the forums on this car, and you'll see what I mean. Everything I have had issues with, others have had as well. There are a lot of issues with this car I don't have, either. So, for that I am thankful. Take the front subframe failing, for instance. Now that would really ruin my day!
i wont buy anything from goverment motors.Only a anti american would.

3,000 cycles through salt and mud baths, and yet they can't correctly manufacture a reliable CD changer? Nice.....

Things do happen but you shouldn't nock on the car for a bad experience. Mine works perfectly fine.
