Just like Help Me from their first, incredibly dumb rocker poetry with incredibly great playing by the great one- GINGER BAKER!!! He's the reason I bought a drum set! (Along with Ringo.) Not Bonham, not Moon, Not Pert, but GINGER BAKER!!!
Just found this in a bunch of old records my friends mom gave me, it had a little sticker that said 6.99 British Pressing! So i figured i check it out, Pretty Cool!
I searched for this album for years after a roomate turned me on to it. I finally found it in a used record shop in Sierra Vista, Az. I guess some Army guy unloaded his collection with this gem in it. SCORE!
Great voice from the past... when I was living in provincial Denmark in the late seventies this record was an essential part of every party. Enjoy, enjoy...
This song features the talented drummer, Ginger Baker who is responsible for having a kit consisting of 2 bass drums very much in vogue in the 70s. Difference is... he actually used both of his as demonstrated so well in this song.
i want to say how FUCK*&* awsome this band are, everytime i ask a dj to play it they are like, who, and that pisses me off,i cant believe they have not heard of them, damn it!!,awsome group
Yes, I have hearts on fire, it is wonderful and Mr. Snips amazing. Great album. Hungry for the blues is a must hear... These guys are fuc%^ng awesome... thanks for loading...
Ginger as good as ever. Wow these guys rocked! I was a Ginger Baker nut at age 17, when this album was released. I have not heard this in 30 years!!! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. Excellent and as exciting now as it was 30 years ago.
Wow i can't believe i found this .I remember buying this when it came out .I first hard it on WNEW FM in NYC !! I still have it !!! Great band . I wore it out .
any chance of you posting the song "The Artist" from this album? That was a great cut too. Ahhh, what the hell, they were ALL great but we'll take whatever we can get!
I don't own anything by Baker-Gurvitz Army, but I plan on purchasing their 2-disc anthology entitled "Flying In and Out of Stardom: The Anthology." I highly recommend getting this if you like their music because it contains all 3 of their albums in a re-arranged song order across 2 discs with 4 bonus live songs (one at the beginning and one at the end of both discs). As far as I know, the only song that is shortened is "I Wanna Live Again" by about 1 minute. All other songs are full length.
