  • Solo careers are over-rated: These two should form a band.

  • holy shit, the bassist at 1:25, amazing haha

  • Keith should take some lessons from the Waifs.

  • You all wish that you could play like john mayer.. Who cares if he is a jerk if he writes the song he write, you would never EVER do a quarter of what he had done til now.. God damn it

  • @AnaMenendez97 he isn't a jerk at all.People are just retarded. He's the best musician alive and he's a really humble guy.People that think he's an asshole know nothing about him. Just ignore them because he is by far the best musician alive. The people that say he's an asshole are the assholes.whoever doesn't understand how amazing JM is don't understand music. The people that can't see through the media and listen to his music and recognize his talent are the ignorant assholes not John Mayer.

  • @25Ragz I agree with you 100% If like a musician, you dont worry about that hole thing, you just worry bout his music thats all, by listening their music you will really know how they really are, not by silly media interpretations, you what I mean?

  • Mayer is such a giant cock. Keith makes him look like the complete jerk that he is.

  • Sorry fellas but Urban smoked Meyer on this show

  • It was seriously be the most awesome thing ever to sit in with these two! I'm slapping that on my Life-Goals list!..

  • Saw these two fools in Vegas last weekend at the Tiger Jam; such an awesome show! It was my third JM show and my first of KU. Both owned their sets and their duets rocked. JM could have gone a little longer IMO but thats just me (and my bias hah!) JM was my favorite but Keith puts on a VERY fun show! For his last song he came into the crowd and I was like 5 feet behind him; than he signed and gave his Tele away to some lady! Such a cool dude; yet I was jealous as eff! Haha great time overall!

  • Sweet thing at 0:04

  • what song they sing at 0:03

  • The guitar trade-offs on the Crossroads program was fantastic. They complimented each other.

  • what's that song they sing 1:30-1:46? will be grateful if anyone let me know..

  • wtf happened to music??????????

  • @metalupyourass20 Music ended around 1985. MTV destroyed music.

Oh MTV , . . arent' they the ones who brought us the Jersey Shore?

  • If this were on a CD I'd buy it up in a second!

  • Come on Vegas!

  • its like my two favorite people in one video!! ahh!

  • I thought they were covering Eric Clapton :( well that's what I get for living in the past.

  • what´s the song at 0:05 ?

  • @jaimico777 That's Sweet Thing. They continue it at :30.

  • whats the name of the song they play at the end??

  • @UseTheMannequin 'Til Summer Comes Around....Keith Urban.

  • @UseTheMannequin Tha'ts "Til Summer Comes Around.

  • I loathe the vast majority of contemporary country music, but I totally want a DVD of that concert =| Seriously, where could I get one? Do they exist?

  • @yobhsiFehT

There is online auction site that markets them by folks, but the reviews about site seemed to be mixed and I have been afraid to go for it. The site is a place call "ioffer"

  • @yobhsiFehT

I have searched on the net and found an online site that offers them (ioffer.com), but in checking out reviews of the site they have been mixed so I am stuck trying to decide if I should go for it. I do not know anyone who has personally dealt with them.

Perhaps others here have heard of them??

  • @Deinnara

Hmm, if there's something less sketchy, feel free to let me know:S:D

    Thanks for the reply!

  • Both are great musicians, but those who think that Keith is more/as versatile as John are badly misinformed. When Keith stands up and plays with BBKing, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Chris Botti and the Boston Pops, Jay Z, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, etc, etc., composes and plays a hit popular song for a major motion picture (The Bucket List), and teaches a week long clinic for students at the Berklee College of Music...perhaps we can have an informed conversation.

  • @Deinnara bb king is a joke. eric clapton is mediocre at best. Rap/Hip Hop is a big joke. The worst country guitar player is better than the best rock guitar player.

  • @lespaulsoundwave Dude, what the hell hit you in the head as a child? You can take your shots at rap and hip hop, no one gives a shit. But leave B.B. King and Clapton out of your bashing. Just save yourself the shave and shut the hell up.

  • @lespaulsoundwave Hahaha you make me laugh with your preconceived judgement that sequesters you from the vast majority of music lovers worldwide.

  • @lbul6 judgment*

  • @lespaulsoundwave

Well, I guess it is possible for some people to define greatness as being only able to play the worst country music or only country music.... des gustibus non est disputandum : )

  • @lespaulsoundwave....Tell me how bb king is a joke please. He revolutionized blues witch formed everything else that was listen to today. He is great guitar player. I highly doubt that you have even competely listened to his music. I would love to see you our anyone else in that matter that think his music is crap try to actally sit down and play his music. Oh and im not talking about just playing his music but puting the soul that he puts in that guitar.

  • Great guitar players..

  • what's the name of the last song they were singing together? btw i root for John \^.^/

  • @LeAnn0206 The song is - Till Summer Comes Around

  • Great idea to trade guitars

  • I was a fan of both before the Crossroads show, but the chemistry between them made some of the songs I already loved even better. I think Gravity and Til Summer Comes Around were so much better with both of them. They are both so versatile on guitar I think this just pushed them outside of their comfort zones, and they both just really delivered. I hope they record and perform together a lot!

  • I originally watched this Crossroads show because I am a huge fan of John Mayer. Prior to this show, I didn't know squat about Urban's music. But while watching and seeing their chemistry on the stage, I became a fan of Keith. Do I think Keith is boring and untalented? No. I believe he can shred just as well as John, but being a fan of John, I'm a little biased.

Regardless, both are very talented, and Keith and John both respect one another. That's all that matters to me.

  • Both of them are awesome, okay? Doesn't matter who is better than who. They're both better than most people will ever be!

  • Why don't we stop commenting on these things in hope to just stir up confrontation. Here are the facts. The two are both incredibly musicians, and if you have done your homework, Keith can friggin' shred, but he chooses not to because he has a musician's touch to know when to tear it up or when to just sing a melody with his guitar. And Mayer is a monster. He can play any genre he wants to with ease because he has studied every single genre. Stop dogging them cuz we'd all kill for their skills!

  • is this a dvd that you can buy, or is this on the internet somewhere cause i really want to watch this!!!???

  • @erichrocks92 Saying Mayer only plays blues is not true whatsoever. yea that is his main genre but he does a lot rock stuff and he's shown in his crossroads episodes that he can play any genre. He's played live with Jay-Z, Eric Clapton, pretty much everyone who is big in their genre wants to be seen playing with Mayer cuz Mayer can kill it all. Keith is not half the guitar player John is there's no question about that. Mayer is so much more technical and emotional. Keith is just boring.

  • seriously..can't wait to listen to genuine live upload!....they were killing it!

  • @HeathLedgerTWILIGHT Keith Urban isn't half as talented as John Mayer. John is a freak but he's so much better as a musician, singer, and songwriter than Keith will ever be. John can play any style and kill it, Keith can only play country and he can't really do that well.

  • @jlal2 i love both but id have to say keith urban is a lot more versatile than mayer...mayer only does blues pretty much and even when he covers something he turns it into a blues song...blues is one of my favorite kinds of music so im not complaining about that though. keith has done rock songs, country, pop, blues and more and they all sound incredible. their both one of the best in their genres but to say that keith has half the talent as mayer is not true.

  • Comment removed

  • Keith Urban's a beast. And John Mayers a freak.

  • Everything on that episode was amazing... except when Keith Urban did anything.

  • @jlal2 Screw you.

  • @jlal2 your obviously a hater looking for a reaction, Keith isn't the best guitarist around nor does he claim 2 be but he's good at what he does, you might know your music but bagging on the guy so badly makes you look a cunt tbh, i bought a john mayer dvd 'where the light is' n hated it, doesn't mean he's crap it just wasnt for me but i don't go looking for his vids on youtube just 2 bad mouth him, did u see the gig? John Mayer struggled to grasp the simple intro to 'till summer comes around'..

  • I'm seeing Keith urban and John Mayer both at the gorge. Will be an epic show for sure. But I need to also see separate shows of both so I can get a full experience of both

  • Two great voices with awesome guitar playing ability. Loved every minute of this Crossroads special.

  • John Mayer- Assassin (Music Video) Up On YouTube

  • Two on my favourites singers...great to see them together !!! Thank you !!

  • what a combination !!

  • As much as I love Brad Paisley (freak guitar player) I think that Keith Urban is a better fit with John Mayer

  • @Timerrin i totally agree, i'm a massive keith fan and these 2 rocked together, as much as i love keith though i think Brad Paisley might be the best guitarist in the world (bold i know) :-)

  • anyone know where i can watch the full episode of this online? i missed it and its not airing again

  • does anyone know where i can watch this online. Im away and the hotel does not have cmt. I dont think cmt.com is airing the episode

  • I love both these artists on they're own.

However, I thought this collaboration lacked the magic I have come to expect from these artists.

When JM and Brad Paisley did they're Crossroads episode, I felt that was a much better concert.

  • I love Keith, but I really love the blues and I'm so glad John mentioned Stevie Ray Vaughan as an early influence. Stevie permeates my life daily and I still love him today as if he never left us. It was nice to see Keith and John together, though John's voice does not lend itself to Keith's music. Still, it was very enjoyable but waaaaaay too short.

  • @SRV4evr said "it was very enjoyable but waaaaaay too short!"

    Again, my thoughts exactly!

  • Btw, when those of you who watch this concert on "Crossroads" get a chance, see if you can guess what guitar that is that John is playing for most of the night. I'm talking about the blue Les Paul looking hollow body that is made out of Aluminum I'm guessing. No, I don't know, but I'm very interested in seeing one. Tell me if you do know or find out. Awesome looking guitar! Love the rally stripe down the middle and the blue is fantastic! He probably got that guitar for free! *sigh*

  • Although the concert tonight (CMT's Crossroads) featuring John Mayer and Keith Urban was good, it left me a little bit disappointed. The reason being, it was too short. Good thing I got tickets to see them at the Gorge at the end of August and I'll get plenty of these two jamming together to fill that void that I didn't get tonight. Great concert! Keith seemed a little hoarse but that's a given. He yells too much when he sings. Great guitar and great vocals though by both! Awesome!!!

  • @locoken i am going to the gorge to see them too, august! its going to be amazing.

  • @locoken keith urban yells too much when he sings? haha load of crap

  • @ericsoto Thanks for the intelligent response. If you knew anything about correct singing posture and technique, you would understand. Therefore, your response is pointless. Go away, troll.

  • @locoken I have a bachelor's degree in music education...I do know about correct singing posture and technique. but this is not classical music and those rules don't necessarily apply. Sometimes people sound raspy because that's the sound of their voice...like demi lovato.

  • @ericsoto Hmmmm....seems to me if you had a bachelors degree, you could also see when someone is overusing their voice and yelling. Many professional singers do this which tends to lead to shorter singing careers. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist, let alone a music education to understand that, but thanks for your insightful comments. =)

  • @locoken you're welcome. any time ;)

  • someone needs to post this online somewhere tonight, it's not available to watch in Canada tonight :(

  • Man I've been waiting for this for a while and it's finally here tonight. Gonna watch magic happen.

  • I'm glad to see these two play together. No, they weren't in a band together, however, John used to be in a band with Clay Cook, called The Lo Fi Masters. Clay is now a member of the Zac Brown Band.

  • didn't these guys used to be in a band or something? i think i heard that one song 25 years ago in an elevator.

  • john mayer is a legend!
